SILENT RETREAT at the Abbey of the Genesee with Trappist monks

My buddy Jon and I went on a silent retreat, practising contemplation, silence, prayer and inner stillness. We went to the Abbey of the Genesee, near Buffalo, NY which is the same Catholic abbey that Henri Nouwen stayed at for 8 months. It was the first time for each of us, and we both had quite a powerful experience.

Nope. It's closer to Rochester, NY and It's almost ontop of Geneseo, NY.
If you prefer to be in nature with hills, wild flowers, trails and ponds as well as beautiful chapels, try Mt. Irenaeus near Friendship, NY or Mount Saviour Monastery mear Pine City, NY.
