Hey there, is it Adrienne? Came over from I think Gail's livestream earlier. I had actually found your channel a week or so ago, but just never had the time to check it out. I have recently gotten rabbits and someone had mentioned you had a few videos about them. Thanks for sharing for us new rabbit owners. Chuck
Hi, I am new to your channel. I have raised and been around raised rabbits since I can remember til I was 40ish. I would suggest getting water bottles, feed hoppers and hay baskets for both rabbits. I would also suggest building a wooden box at the rear of the wire cages for the rabbits to go in and rest. 1. The box will act as a den, where the rabbit can go to feel secure. 2 It also will be beneficial when you decide to raise babies. 3 When winter comes it makes keeping them safe easier. I built mine with a hinged roof. So you could clean out the box easier. I had cages with the boxes with my does in them. I had not gotten around to making the boxes for the bucks when a pack of stray dogs came into my yard and killed one buck , drug him threw the wire. The also chewed the feet off a second and the third was traumatized he would not breed after that. So I lost three rabbits because I waited. As for taming the doe treats and patience. Hugs and love from my corner of Kentucky.
Thank you SOOOOO much for the tips! I truly appreciate it! Now do these shelters have bottoms? Or do you leave it open on the bottom? The breeder had them on bowls and when I tried to get them to drink from the bottles they just would not. Do you have a tip on how to get them to drink from the bottle??
@@IndianaBackyardGardener The shelters we made were wooden boxes bottom, tops sides all wood with just a hole cut into the side that connected to the wire cage so the rabbits could go from one to the other. I also didn't need a nesting box as the does had their babies in the shelter part of the cage. You might try putting a little carrot juice in it and touch the ball to get it to flow so it has the smell and taste on it.
Good morning I hope one day I get to have some bunny rabbit it all kinds of little different things. I know I'm new to your homestead in page but I'm starting to really love the homesteaders y'all have a lot of things that I like one on. Live timing in all kinds of things that I'm hoping I'm going to be starting to do soon. Thank you for sharing this video and please take care of those rabbits really good.
Rabbits are prey animals so most rabbits don't like to be off the ground and often won't ever be ok w it. Mine are 2 and 3 yrs old and its never changed for the 2 ur old, 3 yr old got a bit better so bonding and cuddles on the ground are what they can more quickly become accustomed to
I have. And I don't think it's the right time yet. I don't know alot yet. I'm just starting to can and I am expanding the garden so much new going on already. But I think in due time I will add them. Thanks so much for stopping by! I appreciate you commenting

So is 1/2" hardware cloth big enough for rabbit poop to go through?
Yes
You want the coated kind though, the ordinary hardware cloth is not good on the feet
Is the bunny for manure business still there?
Are you asking if I still have manure?
🐇🐇🐇
