Akki , Thakur correct Bangla naam aachhae, kintu Rabindra babu nije Tagore naam use korae chhen. I hope my Bangla is passable. His signature appears at the begining of the video. He used "Tagore" in place of "Thakur". A lot of Bengali families anglicized their name - Chatopadhyaiya to Chatterji, Gsngopadhyaey to Ganguli, Bangopadhyaey to Bannerji.....His family had changed to Tagore before he was born, afaik.

Hi professor.. I love literature ..n loooove Bob Dylan n his work! was excited as hell when his work or lyrics were considered literature n he was awarded nobel prize.(even though people there debate it) But he wasn't the only poet to be awarded nobel for literature!
A fact : Rabindranath Tagore who wrote India's National Anthem was an Indian poet..and he won nobel prize for literature in 1913...

Abi V : Rabindra Nath Thakur was a genius beyond comparison. Oh but he had a language (Bangla) which with which he wove his magic. The nobel prize committee mentioned "Geetanjali", but he was far more than just a poet. He wrote a two act play from an incident in the Mahabharata, about when Kunti goes to see Karna, her out of wedlock first born son whom she abandoned, the night before Karna's epic battle with her son Arjun, she pleads with Karna for Arjun's life. Then Karna says to his mother, "the world knows you be the mother of five sons. After tomorrow, you will still have five sons". In the second act, Krishna came disguised as a beggar, asking for alms from Karna, and asked for Karna's devine golden breast plate, wrist & elbow guards. Then Karna, knowing that it was God asking him for those, gave up his invincibilty, and next day, his brother Arjun slew him in battle. Tagore wrote a masterpiece emotional two act play based on this in the Mahabharata.
