    I have two boys on the spectrum; one boy has dyslexia and ADHD, my daughter is ADHD/add, and my youngest has OCD. Being a mom of five with kids who all have unique needs, it’s tough but a blessing. All my kids are fantastic. Our schools aren’t great and not equipped for these disabilities. I hope that there starts being a better school system to fit the child and not the system in the future. I have to fight for my kids each day to meet their basic needs at school. My oldest son, the school would never recognize his autism and only ADHD. Upsetting and frustrating because a child with autism needs different things than a child with just ADHD. I eventually pulled him out and homeschooled him for the rest of high school.

    I know one Taiwanese family with five kids. They sent one kid to mainland China, one to Japan, one to Australia, one to USA, and one to Canada. They say it's a way to survive as a family, no matter what happens in this world.

    Good parents always shift their dreams for what their children’s lives will be as they grow - because they are our dreams projected on them, not necessarily their own. We must accept our children are individuals with their own hopes, dreams, strengths and weaknesses.
    I have twins; one of whom is neurotypical and one who is neurodivergent. Both are growing up to being fine young adults who constantly surprise me with their views about the world and the place they want for themselves in it.

    Mom of 6 children here. 5 different schools in two different counties. I got have 2 children with learning disabilities, 1 being tested for learning disabilities and one labeled as twice exceptional. My youngest daughter has autism, adhd with odd. My youngest son has medical issues and my oldest daughter was born with severe heart defects and has a pacemaker. I'm exhausted. It's extremely tough trying to keep up with all the doctor appointments, meetings, therapy sessions, etc.

    What greater love is there for a Father to find a cure for his Wife’s illness?

    You lost me at Autism Speaks and ABA. ABA is like conversion therapy to force autistic people to act like neurotypical people, and Autism Speaks doesn't historically support actual autistic people speaking on behalf of our own.
    I'm out.

      For me ABA is like your treating a child as a animal

      That is where they lost me as well. Dog trainers aren't allowed to use "stragities" used in ABA

    "You have to mourn" seriously what

    • @blairariavanderkamp3405
      @blairariavanderkamp3405 2 роки тому +2

      Mourn the life that you thought you would and could have had. Nobody sets out to have a family saying "let's have disabled children!" Nobody expects it to happen to them unless they know that they have faulty genes. Otherwise it is a terrible shock that you have to get over. It's something that you only ever expect to happen to other people. So when it does happen, it's a rude awakening.
