I love, love, love how you get started right away and mix in the tips with more at the end! I have a hard time using both hands, but I think I will try this!
thank you @marlybird for this really cool hat pattern and showing how to do the special ribbing. I just licked on the link to the free pattern but it took me to the sleeveless sweater pattern. I love them both.
I've really enjoyed this guide and I love the look it gives the hat. Any suggestions for how many stitches to add to compensate for the decreased stretch of this pattern. If, for instance, my pattern calls for 100 stitches, should I add 20 to the ribbing for compensation?
I’ve done this before. I learned it from you, in fact, in the Camp Colorwork course in the Marly Birdhouse. I think it was on the slip stitch mittens. Amazing course! Thanks for this tutorial.
Warning if you aren’t familiar with both English AND Continental don’t bother with this technique shown here. Also if you’re not familiar with fair isle don’t bother and save yourself irritation, frustration, and tears. I’m not a Master Knitter like Marly, I’m not coordinated enough to have two strands in each hand as she does so eloquently. I’m a thrower and have struggled for 30 years to try continental. I do knit fair isle, dropping strands when I use them. I don’t know if this would work with this beautiful stitch shown here. I may try to do this but in a way that works with me. At the end of the day, this technique here is not the end all . Do what works for you, use her vast knowledge of this technique to make it your own.
❤it look hard ; I will save it and try it in the future !

I love the corrugated ribbing. is there a way to do it with just my left hand?
I love, love, love how you get started right away and mix in the tips with more at the end! I have a hard time using both hands, but I think I will try this!

YES! Isn't it fun?
I noticed that you are knitting through the back loop. Does it make a difference which way you knit?
no, I didn't work through the back loop. Unless a stitch was twisted for some reason, I was knitting "normally".
