We haven’t read the books so it’s all speculation! Just seemed like that’s where it was headed with the Lannister storyline. Thanks for the kind words!

i heard from someone in the ASOIF community that HBO forced the directors to only allow for 8 episodes midway through the season, so maybe we should give some more understanding to the creators there. also as far as comparing HOTD to the first seasons of GOT, the scenes were already written. HOTD is based off a few short chapters in Fire&Blood that are major event summaries not dialogue scenes so it's probably a lot more difficult to write when you don't already have fully written GRRM scenes. frankly i'm just pleased they aren't completely destroying the characters like in season 6-8 of GOT considering that's when they had to go away from the source material. instead they've chosen to retcon some of the lore mistakes in the last seasons of GOT by giving more old gods emphasis with Daemon. any lore nerds will know how epic it is to have a green man on screen (with HOOVES and ANTLERS) and the blood with the weirwoods (weirwoods in books are DARK and probably involve blood/human sacrifice) and the last vision sequences with Daemon predicting future events, the 3 heads of the dragon song hinting at the lore how the fire magic works. them incorporating that really shows they did their homework even if they let us down a bit with pacing and pay offs for the average viewer

Its hard to juggle. Because i feel like they HAD to give us Dragons and i think waiting till seasons end would have been too long. But also yes it felt SOMETHING needed to happen for the finale. Maybe you guys are right and they couldve spit it. Do a half season 4 episodes or maybe 5. Come back in like 6 months with 5 more which then could've included maybe the take back of Kings Landing. Then again there are only so many major events left in the in the story so they NEED to space it out if they want, i believe 4 seasons.

Yep, they announced shortly after the finale that the series will end after four seasons, so who knows. Hey, at least we only have to wait two years for answers haha.
Thanks so much for watching and commenting, means a lot!

Modern audiences just cant handle that every single episode isnt a litteral 50 minutes long battle.

There has definitely been a shift recently in what general audiences perceive as “boring”. We love dialogue and character arcs though!
      Thank you for watching!

I'm not sure it's exactly that that people are having an issue with. There's no... pay off. Little progression of substance etc. No one likes cliff hangers. Let alone an entire season setting up that cliffhanger. ESPECIALLY when you can tell, it's plain as day, they cheaply and greedily just cut the last 2 episodes off the season. Absurd to short change HBO's only real good series in years.

Yeah, I don’t think the “lack of action” is the issue here. It’s plot lines that tread water for an entire season. We certainly aren’t saying action is the thing missing here, it’s substance.
