I haven't played the SLB300 so I can't really compare the two, honestly. I have played the SLB200, and I think TravelBass is far better that that. But I know Yamaha has made a lot of improvements on the 300, so I really don't know.
Thanks! It's called the safe bridge tool. I believe it comes with the bass. Here's a video they made that shows it from another angle. ua-cam.com/video/Jzbl8pDlMaQ/v-deo.html
I think the best option is to message through the website travelbass.it/, or emailing the maker Gionny at travelbassinfo@gmail.com. I spoke with him a few days ago, and I know he's backed up but he will get back to you.
If it's a professional orchestra, they would probably want you with a full size instrument. But for a student orchestra, it could work, as long as the conductor is okay with having an amplified instrument. Achieving a blend inside a section might be tricky though.
stevewhipple much appreciated. Quick question, did you do a decent amount of flight dates as well? If so, did you ever have any issues with storing travelbass in an overhead compartment? My biggest fear is a flight attendant telling me that it’s taking up the entire storage bin and making me check it
@@ryanhernandez6002 I got the bass in October for a European bus tour, so it spent most of the time in the gear trailer for that tour. Since then, I probably flew a total of 5 times with the bass, and I ended up checking it every time since the luggage fee was covered for those situations. No overweight or oversize charges for checking it. I never had a problem with it checked, so if they take it from you once you're on the plane, you won't have to pay for the bag, and I doubt you'll have a problem- the case is really well designed and made for travel. Feel free to ask any other questions when you get it too, I've used it a fair amount (until travel gigs ended...), and I feel pretty familiar with it.
Hello!, What do you think about the Yamaha SLB300, this travel bass is a better option than the Yamaha?
thanks.

Awesome review! .. What's the name of the setup tool you use in order to avoid the bridge to move when tuning the strings??

@@stevewhipple Thanks!!
How do I get in line to get one of these?

You ever try the MK Classic ?
I haven't tried that one. Looks interesting though.
Hello! Do you think it will work with the bow in orchestral rehearsals? Thanks!!

Would have been nice if you would have used the bow on it.
Mines on the way from Italy. Can’t wait to play it!
You're going to love it. Enjoy!

stevewhipple Much appreciated good sir. I probably will have more questions down the road. Very excited
@@ryanhernandez6002 For sure, have fun!
Nice! What strings are on it?
Thanks! They're Thomastik Spirocore solo gage strings, tuned down to orchestra pitch.
nice
Thanks!
