Bought one to take to Florida on vacation. The tuners are a bit stiff, but work well with the allen wrench. It arrived with an obscenely high bridge saddle, I sanded more than an eighth of an inch off and adjusted the truss rod. I used it as my only guitar over the trip, both my sons and I played it and we all absolutely loved it. Even my wife commented that it was an excellent purchase. Wasn’t too sure about Donner before, but they do punch way above their weight. It cost $170 and plays like a $700 Epiphone/Fender/Alvarez acoustic. It’s not trying to be a Hummingbird, it’s just excellent at what it is. 👍🏼
I have heard from more than 5 people about switches breaking with in a months use and awful customer service so it's got me concerned, but hopefully, I can buy one that's not Borked
I have a question for you… I would love to get this guitar BUT I’m a lefty and they don’t make this for a lefty! You seem to think outside the box so that’s why I’m asking you.. can I string this for a lefty. Probably could modify a few things but do you think it would work? Thanks!!
@@Halftimepressur I think we will be ok. Donner doesn’t make all that bad things . Granted not things I usually buy . If it lasts a few years I would be happy . You just never know
I can imagine he sends them back as he’s just demoing, but that’s based off my knowledge from other UA-camrs, he could very well also keep every single one!
I got one referb on sale super cheap.... Now I'm considering the Hush-X too cause this a nice guitar to have on trips. Also use it when I know I have a long wait in the car like the line for picking up the kids at school
This has really high action right out of the box, but you still made nice music! This could have been a lap steel guitar it's certainly set up for slide!
I just ordered one of these. I see it comes with extra light .10-.47 strings which isn't what I use on my acoustics. Do you think it can handle the extra tension of Elixir light .12-.53 strings?
Is tremolo bar not available for this type of guitar? Can't convert wth after market parts? Elec guitar without tremolo bar is not real elec guitar. I am looking for travel elec guitar with tremolo bar.
@@팩폭팩트뉴스 You can get basically the same model as the Steinberger Spirit GT for around $400. I actually bought one online as a blem for $300 right after I posted that comment so I now have near twins, but the Spirit has three pickups.
Y’all need to check out the Traveler guitars. They are under-reviewed (probably because they don’t pay UA-camrs as much). I have the Escape and it is just like this but I think better. It’s got a more substantial body to it. I carry it all over my house and in bed and when I travel. They also make electric-guitar versions called the EG-1 and EC-1.
@@sport8133wrong. This one is $300 - he has the Amazon link in the description. And the Traveler model I’m referring to is the Escape which is $400-500 (USD).
Got introduced at NAM2023 this year it will take up a few moths I wanted an acoustic at the moment so I bought it plus it was available at a discount so had to the new vs 2023 one has better removable frames, it has a push and release mechanism better than screwing it as it becomes difficult to assemble and pack frequently.
I love the cute little verbal bend you add to the end of your sentences. That extra half-syllable. Adorable. Girls do it. You don't hear it from guys much...
I've got the Traveler Mark III escape. I have played the Donner, but no comparison. The Traveler plays and feels so much better. Although I am Jelous that the Donner has easier tuners and pegs to acces for changing strings.
It sounds OK. But it's no match for the passive guitar made by the Brazilian luthier Ramá. He is the creator (and owner of the patent for this type of guitar).
Just buy a cheap electric guitar and use headphones in the amp or portable amp. A lot cheaper and better electric guitar can be had for not much more than 100 dollars. Other than portability, Donner silent guitar is not a rational choice.
Love your channel (truly) but please do not play background music, yuck. You are not sports center and no one needs mindless “ambience,” not even espn. It’s zero add and just sucks the life out of your content, well that and your opening jokes - ha
Negative. He obviously got paid for this advert but dislikes the guitar so doesn't want to say anything about it. It sounds ok but is probably uncomfortable af.
You don't know how many 'reviews' I watched where they didn't play it unplugged.
Thankyou for actually demonstrating the purpose of this design.
Congrats watched a pile of stuff about this guitar and you are the only one that played it dry 😊 thank you great video
Thanks for turning me on to Donner. I have some of their instruments and the quality and packaging always impresses me. Great value for the money
Such great value!
greatly appreciate for playing it unplugged!!!
I bought one of these HUSH 1's for an oncoming trip out west and I love it
Really great for travel!
That's really neat. The only thing I noticed was the frequent fret buzz.
Probably just a truss rod adjustment

You realize that Yamaha makes these types of guitars, and Yamaha doesn’t make junk!
Maybe try a Yamaha next time for around $650.
The new Donner Hush guitar sounds great and looks cool too!!
Do you mean the new electric one?

I just got one of the Donner travel guitars 🎸 and it’s great. May have to adjust the bridge but it plays great right out of the box.
if its the same quietness of an unplugged electric, is it better to get a kids guitar?
Just found this Video .I travel a lot so i just bought one due to your review .Thanks as always Sean !!

Right? Who has time for reading the manual? Seems like a useful little guitar to have

The Hohner GT3 is a Steinberger copy with authentic Steinberger tremolo bridge. Even smaller than this guitar and great for travel.

It sounds very thin in all demos on youtube.
does it have bluetooth to connect to a bluetooth speaker ?
I ordered one a month ago. Hasn’t arrived yet

how would you compare it with the Yamaha version?

You skipped the tuning step. Where do you clip on the tuner?
The little hanging clip at the top
What is this "manual" thing of which you speak?
I wanted to buy a Yamaha silent guitar for the longest while. Do you know how this compare? Is this a must have toy?
I've actually never tried the yamaha one. So honestly i just keep it by my bed in my room as something to semi-silently noodle on. It's cool

Which is better that Donner or the Enya acoustic that plugs in

Yeah that's the big advantage. Both are really great guitars!
