- Jimmy was one of the wonderful guest performers on the Country Music Cruise 2023, he was able to meet lots of wonderful fans and had a wonderful time speaking and performing on the cruise ship.

American country and gospel singer and guitarist Jimmy Fortune has become one of the mainstays in the music scene, his career dating back to 1981. Fortune found his big break when he was discovered by and began to tour with the Statler Brothers. During this time, He wrote the group’s second No. 1 hit, “Elizabeth,” on their 1983 album Today, and followed that with two more No. 1 hits: “My Only Love” and “Too Much On My Heart”. Fortune also wrote the Top 10 hit “Forever” and co-wrote the top-10 hit “More Than a Name on the Wall”. The group was later inducted into the Gospel Music Association Hall of Fame and the Country Music Association Hall of Fame.
Jimmy Fortune started a solo career after The Statler Brothers retired in 2002. As a solo artist, he has released 8 albums, one of which, Hits & Hymns, reached No. 10 on the US Country charts. He continues to write, record, and produce today, and still tours extensively.
I have always loved this song. My husband had a massive stroke 6-16-23. I have ask everyone to pray for him. He has made a remarkable recovery and is now walking better than before! PTL!!! He still cannot speak, or swallow, but that is a second miracle that is getting ready to happen. I can make out his words. We have been married over 36 years!! Please pray for him even though you may not know him. To God Be The Glory!!

Thank you, Jimmy, for such a beautiful love song! My husband and I danced to this song at our wedding in 1987. My husband passed away in 2019. Each time I hear this song, it takes back to our wedding day and how we were both meant for one another. We were so happy to be starting our lives together. Were were married for 32 years. He was my best friend and I miss him every day! My husband was and always be my only love!
