The Simoni Racing HQ is some of the best modern architectural design I've seen in a long time. Highly modernist without getting too heavy into brutalism. And I have to say kudos to Alan for building such an interesting NSX.
So sick seeing such a nostalgic legendary JDM piece of history car the NSX on its own then to upgrade it to a Rocket bunny NSX with 2piece TE37'S 👌 then build it it to an absolute Time Attack monster 👌 and it looks and sounds incredible what a car 👍
I can still remember when Alan, one day on the track, told me that he wanted to do this madness of sequential gearbox and engine rotation! we were even thinking about a swap perhaps with an already turbo engine! this car is crazy! but I already know that the legendary Alan... will make it turbo sooner or later!! We are ready to fly 😂
Dino this is why your at the top for Car Culture content in my eyes every vid is always incredible cars and so entertaining to watch and what a great collection but that NSX 👌 amazing their such a nostalgic legendary piece of JDM history and that one with the Rocket Bunny kit the livery and of course the 2piece TE37's and cant forget the engine scoop just incredible and huge fan of those on the NSX and the Time Attack look its so crazy that its just a V6 and they competed and beat super cars and then to go and build it and change the engine position insane but seem like it works well and it sounds absolutely amazing 👌 specially when wide open and backfiring and shooting the flames what a car and as always nice job and keep up the great work 👍

Greta video. What a really sound fella, Alan is. You can tell he is a real petrol head. That Clio 16V is in an amazing condition as well, love the wheels on it as well, you don't see that style too often these days. Its amazing the difference, shortening the rear end makes, kind of makes it look like one of those Can-Am racing cars, from back in the 60's 😉 Its an amazing part of Italy around that area, I hope to get back over there again someday. The amount of businesses, dedicated to car manufacturing along with car parts and design, is just unreal.
That NSX is absolutely nuts albeit a fully dedicated transformation The Renault Clio a classic in its own rite everyone in my family has owned it at some point 👌
Awesome video Dino! I really liked your review on the Stelvio. I like that it’s very Italian, and I honestly would take over a urus. Amazing car that is!
The two engines are different. The Alfa is a 2891cc of 86.5x82 mm while the Maserati is a 3000cc 88x82mm with pre-chamber injection. It's not an F158 V8 with two cylinders, but it's the same engineer who designed them
With a transverse mounted engine you can cancel out some of the angular momentum from the wheels/brakes/axles with the crankshaft/clutch/flywheel - which would be a significant technical advantage to the layout. The motor torque that twists the chassis is also oriented longitudinally, which will help handling stay about the same when you are on or off the throttle. Ever seen a FR drag car lift a front wheel on launch? That's the motor torque twisting a soft chassis/spring setup. A transverse engine (with the typical gearbox layout) won't do that, even with soft springs.
sic dude what a dream to be driving a alfa on those roads where you grew up, fun fact in my last video I spotted a Alfa Brera never seen one before oh and wiesmann mf4 but ya the Alfa romeo brera was cool to see
Whenever it shows his footwork on the track, you can see him tap the brakes with his foot still on throttle. I wonder if this is to load the suspension? I’ve done that on a track I got to at Hallett to keep the front wheel down over a hill but that’s it. Interesting
Another great video Dino 👌 I do have a question about the nsx. What about the Esprit nsx? I thought that had its engine turned and mated to a sequential, but I never read up on it back in the day, just articles from Japan tt events.
@dino_dc I see.. I missed that info in the introduction. NA sounds soooo good 👍 I actually didn't know they turbo charged the Esprit car.. but increased power to weight ratio makes sense. Hey please don't take anything I write as being negative. As most of my information actually came from a certain DDC contributor to HPI and DB magazines in the naughties.. yes sir 👏 I am always learning from you in the world of cars, and not just JDM. I'm probably not coming across properly, it's because after 2&1/2yrs as her personal carer, my mum has just passed away on the 11th. It's a little difficult to get it together lately. Please keep up the great content 🙏
@@dino_dcAgreed. Come on already!! What are Alfa waiting for? The M5 wagon...🤪 I would love a slightly raised version like the Audi allroad or Tycan Cross Tourismo.. 🤩

@@dino_dc Strictly speaking, a transverse-mounted engine is already sideways. Not that I want to split hairs - it's a great car, and I've often wondered why Honda didn't just mount the engine and gearbox longitudinally in the first place.
Honda did it for their JGTC NSX's so these guys are on the right track 🥁
Grazie Dino per farci vedere queste realtà in maniera così approfondita.
I love how in every part of the world there is a Japanese Beast Hidden in someone’s garage!
And I try to discover them lol

The Racing Footage from the Legendary Bozzy 👌👌👏👏
That makes sense. Basically, it's the same layout in top fuel dragsters. Awesome YT coverage, Boss Dino. Stay safe, stay blessed, y'all ❤
Thank you 🤙🏻
Same layout as almost any supercar.

Lovely thing. It actually looks kinda nice without the rear diffuser. Very unique build for sure.

Does the longitudinal engine layout have any advantages over the transversal layout?
Transverse engines are whack 😂

In Italy yes as B roads are pretty crap. In Japan I’d take the Giulia but am I still the only one waiting for a wagon version?? Come on Alfa!

How reliable are alfas?
Haven’t owned a modern one so I’ll let someone that has chime in
Reliable as any other car. There are no particolar issues in modern Alfas.
First half video is about an suv 50-75 is about guys fruity history last 25% is about the car. Good job
Appreciate the summary 😂
Why cant japan use slicks?
Well HKS has, and it makes that time not really count for much as everyone sticks to semis. It’s like an unwritten rule
