This ENTIRE album rocked in the 80's and STILL rocks to this day. I've still got a RATT problem and always will!
I remember when this album came out. It went though the roof and Ratt became famous overnight.

Long live the 80’s best times of my life! Great album. Who wants to go back in time?
ME!!!!
Today’s generation has no idea the decade of the 80s they missed out on!! By far the best decade for music!!!
The best decade of my life ! I'm 64 now, and still riding skateboard !
Mine too !! Best ever time if my life ! You go with your skateboard ! 😁👍👍@@sugarfree7298
today generation just robot, not human, they music so boring,, i prefer 80s 90s music, 🤘🏻👅🤘🏻
so we must educate these kids today on real music, always blast the 80's hits !!
One of the best albums ever made
Oh, those hot summer nights in southern California. Windows down, stereo on 11, didn't need sleep, making bank and banging nubile young coeds, all my dreams were still alive... Now, I've got one foot in the grave and I'm all dead inside, but hearing this makes me well for a moment. The '80s. What a glorious time to be alive.
You got that right what a great time to be alive and young were still breathing don't give up some days I want to give up but this music keeps me rocking and young at 52 Summer of. 83 or 84 remember hearing this good times not a care in the world ,,,
So ,what went wrong?
@@john1559 Got old, ans now I spend my days marveling at hipster beta male douches with manbuns and dumb girls whose bright future involves an only fans account. But the best part is watching the current generation drift from life event to live event, mouth agape, with glazed over eyes and stiff necks from gawking at a phone all day.
I hear ya. Ft. Lauderdale Spring Break in the 80s says it all. Hollywood Sportatorium. My mom wanted to throw my stereo out and me too. Lol
sadly everything in life has an ending , we have to face it sooner or later , I grew in the 80's hearing this music and now I've found a new life after in this 21st century and I can say for sure this time is better than I was younger ,
We had the best times 80's 90's

Take me back to the 80s without all my effing bullies. Love to see them now and show them how I triumphed over the fears using their negative energy.
God and Metal helped through those dark days in the early 80s 😢

This album is an absolute masterpiece 🤘🤘🤘🤘
It certainly is !

Lay it down was so overplayed in the 80s then again so was YIL video I know it off by heart. This band was so underrated it’s a shame Crosby passed because they still would be playing.

Robin King Crosby and Warren Demartini were a incredible pair. Their guitar arrangements and playing are very good.
Rest in peace ROBIN🤘💚🤘
Understatement of the year 😊
Juan Crouser is the unsung hero.
Tbh everyone who's played on Ratt albums is underrated, especially for such a massive band.
he is dead?
BEST ALBUM COVER IN HISTORY 😍
Smokin hot
Hot but sugar Ray's lemonade and brownies is all time winner!!
I still remember when I got the cassette recorded by a friend of mine, with Dokken.s Tooth and Nail on the other side. Yall know the rest. 80's for life.
Dude you rock! When I read your post I literally laughed out loud! Rock on!
Me and my girlfriend my custom van 16 years old summer of 85 a young man couldn't ask for anything better what an awesome decade to live in awesome music
Did you pound her in the back of that van?????😬
fuckin A!
I’m still in my van. It’s a bed on wheels. Girls surrender the booty to this album too. Been. You’re in trouble what are you gonna do?
30 years later and I still got killer taste in music
More?
What an odd coincidence, me as well.
Oh yeah!
I don't think there is a bad song on this entire album. I love them all.
Yea Russ I think your right. Met the man in person in Connecticut. Big disappoint. Oh well.
He played Mohegan sun casino...I'm pretty sure he was drunk and didn't give a shit about his performance. Met him later in the elevator and he was very rude. No class.
LAME as fresh dogshit!!
Yeah, someone once said "Never meet your heroes."
Out of The Cellar is still way better than all the others.
So Blessed to be around back when this cassette hit yeah Cassette
Old school. I dig....
One of the few albums you can listen to many times over and it hardly ever gets boring. A true phenomenon.
Agreed ❤

2023 and still...This album is everything.

One of the best of the 80's! Still rocking this!
Great albums are like a time machine for the soul. The best memories of our youth, available on command....
Just push play! ❤

I heard a good quote about a year ago. "Art (paint, sculpture, etc. I assume), decorates space. Music decorates time."
There's obvious overlap, but I thought it was profound 🤷♂️
Great comments, and so true.
Absolutely, NO better decade 80’s everything .....about, it was AWESOME!!!
Sure wish; I could relive the 80’s over and over and over, again!

Like Groundhog Day.
Good movie.
Saw them in concert back in the day. Kick ass show!
Love this album. Never gets old.
Hauling ass down thrill hill in my cousin's car with my brothers and other cousins with this cassette blasting,we were teenagers, the first time I heard Ratt.
Ratt n roll memories!!!💀🎸
We have a trill hill in my city where u from. To see if we are connected.
Cassette tapes.....what a fabulous era!

Great album. Nice cover too.
I agree 👍
Superb album. Every song is great. Not one bad song!!!!
RATT owned the 80s
58 yrs old seen back when they were touring this album at the coliseum in El Paso Texas killed it
love this album especially the way it rocks thru the whole thing without been interrupted by cheesy power ballad.
I agree to a point, Toshi....There HAVE BEEN some Kick-Ass Power ballads that FLAT-OUT rocked & weren't cheesy!! Starting with Lynyrd Skynyrd, Poison, Cinderella, Led Zepellin, Molly Hatchett, Ozark Mountain Daredevils, The Allman Bro's, .38 Special, Journey, Hard Line, Damn Yankees, Priest, Maiden, Scorp's, etc....To name JUST a few.........
my thoughts
*Bulletboys* first album also went Platinum without a ballad.
The song on this album, Closer To My Heart, is a power ballad, and it ain't cheesy.
That guitar sound. You heard it, you knew who it was. Warren stood out in a time when it was very easy to get lost in a crowd of “look at me” guitar players.
Agreed, the exact same for Mick Mars, listen to the riffs.
@@thebeardedmanswoodshop2611 Yes, sir…another icon. You put another guitar player in Motley…it’s not Motley.
Warren was the best guitarist in that time yes. In loving you is a dirty job was his best in my opinion an my fav.
@@devinmichaels6822 Yes…”Loving You Is A Dirty Job”….another great tune! The flip side of that single was “What’s It Gonna Be”…which was off Reach for the Sky. Another awesome tune!!! They wanted to still promote Reach for the Sky….even though Detonator was out.

It's strange, coming back to this music at 52 and realizing just how both really bad, and really good it was.
Holy Shit ! The whole album is smoke stack lightning
Songs well spent youth.........🏃
Not a bad or meh tune on it..👍😎🎸🤘
Smoke stack --- Hell Yea --
Yes it's well composed melodies and, no, it's not holy *** . Matthew 12:36 "But I tell you that men will give an account on the day of judgment for every careless word they have spoken." I wish they quit abusing the word 'holy' these secularist writers as a trade for curse slang for something awesome. Such slang abusers don't even know what proper speech/writing means in the Bible or just don't care because secular/liberal/flexible/crass/emotional norms/freedom of unfettered expression is what matters more to them. Who has more authority on speech Jesus/God or them unrestrained mortals?
The opening chords of Never Use Love: Kneel in f**king obeisance at the metal majesty.
Underrated, under appreciated during the mid-to-late 80’s. My favorite back in the day…
LMAO! They were headlining arenas and enjoying heavy radio and MTV airplay during the mid-to-late 80's, not sure how that equates to being "underrated and under appreciated."
A while back I found a diary from when I was 7 years old. In it I had written that my favorite song was Lay it Down by Ratt 😎
The best hair Band ever!
I’m still here and listening to Ratt.. I was 15 when this came out
I was 9 when this album dropped lol. But i didn't hear it til i was 11. I saw the tape in Peaches in 87 and thought it was new and been listening to it ever since
No.1 Glam metal album of the great 80's ! I swear ❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️ and I mean it
Exactly.!
Bitchen album.80s forever rocking out at seal beach.and boogie boarding everyday.
I need time machine to go back 80's era ...!!!!👍
we all do and just stay there
I got this when it was new on cassette. I wore it out in my Pioneer in dash unit. A couple years after this release I found a girl that looked just like the album cover girl as seen here, lucky me... she is 52 now.... It was back when life was kinda fun, instead of the boring drudgery it is now.
Why is s it that 30+ years later this still is KILLER?!!? 🤘
I remember Lay it Down being premiered on Metal Shop a week or 2 before the album came out and recording It on my boom box. I was floored!!! I was 13.
I was in my 72 pinto that had a good stereo in it worth more than the car when that first riff I thought oh shit turn this mf UP! ksjo a rock station in San Jose now it's a Spanish station lol

Ratts melodic solos ALWAYS gets me. Phenomenal album.
After all, the sound of the guitar is the best. 🎸🎸🎸😆👍♪
Warren, Crosby and Lynch all used Marshall amps and Seymour Duncan pickups.
What you give is what you get
Ratt, on this tour, was my first concert and Bon Jovi opened for them in Indianapolis - Market Square Arena! GREAT album!!! Warren is, WITHOUT QUESTION, one of THE MOST UNDERRATED guitar players, NOT just of the eighties, but I think EVER!!!
What a great record!
THEY CALLED IT AIR METAL ... but damn it , those guys had guts ' n balls !!!
Last year we took you Round and Round and this year we're gonna Lay It Down.
I was at this show back then and that was what Stephen said before the encore which was Lay it Down..Good times!✌️😎
All of the songs are incredible , and excellent riffs
My favorite band in high school 84, 85 . Yup and there was motley crue and twited sister.
Twisted Sister
I was lucky enough to see Ratt 4 times as a teenager in the 80's, and this album was a big deal back then!

Love it Ratt & Roll
DiMartini is a wizard. Amazing, arthritis causing finger placement. A great player.
this is my favorite Ratt album
I love You RATT ❤️
I grew up in the 80's with the best rock music ever. Ratt rocks!!!!!!!
Hands down their beset album. I went to two concerts on this album with Poison opening. Playboy model Marianne Gravatte on the cover, also made an appearance in the "Lay It Down" music video
With-out a doubt this was only one of many anthems back in the day when you hit the avenue and pitch a cruise down Pacifc avenue , Stockton California. Summer nights, bright 🔆 Streetlights and 4.5 miles. Americana at its purest form. Hot rods, Hot broads and a place to celebrate 🎉.
Omg, that was EXACTLY what my late brother did back then! I lived in Stockton from 80-83 but my oldest brother stayed there and told me the tales of Pacific Ave. Bless your heart. Ratt and Roll!!
After hearing this album just one time after all these years I can't stop playing it it is got to be one of those righteous anthems ever
@@MichaelCescato Dude I it was the bomb and let me tell you this I got more tail had more fun and it was American Graffit,i it's Last Breath apparently, it still could happen again. Warren de martini and Stephen pearcy ...wonderful.
So glad I grew up in the 80s
I wish I did
This fucking album, what a masterpiece. Most people look back on their youth with some cringe, but goddamn I had some good taste. Despite diving into the metal deep end in the late 80's with thrash and what was to become prog metal, THIS defined my early love of heavy music. Brilliant, tasteful guitar work and composition. Ratt was my band, and fuck everything else \m/
Великолепный альбом!
First time listening 🤘🤘🤘
I bought this cassette brand new back in the 80s. Jovan Musk, A fast car, and this cassette guaranteed a guy to get laid.😁👍
Nowadays asking girls out is illegal.
Probably.

Long live Ratts music , it's as great today as it was when we rocked the 80s
To me, this album is a humid summer, about 1a.m., windows down, CRANKED!
There were a handful of these type of bands that were really talented. Dokken, Whitesnake, Ratt, I know I'll think of more, but these guys all could write and play
Sadly, the *Ratt* vocalist does not measure up to the other two mentioned.
I think they would have been even more sucessful with a better singer.
This album is taking me back! Love it! Thanks for Laying it Down Brother
🎸🎤
One of my favs!
Kick up the RATT and play it loud to shake me till I'm out of control. I play my technics stereo equipment with six feet tall speakers. I have thousands of vinyl albums and that's not enough. I never listened to UA-cam until 2 years ago. Nothing but a hell of a good stereo equipment to Rock my ass away. I love Rock N Rollin, Rhythm N Blues, Boogie N Woogie and the Rockin Blues.
technics, vinyl and big speakers are THE way to listen to music.. for sure.. closest to a good solid club gig sound in my opinion
