I'm 56 and I still sit on the floor in front of my Cerwin Vega DX-9 speakers and listen to this CD at ridiculous volume. The production is incredible.
It kicks!!!
Me too, except that I'm 54.
I have a feeling we could be best friends. For life. KILLER ALBUM. ZERO FILLER. LOOOOVE EMPIRE.
Me too, except I am 68
Cerwin Vegas are the best !
I'm 150 years old and been dead for 3 decades my headstone is a marshall stack and I crank this sh*t up everyday!
LMAO.
Now that’s some funny $hit right there.
Hilarious 😂
Ya lookin good buddy
AWESOME
My brother that was killed in a motorcycle accident at 21, Silent Lucidity was his favorite song. Years later my dad was put into hospice care for one day and got the phone call in the morning that I needed to hurry and get there because he didn't have much longer. I drove to hospice house and just as I pulled into parking lot Silent Lucidity came on the radio. I went inside and my dad had just passed. 😢😮
Ive truly believe that was my brother coming to help him on his journey to heaven. To coincidental.❤❤
No coincidences ! So sorry for your losses ..❤️
That is BEAUTIFUL Brotha! God Bless you! You will think of them everytime you hear this song as both your brother and now pops will be rocking in Heaven!
Wow God bless u 🙏
Condolences to you and your Family. ✝️

you 72 wao.. You lived the great 60's. I was hoping I was born to see the incredible 60's.
I always tell people its the best album you've never heard of, by the best band you've never heard of, 30 years and still brilliant
Like Chris DeGarmo said, they have the smartest fans
I'm 51 and still listening to this gem of an album. Today there is no new music of this quality. Thank you Queensryche!
you are mostly correct. Tool, however, is a band of today that matches Queensryche and may even surpass them.
hey I'm 60 and I'm still rocking to this album
IM 59 THEY HOLD UP THROUGH TIME
I love this group!❤
I'm the younger 49, is magic this music
Listening to this to remember an old friend who recently passed away. We would listen to Queensryche all the time. Good old days. How life changes 😮💨
Life indeed does change, and as we age it really changes.....faster....
I’m sorry U lost U friend
Sorry for your loss. I listened to Queensryche to remind me of an old friend who was killed. We were both huge fans. I really miss him.
These musicians are phenomenal, I'm 69 and still turn up the volume for Jeff and his clan...priceless!
54 yrs old. Brings back memories of a time before we all hated each other.
"Read between the lines. Criticize the wars they're selling...the walls become sand."😥
Absolutely!
True Story!
And before members of queensryche hated each other too.
I never live the way media propagates false narratives to the masses, I don't hate anyone. After all we all become sand through the hourglass of the real.
Yes their social commentary got dismissed bach then but they were dead on revolution calling describes the last 30 yrs on a worsening level Geoff just came to va beach but I couldn't make it
After all these years, Queensryche never fades. I love this band!

ONE OF THE BEST ALBUMS EVER PRODUCED
I was born when this album came out! My mother said she would always listen to Silent Lucidity when she was pregnant, understandably. I was born to love this album!
Hey it's never too early to rock and roll
Special memory. Keep it alive!
My first was born around that time. If she had been a boy her name was going to be Rycher.
@matthewchappell2306 that's so freaking cool man.
I was introduced to queensryche in 85 by my neighbor, RFO albumn. And it changed mylife forever. Im now 52 and when i listen to this albumn i almost tear up a bit because its absolutely so timeless. I wish for one day i could go back to 90-91 and listen and feel like i did when it first came out. Geoff will always be my hero and absolute favorite singer, Degarmo and wilton will never ever be duplicated and eddie and scott will never be matched. This band was heaven sent and are absolutely so under valued. And yes this lineup, the real Queensryche should absolutely be in the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame.
The hell with the RRHF in my mind they already are and that's all that counts when it comes to music. Turn others on to the masterpiece and listen to them say thanks 100 times.
I'm a 80's guy, but 1990-'91 was an awesome year for music. I find myself singing these songs in my head 30+ years after hearing them for the first time.
I am a 61-year-old guy, and I feel the same. When our time comes, and we go home to our Father and his son Jesus, we will see them in concert and hear them on records or CDs again. We are not dying, "@Scottocaster6668," if you believe in the Father and his son Jesus. We go from our physical form to our spiritual form. That is all I know. My sweet, tiny little black Chihuahua, my mom, my papa, and myself will go to Father. One last thing: do not be afraid of the dead. It is just a process through which we will have to go so we can go to the Kingdom of our Father, and to reach our Father, we have to accept that we believe in Jesus. Believe, my friend. Take care, and enjoy life here and there. 🐈👨👩👦 my tiny little Chihuahua, my mom and papa.
Anybody Listening is my favorite track from this great piece of work from Queensryche. 🤘🤘
Hand on heart is mine mate

This album stands the test of time. It's a Masterpiece! Thank you Queensryche!❤❤❤❤❤
Yeah. Ive seen them 5 times. Incredible
The eighties, iif you can remember them never forget them.
I'm 54 and I turn this up FULL BLAST in my recording Studio and it's sound proofed...Undoubtedly one of the most under rated albums of all time. Della, Empire, Anybody, Paris, Secret SICK!! Anyone notice its RARE to see a cover band play even one of their songs.?.?. Mind Crime...goodness Gracious...Queensryche is one of the FEW bands I will put on and play Guitar with...just a BLAST!!
There are few people to sing like Tate and play as tight as this band!
My old band used to do some Queensryche back in my touring days....." I don't believe in love", "Jet city woman", " best I can" ect. but the one that always blew them away was "Empire". Ahh, the good old days lol
I never thought of this album as being underrated. It certainly had lots of radio air time. MTV was all over Silent Luc lol.
I think the technicalities of their music is too complicated for most cover bands.
turn youe sound DOWN, you're losing your hearing!!
What a melodic classical rock song: Anybody listening?
I'm 127 and remember listening to this album in the womb. All these years later, I still put this on my wax cylinder and blast it in my antique closet!
😂funny
I was born in 1990. My mother played Silent Lucidity for me when I was in her womb. It had nothing to do with the fact that I believe this album to be the greatest of all time. And I didn't get to really appreciate it until it's 10 year anniversary at least.
Edit: I posted a similar comment to this a year ago and forgot about it... This album has such an impact on me...😂
I was born in 1990 also. 👍
I was placed in foster care at the age of 4, had two older foster brothers who turned me on to rock and roll and music was my comfort through out my lonesome road and I was blessed to live in the golden age of great music, call me a caveman I'm just lost in time and I will always be! Nothing compares to the older generations who grew up listening to the best bands ever to blow your fucking mind!
I still can't believe it, I love it. I used to sit... Soo stoned, and just chill with Queensryche!
Ricky
I'm 59 and I love Queensryche always have always will! Hail to the RYCHE!!!

Best mistake a guy could have made
I'm 16 and just discovered this band after looking into skid row. Sounds pretty good
Their manicure here in Florida as far as radio play goes was " The thinking Man's rock band" All I know is it was technical progressive metal at it's finest.
This is one of the few soundtrack sfor my time during the Gulf War
50 and still love this album as i did when it came out.

Although, all their albums were great! I believe that the greatest album was Operation Mindcrime. Because that was what opened me up to what brought me to how I've come to understand the world for what it is today. It to me is quite amazing when I look back at the things that actually influenced me in this life. While appreciating what brought me here. Sorry! Went way off the beaten path. They were to me, one of the greatest bands I had ever heard.
If your Wayne Douglas .. Hell yes it is ..Shane wright
I had the immense pleasure to listen live mr. Tate recently, singing all " Empire " songs. My fav album above others, and in my humble opinion an unbeaten masterpiece in so many aspects.
Written in 2023, just sayin.
Snuck into the Pensacola civic center to watch this band in 1989 what a concert I will never forget it.
I was a rigger at the civic center for years and also set up this show and have to say it was one of the best productions ever at the civic center
Yep. Saw them open for Def Lepperd on this tour. They should’ve headlined.
Fantastic album! Funny to see how bad we thought we had it in the 80's compared to now lmao...if only we could go back
I saw Queensryche in concert in Denver in the early 90's. Throughout my adult life I have replayed these songs in my head and realized the prophecies of this group as I have witnessed life unfold to the point we are at today. Empire is crazy profound. Open your eyes.
Everyone of their albums are brother. They drive a powerful message
You're right! Brother killing brother for the profit of another!
Speak the word "Revolution" we're all about to find out what they were singing about as you so brilliantly put it, realize the prophecies. It's going to be a true Warning to The Rage for Order that's coming.
Kickass album!

Rumour has it Jeff was a classically trained operatic vocalist as a child. As far as I know there's but a handful of rock singers who can make that claim.

Nope... and the 90ties very the best.

Totally depends on your age and era of music. I would say the 70's as that was my formative years; ACDC / Kiss / Lizzy / Rush / Priest/ Zeppelin/ Quo / Sabbath / Bad Co / the list is endless.

The third piece of the Queensryche holy trinity (Rage / Mindcrime / Empire).
I remember the first time I listened to this CD. I knew then that it was the peak for Queensryche. The musicianship and the production at its optimal level.
I read that one of the main reasons that DeGarmo left was frustration that Empire could never be exceeded.
No problem. Nothing can exceed perfection.

When I listen this album I regret the band separation , because they made a masterpiece.
Sounds great. If only DeGarmo had stayed on a few albums more. If only...
He stayed on for two more albums after Empire. And contributed in the studio for another.
I saw them live on their Empire tour and literally rang in the New Year with them Dec 31, 1990 at the Seattle Center. They played mostly songs from Empire and Mindcrime at that show. I also got to meet Geoff Tate and Chris DeGarmo at the NAMA awards at the Moore Theater in Seattle. Geoff was very gracious to this shy 16 year old girl that I was at the time, and Chris was really sweet. 😁
Saw them in Minneapolis and they performed the whole Mindcrime and Empire albums, was in the nosebleed but it didn't matter..
Nice to hear. He must have been in a bad mood when I met him.
3rd time
Caught that Empire tour when performed entire Op Mindcrime & incredible show. I recall it was barely 1 yr after Op MC tour. Although I’m only 61 now sadly I don’t really remember much of my 1st QR concert-in 86 or 87 for Rage…. 🤔

This for me was the last true Ryche record for me. Sooo many memories.
One thing I love about them was they were probably the only hard rock/metal band that had a pronounced and loud bassline that you could hear on the record. Rare in those days.
