Followed Hot Tuna on Long Island whenever they showed up. Went to show at Long Island Arena. It started at about 8pm. But it didnt finish until 4am! When I got home my dad said " Out a little late?" I said " ...yes. And we left early!" Good times.
I only ever give videos a thumbs up--the ones I like. If I don't like a video, I just leave and move on to one I do like. Never have time for thumbs down.
@@brendasmart553sorry,but you are mistaken,if you look to where it says something like “station “on the wall, and pause it and zoom it , you will see jack playing bass
@@nickbaldwin1668 Well nick if you look at both the thumbnail for this vid which he clearly is on that beautiful mandolin, not his usual bass AND look in the vid for he plays that same beautiful mandolin, you do know what they look like yes, or not?? ✌️😘
Sweet! Wish the mike could have picked up the mandolin a little better. Jack understands Jorma's attack so well... he's so "in tune", all the time! ^..^
To Eyesthatshine sounds like from 1972 but from the Guitar it's pretty recent. the first time I saw Jorma use that guitar was 3 years ago in Rutland VT for an electric tour. He wasn't using it when I saw them play at Fur Peace Ranch. For what it's worth. I'd say fairly recent last year or 3 ago.
Just sayin....with all the shows he's done you would think he'd tell the sound mix to bring Jorma's vocal up front more! I couldn't hear him sing at times. Great version!
Does anyone know who added (if it was added) the lines '"I wish I was a headlight on a North- bound train?"( REPEAT).." I'd shine my light through the cool Colorado rain" Was it Roiert Hunter orJorma K?
Alive because we're tough guys. True tough guys I mean; not douchebags in the street that want to mug and take your money, but tough guys because we're still around despite the fact that life beats the shit out of you then comes back for more.
I love Hot Tuna but once the mandolin started playing electric they lost me. I will always love Jorma and Jack but I sort of peaked with Hot Tuna in 1978-9 after that the crowds changed and the vibe was not the same. Saw Hot Tuna one last time in New York at the beacon theater it was like a folk reunion not the Rock Band Hot Tuna sometime in the 2000s. Some things are just better when your young!!
What does Jerry have to do with this? The Dead's version was great, but it was the Dead. Nothing to do with this or the original Hot Tuna version. I'm not being mean, I swear, but I'm curious about the association.
ok is ther a band that kimmock does not make alien status great the answer is no kimmock is the greatest haha oh wait the little riffs and solo garcia does on the final so many roads in the greatest haha but steves a close second lol go ahead
I have followed Hot Tuna for 47 years, hope to follow them another 47!! Wonderful music
Me too, fist album Yellow Fever on some great weed
Yes, me too! They are unique and still sound like they always have. I think this is a Gary Davis song.
10 years later & Jorma has been entertaining us throughout Covid every Saturday night. Keep on trucking' our blues away.
Thanks for the whole quarantine series live from FUR Peace Ranch
I have loved Hot Tuna for years and seen them many times and I still can't get enough of them !
Thanks for the post.
This was April 2011 -- for those of you who wanted to know.
another great performance from one of the greatest bands around
Barry Mitterhoff produces orgasmic music with his playing. Absolutely incredible!
OLD LORD WE ARE GETTING OLD. AT LEAST WE ARE STILL ALIVE. OH HELL YES
I wanna grow up to be Jack Casaday. Met theze guyze backstage once, a high point of my life.
Live long and prosper, Jorma and Jack.
My first concert was 1973 Stony brook college was hooked ever since
Brings me back , and forth, and back again.
Could this be......Rock and Roll .......
AhhhhhhYes ! Thanks for the post, you must be an old friend .
God, this kicks it! Best version of this song I have ever heard.
Did my heart good to see/hear this on a beautiful morning! Hairs on my arms are sticking up!

This is some primo stuff, Hot Tuna laying it down...
How could anyone put a thumb down on this? My goodness, it's flawless.. and fun to watch and listen to from beginning to end..

Rest In Peace Papa John!!!
Loving Jack on the mandolin!!!☮️
Not Jack, he’s on bass
@@nickbaldwin1668 Normally yes but here if you look closer, Jack is jammin' the mandolin!!!

Watching and listening to this recording makes me smile.
Loving this. Can't get enough!
2020 needs more of this.

Oh, how I'd love to visit Ranch Fur Peace to hear Hot Tuna there and see the laberynth of Jorma's place!
Saw these guys several times ,not really sure why they don’t spend more time together Barry blew me mind!!!
Oh, thank you, I needed this today, right now. Seen y'all all over the place, so this is a fine mem-more-y!
Always the best! Always.
Man ... got to love those boyz !
Luv Hot Tuna, Steve K., and the FPR!!!
Jorma gives big hugs. Got one at the Jubilee couple years ago.

Lovely video production.

Only way this could have been better was if it had gone on twice as long!!
Keep on truckin' Jorma and Jack!
...well, THAT and if you & *I* were both there !! Love how Barry picked up the whole pace (and band !!) @ 3:20~ !!!
Thats how it's done!
wow!
This is a great version of a great song!
thanks for the real rock and roll!
🙌 Steve
@steveshowse and for every rough show you saw in the 'Touch Head' days, there were 10 great ones. FACT.
Jorma's Grand old Opre!
Love it!!
Sweet! Wish the mike could have picked up the mandolin a little better.
Jack understands Jorma's attack so well... he's so "in tune", all the time!

What fun! HT, you buggers rock!
Got here from Marty Stuart and The Fabulous Superlatives doing I Know You Ride Her.

My Backdoor Someday !!
It's what we are
Honestly don't like tuna, but really dig Hot Tuna.
Great Garcia-esque solo from the Strat player.

stupenda
Ok this is surely nice. What year was this?
This would fall flat without Jack's eyebrows which are the force behind all that is good in music.
As good as it gets.
my ring tone...
Athens County is Cool Ohio for sure
Meigs County
Brother's an OU grad. I've driven by Coolville OH many a time. LOL

Barry has a miniature Direct TV satellite dish on his mandolin.

Just getting warmed up.
Hot fuckin tuna!!
Yo 2 faced moon & other naysayers... SHUT YER YAPPERS!!! ;o) even jerry & bob would love this version. show a little respect will ya?
What is that guitar Jorma is playing?
I saw an real electric, I know you Rider with a rare wawa , New Paltz NY 1975
was it Draper's Music in Palo Alto? or where???
Had to be at least the 90s; that guitar didn't come out till around 93. And they'd all be dead if this were from the 70s!
I got confuse by an old memory of an album cover with Jerry on it. Now that I think on it, I think it was new riders of the purple sage. Sorry
Tasty nug!
I love Hot Tuna but once the mandolin started playing electric they lost me. awesome man .... love the dead.... from ohio
Who is Barry Mitterhoff?
Wait a minute...I missed that name before. Don't fuck with me now, but are you Robbie Kreiger of the Doors?
This is the raw Ameriicana antithesis to over-produced Daryll's House vids.
What does Jerry have to do with this? The Dead's version was great, but it was the Dead. Nothing to do with this or the original Hot Tuna version. I'm not being mean, I swear, but I'm curious about the association.
fur peace was all about yorma.

im not sure the dead ever sounded so good ;) I love Jerry and the boys to death but man did they play alot of 'rough' shows.
electric acoustic
these guys are great but id rather see the airplane
dam i miss Jerry, but not bad, no not bad at all!!!

This doesn't even compare to the Grateful Dead version.
