Your videos are really excellent Will. I've watched most of this series and I have now bought this kit to build whilst re-watching. It will be the third kit that I will have built since coming back to the hobby after more than 40 years.
As a lapsed aircraft modeler returning to the fold after around a decade or two I have been binge watching your vids, much to the wife's annoyance, and they've been a god send. I've learned so much and want to give a big thumbs up thank you.
Will, I’ve been kicking around this planet for nearly 70 years. Attitude says a lot about a person. Great people have great attitudes (like you) and personalities to match. People with bad attitudes, I generally ignore. They’re not worth the effort. Been modelling for at least 60 years and STILL learning stuff. Like the pliers with the anvil. Definitely going to get some. Got a Spit in the works (Tamiya of course) but I’m going to hold off finishing until you get to that point. Cheers, keep up the great videos.
I like the long format videos. I’ve said it before, you’re an excellent teacher. I’ve been building models a long time and I learn something from you every time. Thanks for making these videos. I appreciate it.
Kit arrives tomorrow and I'm super excited to take my time and the enjoy the process with your videos as a guide. Thanks so much for taking the time to put these up! Should get me through the neverending UK lockdown...
Thank you! This is exactly what I’ve been looking for - not only the how but also the why for everything. Extremely educational for my level of modeling, which I would call advanced beginner. Thank you! Thank you!
thanks for taking time out of your day to do a viedo series as this. ive been hoping someone would do.the hows the whys the tools.im really looking foward to the rest. have a great day.
I love a coincidence!! I just bought this model two days ago, and was really looking forward to building it. Will, I admire your work immensely and I think this will be a great learning experience for me.
I really don't care what the other people say I'm here to watch you do your videos anyway you want if I don't like the subject at the time I don't have to watch it I'm nothing tell you what to do you do a great job as it is keep up the great work cheers with a beer
The lever you struggled to identify is the pump handle for the undercarriage hydraulics fitted to the early Mk1's. I have the same kit in my stash so I am keen to watch your video series. Cheers.
Thanks for the great video Will. I consider myself an intermediate modeler but I learned a lot. I'm looking forward to watching the rest of the series.
G’day, Will. I just wanted to thank you for taking the time to record, edit and post your series of excellent modelling vblogs. It’s a big effort and greatly appreciated 👍 Kudos to you for contributing to the overall betterment of the hobby, by assisting other modellers with your useful tutorials and expertise. Keep up the great work in 2020 👌 Wishing you and your family, a very Merry Christmas 🎄🎅 and a prosperous new year.
Will: I enjoy your videos, good job. One reason is the depth of detail, by-in-large (pun intended...a nautical term, as a Navy Vet I enjoy building ships). But because I do pay pretty close attention to your words I decided to order from Amazon and Tamiya 1/48 Spitfire MK1 that will be here is a week or so. I will follow along at your pace and look forward to joyful and meaningful results ;-)... Take care...
Great , always built armour just recently started doing 1/32 aircraft it's a different animal.so looking forward to the series. Kind regards Tom from dark cold Glasgow Scotland.
Hello Will, I'm a bit late catching your video of the beautiful Spitfire by Tamiya. But since I have this kit I think your take is very important and explanation of why when how exceptional. History of DW-K? It was actually a Mk.Ia Spitfire of 610 squadron at Biggin Hill which was one of THE front line Battle of Britain bases. DW-K survived the Battle of Britain but was written off in 1941 when the pilot failed to notice a tree. Pilot fine, plane wrecked. FYI the Spit might be beautifu, iconic and all that but I am, and always have been a Hurricane man. The forgotten fighter. On with the video which I am liking very much. Regards from England.
I'm keen to work along with this. My aircraft modelling skills are ... not great. I have also wanted to purchase this model for a while. What great timing.

Hi Will. This build could not have come at a better time. A fairy has whispered in my ear that I am getting the very same kit for Christmas. So I will be following the build with interest. Although I wouldnt call myself a begginer I look forward to see how you overcome any little curve balls get sent along the way and your thoughts regarding paint etc. Merry Christmas and healthy New Year from across the pond in the UK. Tony
Will, Great video, as usual. I always enjoy watching your stuff. As for dealing with the remaining sprue gate material, might I suggest a pair of good quality cuticle cutters from your local drug store? They are rarely good for removing parts directly from the sprue due to the internal angle of the blades, but if held against the part properly, always make a beautiful, flush cut when removing the sprue gate remnants. You're sure to find them quite handy for a variety of modeling situations. Thanks for sharing and happy holidays.
I saw you shaking the Tamiya thin bottle, not sure if you know this but the brush can be extended by giving it a little tug. Thx for all the effort you put into you're vids.
Really looking forward to this series Will. I like the longer videos; 10 minutes of random has it's place but, for a build like this, you can cover so much more in a decent-length video. Have a great Christmas/New Year, Cheers for now,🍻🎅 Dougie. (a few hours north of Glasgow, in the cold, dark, wet Scottish Highlands)
Looking forward to this...I've been modelling for years, but I always love seeing others workflows...have you ever considered doing a Twitch build? Or even a live one on UA-cam?
I just ordered the Spitfire Mk 24. Have you already done a video or could you do one in the future? The Spitfire is my favourite plane since I was a boy and now in combat flight simulators. Time for me to have a model of one.
Hi Will: Just wanted to ask about your sprue cutters. Do you have the model number for them. I reviewed the video several times but missed it if it’s there. Thanks and MerryChristmas!
It will be good to see you build with all the basics. It is always good to see how other people do it. BTW - you do not pronounce the W in Bromwich it is the usual English weird pronunciation thing.
Nice video Will, I have a tendency of adjusting the parts before commit to glue, so in the case of that panel line little alignment difference I would be scraping the flange on the insert until I get the parts to level out, I did that with the door of the Corvette from Revell (witch have a serious alignment issue) and it worked perfectly, I have saw people gluing it in place and sanding down later but it deforms the outer shape of the car and affects the side highlight reflections, ( I recognize that it's not a problem you are going to find on a WW2 airplane tough...) check what I'm talking about here in this video at 2:36 ua-cam.com/video/z7k_3FEM4xw/v-deo.html
Damn dude, need to change your shirt after you play with the family pets and do a video. Either that or you have a serious shedding problem of your own..;) Regardless thanks a ton for the close up inside the mind of Will Pattison the model master (wasnt as scary as they have said it would be)...;)
Nice quality, but so much mistake in the kit :( 1. the Seat is wrong for MKI, these flare racks were not installed on the seat. 2. armour mounting screws on the back rest frame.. also wrong for a MKI. They were introduced later. 3. the metal bar was not fitted to the MKI doors
AAARrrrGgggHhhh less talk more do. I was hoping for an exciting build - not tool reviews, not rabbit about the build instructions, just get on with it! I have now skipped on & on looking for the build got to the end bored as hell.

Your video tutorials are by far the best on UA-cam. Thank you for posting.
Dear sir,
this is already proving to be a precious help to my return to scale modelling, after a 20 years hiatus.
Thank you very much and best wiahes.

Came for the build video.. Left with an appreciation of snip design.. New favourite series right here.

I don't care how long your segments are as long as I can learn to be a better modeler , and with you I do.
You’re a great mentor Will. This video series will sure be an asset and wealth of information, cheers 🍻
Keep them coming, the fundamentals are great. Thank you. Happy Holidays.

Thanks for helping a newbie to build better kits.
Very interested in this video series. Super stoked..
Will, even though I only build model cars I always learn so much from you videos.

Thanks for the great video Will. I consider myself an intermediate modeler but I learned a lot. I'm looking forward to watching the rest of the series.
The models you build are always very impressive but after seeing the hands that you have to work with im even more imprpessed.
G’day, Will.

im so glad your doing this i would really look forward to learning from you
Don't forget the end of your TET brush can be extended to get to the bottom of the bottle :-)
I didnt know that, thanks !
This is super helpful. Thank you Mr. Pattison.
Good video. Always looking for time saving techniques.
Will...This should be an interesting video build series as it is always entertaining to hear your thoughts & comments on model building.

Castle Bromwich as a silent 'W'. 😉

When I was young there was a liquid glue called MEK Pack. Exacty the same as Tamiya extra thin, only without the brush in thè lid.
Even if you don't use one for building or painting, it would be a good idea to use an optivisor for checking the parting lines!
If you don't use the landing gear lever, you are going to have a panicking pilot, and a bloody furious squadron commander!
Will,
Great video, as usual. I always enjoy watching your stuff.

Dougie. (a few hours north of Glasgow, in the cold, dark, wet Scottish Highlands)
I think the lever was for manually raising the landinng gear!
Very useful for a born-again modeller, as a point of information, we do not pronounce the 'w' in Bromwich - it sounds like 'Cassle Brommitch'
Great stuff, Will. Do you wash your sprues b4 prime paint?
nope. it's a waste of time almost all the time.
@@barpfoto … so the information that the parts are covered in release agent are wrong?
@@ernestgalvan9037 yep. almost always.

Like the idea 💡 but gangster bro when I get to this kit I like it to be a surprise ...
Hi Will: Just wanted to ask about your sprue cutters. Do you have the model number for them. I reviewed the video several times but missed it if it’s there. Thanks and MerryChristmas!
they do seem nice
Actually the Spitfire was made at Castle Bromwich from the Mk II onward. Sorry about the small nitpick.
Oh and a very merry Christmas HoHoHo and a partridge and a pear tree
Tom
Who manufactures the sprue cutters?
What happened to the model factory Hiro Brough Superior?
With airplanes, it's nose-to-tail... 😉
It will be good to see you build with all the basics. It is always good to see how other people do it.

Like "Edinbur-ah"?
Yes like that, but of course that is Scotland and that is a whole new can of worms 😏
👍
Where can we buy those Japanese files?
Will provided more information in Ep 5. The files are Sujiborido.
@@Theadammcfly thank you for follow up

Castle brom witch 🤣👍

That's not the fukken point.
Nothing more boring than watching some geek build a model airplane.
actually, dipshits making pointless youtube comments are a lot more boring.
AAARrrrGgggHhhh less talk more do. I was hoping for an exciting build - not tool reviews, not rabbit about the build instructions, just get on with it! I have now skipped on & on looking for the build got to the end bored as hell.
nobody cares. you should probably find a channel more suited to casual modelers.
