I I don’t play as frequently as I used to and I noticed pain immediately within the first minutes of playing and by using your video it helped me re-introduce a better posture to prevent pain, now that I am rebuilding my practice on the violin again.
anyone suffering with the violin hold 2:40 this is the key to solve your problems. But instead of trying to move any muscle, make full breathings expandin your cheast to make the breastbone (and collarbon) up
Still struggling with this. As soon as I put a bit of pressure on the chinrest, I get a headache. So, I end up holding the violin up with my hand. Won't make progress with vibrato or shifting until this is solved.
One of my violins doesn't have a chin nor a shoulder rest. Those two things were invented for very good reasons, but this violin is still very playable. It does absolutely require a bent wrist, but weirdly enough 1st and 3rd position are easily reachable.
wrong... i've been fiddling (no pun intended) with my violin for a half hour... not only can I not figure out how the hood goes on... but I spent half an hour, possibly to strike frankie. I have no idea how to old this thing.
Be careful then. I had times in my life I got also bad headaches but I could always handle the problem with doing more exercises for my back muscles and overall fitness. It is hard to say what causes the pain in the neck area, I would guess something is pinched when it hurts. You could also concider trying different chinrests and shoulder rests.
The violin hold is definitely an intricate one. If you have neck pain I suggest changing the chinrest and/or shoulder rest and checking in with a doctor if it stays.
@@SimonStreuffViolinEducation I forgot to reply, but thank you for the advice!! I fixed my posture using the video (turns out I realised I never really rotated my head to the right angle and would hold the violin by pressing my head to the side) and I'm gonna get a higher chinrest whenever I can because my violin does not stay straight. Though, neck pain is fixed, so thank you 💛

I use a kun shoulder rest.
Good choice! :) Thanks for teaching me the pronunciation of the word "thumb" btw. I think in this video I did it better?
I feel i need shoulder rest but don’t have it so is still doable
바이올린 들 때 손가락으로 어떻게 받쳐줘야하는지 알려준 유일한 영상...
