From Nicklas to N1KY | Chapter 4: All-Time Great

We've reached part four of our four-part series on Nicklas Bäckström's illustrious career with the Washington Capitals.
In the final installment, we look to Nicky's past (growing up in Gavle, Sweden), his present (his 1000th NHL game) and his future (signed through 2024-25 season) with his sights set on bringing another Stanley Cup to Washington, D.C.

A statue of Backstrom and Ovi holding the Stanley Cup would be awesome. Maybe after they both end up in the HHOF they can put it up outside the arena. I do think he will get in based on the eye test (given he gets to 1000 points, he's at 974 now), but his lack of individual awards will make him wait a few years.

I think you deserve much more deserve and respect you recieve. About recognition, you're recognized in our country for sure. And we love you for being such a great player and a such a humble person.
