    Details , details , details , what size motor , belt size , wheel diameter , etc , etc , etc , and can the music , you can speak , right ? Explain what you are doing with the progression of the build ! This is supposed to be a tutorial video about your grinder build , not a music video !

      Trying to learn something from a video is not trolling , telling me to go boil soak my head and the negative grand dad statement was a personnel attack on me ! You could have left that part out , you chose not to , that's on you ! Big deal , you post videos so what ? Is that your thing , attacking others and putting people down that state things they don't like Dr Jay Tunggvik and threaten them with expulsion from the net and crying to u tube if they disagree with a negative comment you made to them ? No one bullied you , you bullied yourself , my comment was to the maker of the video , not you , you decided to address me negatively , I responded in kind and if that riled you up , that's on you also !
      I hold 3 master degrees Dr. I'm not an idiot I am constantly learning techniques from various videos to help save time and conserve materials on my projects in my hobby work shop . When people post videos with loud distracting music or show a video shut mouthed not explaining details about what they are doing or why they did something a certain way , Who learns what , how talented they are , hey look at me , then it is about them , not the details of the work ! Learning some way of doing something better is a tutorial , explaining what you are doing with helpful details should be the essence of what you are showing , not your hubris or self glorification or loud irritating music that drowns out your explanation of facts and details !
      The next person you address will be a lot nicer to you if you don't tell them to go boil soak their head or grand dad them intending a put down of their character or age or passing judgement on someone you don't know ! I showed my face and gave my name , you showed your dead dog and a computer name to address me , I didn't address you or knew anything about you , you started on me ! Don't put anyone down and it will not come flying back at you , some people are not going to take that sitting or standing !
      I feel your pain about your dog , I lost a parrot I had for 42 years he was my little buddy every bit as painful if l had lost one of my own children , Next time , be nice and it will be returned in kind !

  • @barbarianatgate2000
    @barbarianatgate2000 5 років тому +3

    All in all, not a bad shop build. First thing I notice is that you could save a lot of time truing up the wheels to round if you drill your center hole first, and use it as the anchor point for a router jig, turning the roughed wood past the fixed cutting head. This was clearly the problem, as all of the large drive wheels were uniformly offset from the center spindle.
    I do like that it's a "no weld" project. So many thing I see on here, I think "Great, if I had the money to buy the welding outfit, I'd go get the tool and get back to work!" So that's a nice feature.
    I do agree that I'd like to see more info in terms of motor size, wheel size, belt size, etc. It also makes the assumption that someone has a LOT of extra metal stock sitting around or a decent budget to pick it up.
    But, it seems to do a nice job overall. Very cool.

    I've watched a couple of your videos, they're interesting. I find the comments complaining about your choice of music "amusing" "sad" maybe. Not my choice of music simply resolved. All you music critics out there try using "The mute icon" or "turn the volume right down" if that's to hard for you perhaps you shouldn't be watching videos.
    Great work keep it up my friend.

    I was considering pulling the trigger on a Grizzly belt sander but you could probably build at least 2-3 of these and have money leftover. I was only considering the Grizzly because I don't have a welder (every video upto this one had a design that required it) and buying one to use here and there, I just couldn't justify purchasing a welder. Well done 👏

      It's probably not that he personally needs/can't afford to buy one but that he just made a video demonstrating how to make one (and even if he could buy a professional belt sander/grinder, if he doesn't need that level of one, why buy one when he can make it?)

    • @ioannissitaras2202
      @ioannissitaras2202 3 роки тому

      @@Kurokubi i understand the importance and sense of achievement in making something yourself I love that part. But what I am arguing right here is the fact that he says CHEAP dyi build which clearly it's not. It requires either to buy or to already have professional equipment to do so. Which means you already have the know-how to do a lot of stuff. This video applies only to experienced craftsmen that already have the equipment.

    Great video and you encuraged me to make one for myslef too. I already have a 1,5kw motor and 145mm nylon wheel, question is how did you calculate construction to belt length? I would like to have length that is easiest to purchase, for example 50x150, but I have no idea how to change construction? What about spring? Is it specially selected or just what you have found?

      String. Choose the belt size you want to use, so let's say you want to use 48 inch belts. Put a mark on the string at 48 inches, tape the end of the string to the mark and cut off the excess string. That will give you your belt size. You can then lay out the wheels on a bench and put the string over the wheels to find the distance needed between the wheels. :)

      @@carlb401 You just can't beat simplicity. Going to the workshop right now to start a bench layout.
