    I am absolutely amazed at your ability to make everything multi-functional. It shows you have put much thought into your builds before you even lift a tool.

    Love your vids.
    Sometimes I get so wrapped up in a project that I get frustrated when my kids come in the shop. Then I take a breath and realize they just want to be where you are. I keep a spare ear protection and chair close by in case they just want to watch. One day when they move out I will have my tools but may wish for time back with the little ones.
    Just a thought. Love your builds!

    Hi Young, Nice design. You are one of the few people who use bearings on the wheels and a full shoulder bolt inside the wheels. I am ready to make one for myself. Good inspiration.

      good on you. i will use skateboard wheels, 2 inches diameter for idler, (2 bearings a wheel) and a 5 or 6 wooden, on motor, maybe pvc pipe as outside, as this gentleman did.... 2 x 42 also, check out Jeremy Schmidts' utube videos, he is an excellent designer, builder. tilting on vertical/horizontal axis....amazing....attachments on grind end....stunningly good...

    I think I would've opted for an extra bearing on either side (for a total of 4), but other than that not bad. Over the long term, it will be interesting to see how well the plastic holds up.

    I really like the idea of the PVC for the circumference of your wheels. Are you having in issues with metal filings or debris embedding in them? I would think it is hard enough to prevent picking up any metal particles.

    Motor bike or car inner tube can be cut across to give an outside rubber coating to grip the sandpaper and provide a more forgiving surface

    Hi mr je.... do you use aluminium bars or stainless steel bars for your projects? For your planes i know you used stainless steel bars but im curious about the metal you use for your jigs and machines...

    • @YoungJe
      @YoungJe  7 років тому +1

      There is nothing fixed,
      I used 1018 cold steel mainly to make planes,
      I used aluminum in this grinder,
      It will always change according to the purpose,

    Shouldn't you have the bearings in a steel seat instead of wood? Maybe inset a piece of pipe into the wood first. the bearings are going to eventually become loose in the wood... Maybe then inlet a better seat for the bearings? If you had a lathe it would be easy but I'm afraid it's easier to start over & build the bearing seat first. Then the wheel. Great job though.
