About this car;
This is a "van conversion".
Due to some crazy tax rules in Denmark, as a business you have the possibility to buy cars that has been converted to a "commercial vehicle", by removing the back seats and a lot of other(strict) measures.
No occupants are allowed in the back, you can't use the cargo area to sleep in (if you put a mattress in the cargo area you'll be hauled straight to prison)
All this crap are to get a lower registration tax (tax you pay one time when the car gets danish tags)
to benefit businesses.
But the "problem" was that private citizens could see an opportunity to get a nice car for a low price, if you didn't have any use for the backseats!
Every year we have to pay road tax, and to make a very long and complicated story short, our socialist government put an extra "private user" tax on top of the road tax on this type of vehicle. This was implemented in 1998. The taxes are so high that it completely eliminate any interest in owning this type of vehicle as a private person.
Fortunately this one on the video is from 1997, before this tax was implemented.
In the common people this tax goes by the name “Envy charge”!
Another interesting attempt to save big money in registration tax was this;

Actually on the video there's a google translated newspaper article describing the attempt and our IRS (named SKAT, means darling!!!) ruthless closing it down....

I used to own a 1997 Blazer when I was in high school a few years back, and the thing saved my life when I was struck by a drunk driver in 2016. It flipped twice and ultimately got totaled, but I was unharmed. I wish I had it back. So many memories from back then...

We had one of these back in the '90s and it was great the first time I drove this green Blazer it fits me like the glove, it was an amazing car very comfortable solid. I just wish find one here.

Hej du ;-) ! Ja det er ulovligt at sove omme bag i uanset om den er fra før eller efter 98. Den "eneste" forskel er, at der ikke er misundelsesafgift/privat afbenyttelseafgift FØR 98.
Kører du udenfor Danmarks grænser gælder forbuddet mod at sove omme bagved selvfølgelig ikke!
