  • Aiming for a third Gold with Honour and Distinction in LCM Exam, Alam Shah Wind Orchestra under my baton did the almost impossible task by performing Danse Bacchanale. With just two weeks of rehearsal to practice this challenging piece, ASWO was awarded Gold with Honour at the 4th MIMAF 2017. To make the achievement sweeter, ASWO received a Distinction in Level 5 (Grade 7-8) LCM Examination, making this our double three peat Gold with Honour and Distinction in LCM exam after a long 10 years of waiting. The last hat rick was back in 2005-2007 in the SBPWO Competition.
    Thanks to all the committed team members, teachers, tutors, ASASWO, dedicated Mr Principal, loyal supporters from SAS, Mr Lam from Sam Tet, parents and those who still cheering for us.
    You guys know how much hard work we have put into this song, doing the almost impossible task within a short period of time. Truly, pressure is a privilege.
    To ASWO members;
    When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
    When the road you're trudging seems all uphill,
    And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
    When care is pressing you down a bit-
    Rest if you must, but don't you quit,
    Success is failure turned inside out -
    The silver tint in the clouds of doubt,
    So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit -
    It's when things seem worst that you must not quit.
    ~The harmony lies in your heart.
