You are most thoughtful - thank you!
I'm not a Seinfeld fan and why no The Jeffersons on the list ugh
It should have picked the top 30 sitcoms based on neilson ratings
Anyone realized that the top 20 spots are the same as the other video? They added extra 10 to make it top 30 and didn’t bother to change it
No Brooklyn 99 nor Malcolm in the middle? Those two shows were huge in Latin America.
Brooklyn 99 is a national treasure
@@agatahb The show not being on the list is criminal
In Mexico we watch Malcolm in the middle as a family tradition.
Malcolm in the middle is one of the best shows to exist hands down. I LOVE that show
@@just_be_arock literally no one cares about Latin America lol
Honorable Mentions: Everybody Loves Raymond, The Nanny, Family Matters, Laverne and Shirley, Welcome back Kotter, and Living single. And we’re just going to ignore The Cosby Show, right? It never existed as one of the most funny, popular and beloved sitcoms of all time? Gotcha.
They forgot The Jeffersons
The fact these aren't on here and Seinfeld is number 1, tells you everything you need to know about who made this list
The Nanny and Sanford and Son for me. Let's not forget the Munsters.
@@tay7875Are you Muslim or a white supremacist? Either way, you are an adorable Jew Hater🤣
@@Jamessmith-xk3fh Jeffersons were number 19
Snubbing That 70’s Show is criminal.
Just like masterson
It should've been number 1.
My top 3:
1. Seinfeld
2. The Office
3. It's always sunny in Philadelphia
The Is Bull
No Living Single, when it’s known and proven that friends was carbon copy, even the original name for living single was Friends
No Martin? No Cosby? No good times? Different world?
I agree with all of this!
Friends is a rip off from a British comedy "Coupling" which is way funnier by the way!
@@lorenialemas6614it is not actually. The creator directly said that it was pretty much an exact, be it loss of color, rip off of “Living Single”. It is well known and fact checked.
@@gabdiesel05Really don't care about or have liked either@gabdiesel05 Thank you tho for the straitening out of the conundrum
@@lorenialemas6614 It's the other way around. Coupling (premiered in 2000) is a rip-off of Friends (premiered in 1994), looking to capitalize on the success of the latter. Coupling was later adapted it into a sitcom with an American cast using the same scripts as the British series, but for whatever reason, it was a failure. And Friends is funnier and should have been third or higher.
Two and a Half Men? It's definitely one of the best at its peak before Charlie Sheen left.
Not surprised it’s not on here but one of my personal favorites is the Dick Van Dyke Show.
It's idiotic to leave it off this list. It's usually ranked in the top 10...
I couldn't agree more! That show had some ground-breaking episodes, rule-breaking tropes, and was definitely ahead of it's time. Aired in the 60s, The one where Rob & Laura bring newborn Ritchie from the hospital, while controversial, received the biggest laughs in history to date. How dare they leave it off the list.
@@conscientiousobserver8772people who never watched the show have no idea what you are talking about - lol. Even though Rob’s family and his neighbors were part of the comedy, it was truly the first ‘workplace comedy’ as well. Way ahead of its time. Sally was a comedy writer on the show, not a secretary on the staff of ‘The Alan Brady Show’.
@@batgurrl Yeah, I left the "big reveal" out of the comment. Never heard of the TV movie, The Alan Brady Show (2003) till just now.
I very much agree. The Watch Mojo staff needs to watch it.
Really, we're gonna act like The Cosby Show doesn't belong on here?
Welll.......🙁
The Bill Cosby effect. The same way OJ Simpson is left off of great NFL players lists.
Very True, never missed an episode
Even if you ignore the rapes that show tanked in the back half of its episodes.
Yeah the list not legit with out the cosby show
Golden Girls at only 29? Is this a joke? This is def at least top 10. That’s a no no
I agree. I think it's better than Seinfeld and Friends
As Didier Drogba would say: It's a disgrace! It's a f***ing disgrace!
I laughed so hard when scrubs came right after lol
MASH was not a sitcom. It was not a drama. It was a law unto itself. No show in the history of television has so perfectly weaved comedy and drama into something so unique and powerful. No matter how you categorize it, any lower than #1 is an insult.
Absolutely ground breaking. The FIRST "dramedy."
No my wife and kids , No Malcolm in the Middle , No everybody hates Chris well I expected them to be honorables mentions
All 3 shows were great!
Seinfeld is literally my favorite sitcom ever and I always had a strong feeling for all in the family too😩
How is Cheers not number 1 since it had a top five most watched series finale
These shows should be ranked by neilson ratings
Not that there's anything wrong with that. I love Seinfeld too.
@@Jamessmith-xk3fhbecause Seinfeld was over the top crazy hysterical. And the other than the MASH finale, Seinfeld I believe is the second most watched sitcom finale of all time.
Spoiler alert they all end up in jail for crimes to humanity. Do you know that Jerry Seinfeld was offered ridiculous amounts of money to just do one more season. And he said no it was perfect we said all we had to say there ain't no more. Well he didn't say there ain't no more.
And it takes a lot of integrity to leave it in a perfect time capsule. And because every sitcom wants to come back and wrap it up. Case in point the Friends reunion thing. I'm sorry I'm not a friend's fan. And it spoiled everything.
“Three decades in the game, and my fans still adore me! You tried alien skulls and chose poorly!
Your whole story got blown up on sitcom, there's a Big Bang you can't hide in a fridge from!” Lara Croft
I get that you guys think his name is plutonium now, but it's intellectually dishonest to pretend that "The Cosby Show" didn't exist. It was a groundbreaking show and changed the dynamics of television in it's time. It was important and helped shaped an entire generation.
It does do a disservice to the other (completely innocent) actors on the show who did fine work.
IASIP at 22 is a joke, it's only the longest running sitcom ever.
And not just longevity, but consistently so dam good!
That series never hand an bad season. Made me belly laugh consistently, only other show that made me do that was Seinfeld. It's in my top 5 for sure
No Brooklyn 99 is simply outrageous
Great list and can not wait to see part two as there are so many more great sitcoms that weren't added here, to name a few The Cosby Show( despite the controversy about Bill Cosby himself, to not mention the greatness of that show would be wrong), A Different World, Mork and Mindy, LaVerne and Shirley, The Dick Van Dyke Show, My Three Sons, Welcome Back Kotter, Good Times, Maude; just to name a few.
Two & a half men - Before Charlie Sheen's Meltdown and before Ashton Kutcher killed the show this was one of the funniest sitcoms at the time. 👨🏿💻
My grandmother even watched it, pre-Ashton Kutcher. And lots of TV shows went over her head
Something I noticed when it comes to sitcoms. There are only 3 types -Family,Friends or Work Location
Scrubs and The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air ? Okay, your list is legit.
Still gotta watch Frasier and Seinfeld too.
Everybody Loves Raymond isn’t on here? One of my favs
Sanford and Son!!!
Gotta let some black people in these rooms when yall make these lists smh
absolutely!!!!
@@petegriffin555 if that means Sanford & Son makes the list I’m all for it
Great list with many of my favorites, but in a much different order and I’d change out a few. But overall good choices, thanks!!
Taxi was brilliant, and Louie was one of the best sitcom characters ever
TV guide once named him the best.
Parks and Recreation is my #1.
#1 Seinfeld
Idc,Married with Children will always be no.1
How are you going to leave out The Cosby Show? That show was #1 for five straight seasons and was a ratings hit. It portrayed African Americans in a positive light as an upper middle class family. But anyway, here are a few others worth mentioning:
1. Good Times
2. Family Matters
3. The Bob Newhart Show
4. The Beverly Hillbillies
5. Petticoat Junction
6. Laverne & Shirley
7. Gomer Pyle, U.S.M.C.
8. Martin
that 70s show deserved to be on this list
It should've been number 1.
I also would have included “Full House” and “Brooklyn Nine-Nine”.
I've watched their countdown videos about tv shows, and they never mention Martin or Living Single 🤦🏾♀️
And no "Everybody Hates Chris"
@diplamatikjuan3595 Exactly
I can't remember which, but there was one where they did mention Martin. I know that for a fact, I just can't remember what the video was.
Mine is Mash second is Cheers, third is Andy Griffith fourth is I Love Lucy honorable mention Growing Pains, The Facts Of Life, Three's Company Too Close For Comfort Coach Home Improvement, Roseanne (80's) Get Smart (60's) Dick Van Dyke Perfect Strangers. Etc.
Married With Children is myfavourite of all time. Would not be made today.
And a big Thank You to Terry Rakolta for having a big hissy fit and making the show even bigger. Take THAT Terry!!!!!
Home Improvement is one of the greatest sitcoms of all time for me
Curb and Seinfeld is where it is at.
Seinfeld is not better than all in the family, I love Lucy and friends and golden girls. It’s an acquired taste. Not everyone finds it funny, as opposed to to the others that I mentioned.
I think Seinfeld is funny but All in the Family on groundbreaking alone should be higher than Seinfeld. All in the Family was super funny but also tackled tough issues. Lucy was one of the first great sitcoms and should be higher than Seinfeld. Seinfeld is top 10 maybe top 5 but not #1. No way.
Yea it is, case in point, I can go back and watch All in the Family reruns for a while, and I was old enough to see them in first run. But I only do that once in awhile, and I enjoy it but then I don't go back to it for a while.
However I'm telling you every single night at my house is a Seinfeld night. For two straight hours one night, and I still laugh every time
I don't care how many times Kramer comes through the door in a ridiculous way. I don't care how many times Jerry finds fault with his current girlfriend.
I don't care how many times George goes on about his insecurities and his parents. And I don't care how many times Elaine pushes Jerry or one of the guys against the wall. I laugh every time and that's saying a lot.
Living Single over Friends any day. That 70's show but when they tried to replace Eric it wasn't the same. How can you not have Brooklyn 99 on here so many qouteable moments yall even have a video dedicated to it. I know we don't want to talk about The Cosby show but that show easily was top 10 at best shame that he turned out to be a monster cause if that didn't happen that show would be here.
The fact that Mama's Family isn't even mentioned is criminal. That being said, Frasier, M.A.S.H., and I love Lucy are legends.
Modern Family is easily top 5. Parks & Rec and Married with Children are also criminally low
So happy to see Seinfeld at number one. 🙂
It really is the best
My top 3 is……
3. All in the Family
2. Seinfeld
1. I Love Lucy
I think the reason that I love Lucy does not take the number one spot is because it came out in the 50s and isn’t as recent as Seinfeld
Modern audiences like jokes that you have to think about at least a little. I could tell you the punch lines to almost every joke on I Love Lucy BEFORE anyone says them
@ people can do the same thing with Seinfeld
@ don’t get me wrong. I love Seinfeld. I am part of a group that quotes it day in and day out on Facebook, but in my opinion, if it weren’t for I Love Lucy, there would be no modern sitcom as we know it.
Agree with #1, for sure. Just thinking about some of the scenes still make me laugh, even though the show had ended before I was born.
@@roberthanson6156 You're kidding, right?!? Seinfeld rarely even uses a structure where you COULD guess any punch lines. Most of the humor is in parentheses. Sorry, wrong answer.
Always sunny should be top 10
IASIP, parks and rec, 30 rock and Community are better than Schitts Creek
Saved by the bell
The Cosby show
Family ties
should be there somewhere.
But you got one thing right, Seinfeld is numero uno!
Definitely agree about Family ties, though how Lucy isn't number one is beyond me. The show's never been off the air, obviously still popular.
@@conscientiousobserver8772
I love Lucy!! That show is still on the air and very funny. I grew up watching it on re-runs. One of TV's best. But Seinfeld was a phenomenon.
@@hunt08234 Definitely, for those born at the right time. The Phenom hit a certain demographic that was relatable and often hilarious. For me, Lucy will always be the GOAT.
Everybody Loves Raymond, F.R.I.E.N.D.S, Roseanne & Seinfeld
Where was The Nanny? I loved that show!!! 😄
Honestly this is a hard list to make there are SO many great sit coms! I love the list. I definitely want to watch all in the family now! And some of those 2000's classics I've missed like Community and Arrested. Parks and Rec will always be my #1 Comfort show ❤
I Love Lucy wasn’t number one!?!? WTF?!? Her sitcom set up so much for future ones.
@@KatInJapan-q2e It's just WAAAAAAY too old. I'm almost 50 and I don't like it. Modern audiences want sitcoms to have more sophisticated humor. I can guess the punch line to almost every joke on I Love Lucy before I hear it.
@@HeelSection3825 this has nothing to do with what they just said. this list has nothing to do with humor, they literally aid at the start that this is based on cultural significance
@@manfacetweek Then Seinfeld should be number one. Which, it is.
@@HeelSection3825 not at all. there were more than enough great sitcoms before Seinfeld, they didn't do shit for sitcom culture
@@manfacetweek Um, yes it did. Before Seinfeld, sitcoms had VERY obvious humor. Seinfeld changed everything! Sorry, if you don't understand anything beyond "take my wife, please" but most people consider that kind of stuff VERY dated.
No New Girl?! Criminal!
Never heard of it.
I agree
I know why you didn’t include The Cosby Show, but that doesn’t take away from its importance.
Seinfeld ♥
Yes it never gets old ever.❤❤❤
Scrubs is probably my favorite sitcom of all time. I met Sarah Chalke years ago while the show was still on the air. She was more than happy to listen to me GUSH for about 15 minutes. VERY cool lady!
Married with Children!
the title should have been "top 30 greatest AMERICAN sitcoms of all time".
Only two B&W shows...it's nowhere near "of all time" either.
Arrested Development - it was clever, smart, & funny. if not for certain circumstances I honestly think they'd still be making this show. 👨🏿💻
Well, Martin Crane might seem like the audience stand-in to *you*, but I identify more with Frasier and Niles. And I’m not ashamed of it!
Niles is my favourite character on the show.
@ , 100%!
HIMYM was not a "botched ending" people dont want to admit that life is not " happy go lucky and things work out" because we were traditionalized to the modern sitcom. It was real raw and sad. And thats life it doesn't always work out, it doesn't always seem ok, and definitely not what you thought. How i met your mother is not about how you met the mom but what it took to do along the way ......(editors note HIMYM is better than friends)
There were issues with how they wrapped that show up. Because of that I would have at least put it way down on this list. If at all.
It was definitely a botched ending, it seemed abrupt and poorly timed. Like they tried to squeeze it in at the very end. People aren't mad about the ending because there is always a good way to deliver an ending that people don't want, and that wasn't it
American sitcoms*
Blackadder, Only Fools and Horses, Father Ted, Still Game.. all should be in there, and arguably the first three should be in the top 10 of all time.
Now this is what I call rigged. The only placement I agree with is Seinfeld & The Office above Friends.
Thank God friends wasn't at 1. I'd be really angry if it was.
You said "culture significant" and left out The Cosby Show and The Honeymooners and its cartoon version The Flintstones which was the first adult tinged cartoon not just for kids...
Bewitched? Barney Miller? The Honeymooners?
My list (In somewhat of a particular order?
1. Mash
2. Family Guy
3. 3rd Rock from the Sun
4. Becker
5. The Drew Carey Show
6. Seinfeld
7. The Jeffersons
8. Frasier
9. Red Dwarf
10. Fresh Prince of Bel Air
Are they THAT Lazy to change it up the list of top 30?
The at the top 20 spots are literally the same as the top 20 video but with added extra 10 above it to make it top 30 HOW LAZY ARE THEY TO CHANGE THEIR MINDS???
Mind you that “Friends” is still on Number 7 like in the original top 20 video where no one agreed
Not sure how Sanford and Son and Dick van Dyke don't get on here, but a middling show propped up by a laugh track (Big Bang) does
You’re dead wrong. The Andy Griffith Show, number one.
You guys in the comments need to stop expecting the Cosby show to be honoured. Do you not know what r*pe is???
Seinfeld better be n1
Or what?? Just kidding 😅
Thanks for including Community, but the fact that Malcolm in the middle and Brooklyn 99 are missing is a travesty!
I can think of 20 shows that are funnier.
Cosby Show absolutely belongs on the list. It was the number one comedy show in the 80s
Agree.
We can separate the art from the artist
Seinfeld is the greatest of all time!
I have to like this video midway just because I got to see two scenes that gave me abdominal pain of laughing so much - the Bluth's doing the "chicken" dance, and Sweet Dee hitting the car with her head after stealing some shows.
But I also have to say those are wayyyyyy too low in the ranking, which is obviously very US classics centric
I love Three's Company. My favorite episode is the one with the big misunderstanding.
Oh, that one. 😜
It's Always Sunny at 22 is insane to me. Abbott Elementary is still going, but definitely deserves to be on this list imo. Also NO EVERYBODY LOVES RAYMOND?!
The fact that The Cosby Show isn’t even mentioned is beyond criminal
I think Mash should be number 1, I love Lucy number 2 and number 3 Happy Days
Friends is the best.
Barely laughed during season 6.
I physically jumped when Frasier’s pistol went off 😂 It legitimately shocked me but also cracked me up
I really thought I Love Lucy was gonna be number one and Seinfeld number two
I mean... the Honeymooners, The Odd couple... and no, hard disagree on Seinfeld.
Agree! That show was about as funny as a chapped ass!
@@lusalma5404 As someone who thinks that Seinfeld is in the exact right spot; it's just a different generation. I think Seinfeld is HILARIOUS. Sorry, but humor evolved. When I watch some ancient show like The Honeymooners; I know the punchline of every single joke before I hear it. People from Gen X and younger get nothing from humor that's that predictable. Sorry if you don't get it, but comedy has moved on. You actually have to THINK at least a little bit as to WHY something is funny now. The days of "take my wife, please" are LONG gone!
@@HeelSection3825 I AM Gen X; and Seinfeld never, ever worked for me.
@lusalma5404 Well, I don't know what to tell you. You're a rarity. Those really old shows are lame AF. WAAAAAAY too predictable humor.
#29. No one knew what the hell a lanai was until The Golden Girls aired.
Golden Girls, All In The Family, and I Love Lucy should be top 3. I'm tired of every sitcom list placing Seinfeld number 1 because it's really not that good

Whatever your thoughts about _The Big Bang Theory_ are, it has some great plot lines.
Whenever I need a laugh or to get out of a funk my go to show will always be The Mary Tyler Moore Show. She does turn the world on with her smile.
The Cosby Show (my all-time favorite show in spite of what we know about Bill Cosby now)
Family Matters
The Bernie Mac Show
Living Single
Martin
The Golden Girls (the four funniest women in tv history)
Everybody Loves Raymond (Probably my favorite ensemble cast of any television show, apart from The Cosby Show. I wouldn't change any of them for another actor. They were perfect.)
The Middle (the most underrated sitcom of the last 15 years in my opinion)
Everybody Hates Chris
Sanford and Son
The Andy Griffith Show
Boy Meets World
Moesha
Married with Children
The Office (US) (another one the greatest ensemble casts)
I appreciate not completely ignoring the classics, but there’s no way The Honeymooners isn’t on a true list of all-time greats.
The Big Bang Theory is my favourite sitcom ever along with The Golden Girls and Three’s Company
TBBT is bad. I'd say you should feel bad, but as you like TGG, that would be incorrect of me.
Honeymooners, Two and a Half Men, Dick Van Dyke show, and... wait for it... THE COSBY SHOW.
Home Improvement, Family Matters and Full House
Didn't even show up?! My 90s jams ❤️
Seriously? The Golden Girls is only number 29?
did you leave Malcolm in the Middle out or it's not considered as a sitcom?
It was legendary sitcoms that most people know no matter age.
I would definitely put All in the Family, MASH, Cheers and The Office in the top 5. I would think that All in the Family would be at the top because it had a huge cultural influence. It's a show that would never be produced nowadays. Happy to see 'Frasier' in the top 10. Man, I loved that show.
Golden girls needs to be ranked a lot higher. One of the best written shows
Mama’s family, Wings, 2 broke girls, Soap ,Alice,One day a time,Leave it to beaver should be on this list etc
I woud have also included Fawlty Towers on that list personally.
I first watched The Golden Girls as a kid. Didn’t get most of the jokes, but still enjoyed the comedy. 40 years later, I’m now a “Golden Girl” and I can understand the jokes. Also, I can now relate to many of the issues the women dealt with then because some things haven’t changed in 40 years.
