Truly wonderful MT. Brilliant variety of rail tours, light engine movements but most especially the LNER diverts via Carlisle. Fully enjoyed watching :-)
LNER didnt divert their trains. The drivers just got fed up with the long stretch after Newcastle and decided to turn left along the very interesting Tyne Gap line. And very pretty it is too. Well worth the extra minutes to have a view of The Wall of Hadrian, The picturesque stretches of the River Tyne, and the River North Tyne, the lovely viaduct over the Eden at Wetheral.
So with LNER diverting down Midcalder are they cutting straight across to Newcastle or down to Leeds when they leave Carlisle? They're obviously not heading up Shap from there.
I love trains!
I have no idea why a Azuma & a Avanti West Coast trains just looks cold to me (In a good way)
12:33 that is such a cool shot.
West meets east

As you can see from the title, LNER diverts. This means when there's engineering works LNER go through Carlisle
No, they just come over a weekend annually as they did many years ago with HSTs etc
It’s an annual weekend that they come back as they did years ago. That wasn’t the only LNER as I seen the 15:03 and there was also a 16:20!
