Also if you hold onto the loudspeaker thing it's the only things I've found so far that will kill a blue shell if timed right
Instead of just mashing the button to release the item hold the control stick back while not letting go of the item button kinda tedious when your wanting to drift and such but dedi worth it when competition is thick

You’re one of the only people that actually drift correctly, people over do it to get a bigger boost but because of the chance that you mostly go off road, unless you master extremely sharp turns, the way jack does it is the best way to practice drifting.
