5/11/2023. Just finished this game and came here to watch all the other endings and other stuff I had missed. I didn't really play any Silent Hill games growing up but now I wish that I had. You can tell they tried with this game! It’s definitely not perfect but it’s not bad at all, I’d say the the main things I didn’t like was the monsters and combat but the atmosphere was great and story was good with twists. Amazing easter eggs, I hope the developers see nice comments, ALSO PLEASE POST THE BEAUTIFUL SECRET EASTER AGG ENDING! It’s a must watch!
This game has some of the hardest enemies to go up against out of all the SH games. I got ticked off so many times! Especially at the bank! And the side quests were tricky and sprawled out. But I still enjoy it though.
Imagine this crazy thing - you are sitting in your room watching this with your headphones on at 2 AM. It's dark, it's quiet, and suddenly as the bus starts rolling at 12:00 the clatter from the bus gets in 3D, because of your upstairs neighbor who just dropped something heavy on the floor in the middle of the scene. LOoooL
Haha, nice one, I can imagine, since I can only play games at night and with headphones (after kiddo went to bed), just like this walkthrough, I had the same moments and dirty pants
Exactly the same . Started playing around 2020 Finished once leaving with the boat and not completing everything 😅 24th of october, 2024 Watching at 2:00am, working at 8:30 am. But hey, that's Silent Hill Downpour, with headphones, in the dark. And snacks !🌃👍👌🥶💨👀🙌🎬🎥🎞️🎚️🎧📀🛏️🕑⏰🕢❤️
I like the game to an extent. I feel it lacks so much that makes silent hill special. Usually the enemies are symbolic to the game and protagonist, but these are the most generic monsters in the series.
@@APECHANNEL Yeah, I agree. I feel it gets a bad rep because of the "Silent Hill" name attached to it. If it was the same game, by a different company, with a different name. I doubt it would be disliked as much.
In my own interpretation, Silent Hill: Downpour had endings with drastically different elements. Murphy is either a guilty killer or he is innocent. I think the enemies came off generic because they couldn’t go too hard one way or the other in order to keep the endings consistent. I hate to go back to Silent Hill 2 like everyone else, but because James was *Spoiler* guilty of mercy killing his own wife in all the endings, the enemies, supporting characters, and environments lend themselves to that specific ending, with only James’ reaction to the revelation being different. It’s not a bad thing, it’s more, Silent Hill 2 is more character driven in a storytelling direction, while Downpour treats the player character as a sandbox for the player.
I remember playing this game in 2012 when I was in college. I am a fan of the silent hill games, currently playing silent hill 3 at the moment. I remembered I enjoyed this game but the enemies were redundant and I feel silent hill 1 and origins stood out to me more in my memory. Maybe because they had a better story line.
For me it's SH2 as it was my first SH game and first impression, it's still my favorite and I'm afraid the Bloobers will trash as is usually the case with modern games.
A corpse of a prisoner found in the previous room holds a child's poem, which serves as a guide on what buttons to push. I playthrough this game many times so I already knew the code (and forget to record this part for you)
Pacioje pradzioje veze su antrankiais, kurie pernerti per dirza, o jau po to antrankiu aplamai nera :D Siaip Silent Hill gera serija ir nostalgiska. Zinoma vieniems Rezident Evil serija geresne, bet bent jau man Silent Hill idomesne... ;)
I enjoyed this game right until the first enemy popped up, combat in this game is such a frustrating mess; such a shame because I was really enjoying the mood and immersion, first non-Japanese Silent Hill game to pull it off in my opinion.
i'm currently getting all of silent hill games as i was too young back in the day to play any of them. Currently trying to get SH1, it's a pain in the butt to find it at a reasonable price 💀 As for downpour, i've played it and it's surprisingly fine, the atmosphere is definitively the best part of it
True, this is actually described in the comic book of the same name that I mentioned in the video here: Issue #1 - 00:18:09, Issue #2 - 01:43:25, Issue #3 - 04:20:30, Issue #4 - 09:11:59
@@APECHANNEL really even tho he didn't kill his own son if I remember right wasn't he told not to mess with the boat in the comic's or was it something else ?
I totally agree, I don't know why there are so many Downpour haters, as a big fan of SH2 (my first SH game), I can say that this game is on the same level. Actually, afaik, Konami and the Bloober Team are currently collaborating on a new game.
This is not from the "team silent"creators as the 4 original. But it was a good game. They copied a lot from team silent games, that's why it is good. But not as the originals.
@@KosmasMJpec Exactly, that's why the game feels like the first games, the only moment that is a little annoying is the battles with rather monotonous enemies.
If you want true sh game, make a petition to bring back kojima in the dev team lol...anyway, for someone who grow up playing sh since ps1, i dont think sh other than 1~4 is good, too boring to me, sorry to say, just the graphics is better but gameplay boring...
In all honesty this was a fun game playing think it needs a proper good remaster there’s so much interesting lore along with the side quests plus as influences go I see most of Stephen King, Jacobs Ladder and Silent Hill 2 in this game
For me, the only bad points are too monotonous enemies, I missed a fog, and a bit weak optimization, on the other hand, a lot of new interesting mechanics, for example, I really like how the developers implemented these "fast travels" in the subway, which you can start using after feeding a homeless (Side quest) - 8:12:48
This game gives me uncomfortable feelings but i also love it and it’s also creepy and makes me scared … i never finished it and I couldn’t even finish watching your video i am sorry but great work for sure I am struggling with panic attacks so horror games like this makes my condition worse
I playes silent hill long ago when I still teenager now im 37 years old still love to play this kind of scary games. Japanese really awesome to make this kind of game.
I think basically those who don't like it haven't played it but are trying to infer just from what they see, I actually have the same bad habit too, sometimes
@@APECHANNEL I'm on my way to getting all of them but book of memories looks pretty lame tbh lol. Don't wanna spend an extra $100+ just to say I own all of them haha.
I always loved Downpour for 2 big factors: What if, in a visit to Silent Hill, we're not the focus? We're not James, we're Angela. How would the town manifest? And also, how was life for those who lived there? What is Silent Hill to the residents? And how warped can it get?
@@APECHANNELwell we learn from the comics and also the later stages of the game that the main focus of this visit to Silent Hill was Anne Cunningham. She was the James Sunderland character's role from Silent Hill 2. Thats why at the end, WE become the final boss. Murphy surviving depends on HER. Murphy is the likes of Angela, or Maria from Silent Hill 2, yes Silent Hill shows Murphy a horrifying world but the real focus is Anne. I found that to be fascinating. It's why sometimes Murphy is just free to wander around the town, to explore. He wasnt needed for his 'role' in Anne's story yet, until the town needed him, at which point it guided or forced him bath into crossing paths with her again. And I found it to be a clever twist on the usual formula. I loved seeing the sidequest events in the town itself like the haunted painting, the film reel at the cinema, the mysterious subway, the horrible 'ribbons' event. It showed how over time, Silent Hill was corrupting people, building its horror, the way they showed how even the most average of things became twisted. I loved the extra depth it added to the town.
@thequietestengine Yes, same to me, side quests make game more various and keep your interest, I also like Easter eggs in this game, regarding Ann and Merphy I find their stories equally meaningful and complementary, and actually THANKS for a such a detailed comment 👍
I stopped playing Silent Hill after number 3 ..Western Developers (especially American ones) simply cannot do Horror games well ....it always ends up as shooting match. I tried Dead space = rubbish I tried Alan wake = gave up after a few (boring ) hours. .... Americans and Europeans can't do minimalism or subtlety. Give me Project Zero, Resident Evil (2002) and Silent Hill 2 any day!
Agree, Silent Hill 2 was a masterpiece of horror, story and music, it was my first SH game and I scared the hell out of me when playing it hundreds years ago :) but you know I love all SH games not because of horror but atmosphere, the same story with Dead Space and Alien, which I love a lot too, one more example Amnesia: The Dark Descent, it’s not scary at all but it’s so Lovecraftian

A worthy addition to the franchise in my opinion. After 4, this and Homecoming (which had it issues) are good games.
Yes, these are good games, I would also like to play PT, but unfortunately there is no possibility anymore
@@APECHANNEL There's a pretty good unreal remake of PT out there that you can play on pc. It's so good that if you didn't know it was a remake you wouldn't be able to tell.

Hmm, need to try, thanks!
@PandaMonium 9 sorry I’ve accidentally deleted your comment started with “The sheer fact….” :)
I’m glad this popped up on my fyp this game is fire asf
Glad you liked it, enjoy watching! :)
How have I never heard of this game before?!
It looks so fun!
Yep, it’s good one
@@APECHANNEL I’m curious, because I notice those weird, black light creature-girls sound JUST LIKE the Beauty Bosses from MGS4… also a Konami game, obviously.
Wonder if it’s the same sound clip?
Hmmm, interesting observation, I’ve never played MGS though
Our wish come true silent hill 2 remake comes out in 4 days can't wait I remember playing downpour about 10 years ago wasn't perfect but still a good game and deffo worth playing I really hope there go on to remake 3 homecoming and downpour with them doing 2 it gives us hope ❤
Oh, yeah, and looks like it gonna be good remake
@apechannel 100 percent
I've been itching to replay this, almost started it last weekend. I'm gonna have to do it before Horizon 2
Do it man!
Silent hill saga is my therapy ❤
Me as well
Downpour was my favorite
🙌
You can tell they tried with this game! It’s definitely not perfect but it’s not bad at all, I’d say the the main things I didn’t like was the monsters and combat but the atmosphere was great and story was good with twists. Amazing easter eggs, I hope the developers see nice comments, ALSO PLEASE POST THE BEAUTIFUL SECRET EASTER AGG ENDING! It’s a must watch!
Agree
We need more of this
I'm on my way mate
This was the first game I ever finished! I remember my sister and I freaking out anytime we were in the mines-
I had SH2, the original game, and it was really scary at the time, but it was love from the first cutscene :)
@ oh absolutely! I’ve only ever watched people play the other games but they have a very ‘special place’ in my heart
This game has some of the hardest enemies to go up against out of all the SH games. I got ticked off so many times! Especially at the bank! And the side quests were tricky and sprawled out. But I still enjoy it though.
That’s true :)
I find it interesting that the room 302 has three doors. As if this was the room locked up and shown before the back wall was sealed in.
Interesting 🧐
Watching now. Thanks for sharing.
You're welcome, enjoy watching!
@@APECHANNEL 🙂🙂🙂🙂
Exactly the same .
Started playing around 2020

But hey, that's Silent Hill Downpour, with headphones, in the dark.
And snacks !🌃👍👌🥶💨👀🙌🎬🎥🎞️🎚️🎧📀🛏️🕑⏰🕢❤️
Never knew there was more than one ending .... amazing !!
Yeah, my favorite is the one that after the death of the Boogeyman, I found it by accident :)
I think all SH games have multiple endings
Nunca pude sacar este final porque ay que hacer muchas cosas secundarias pero lo voy a hacer eh sacado ya 3 finales de los 6 @@chrisg1772
I haven't been scared of a horror game in a while and this made me jump
Yeah it’s scary one
I loved this game and the open world of the town. Only bad thing imo is the monster design and maybe back then the bad performance.
Oh yeah, town is my favorite location, especially idea with fast travel in the subway
For sure , sick dry ambiance underground 😉✅
One of my favorite SH.
Yeah, my either
I like the game to an extent. I feel it lacks so much that makes silent hill special. Usually the enemies are symbolic to the game and protagonist, but these are the most generic monsters in the series.
That's true, but I must admit that there are more advantages than disadvantages
@@APECHANNEL Yeah, I agree. I feel it gets a bad rep because of the "Silent Hill" name attached to it. If it was the same game, by a different company, with a different name. I doubt it would be disliked as much.
Yes, make sense
@@OscarSotoJr that's fair man, well said.
In my opinion the art style is perfect for silent hill, hope we get another game in this art style
Totally agree, but I side of those who prefer fog to rain, but in any case, this style of abandonment is great
I can’t believe I’m only seeing this now wish I have played it
Yeah, you need it :)
What difficulty is this? The enemies took a huge amount of blows to get down
Difficulty normal - 00:00:36
1:40:00 How do u know it was ABDC?
A corpse of a prisoner found in the previous room holds a child's poem, which serves as a guide on what buttons to push.
I playthrough this game many times so I already knew the code (and forget to record this part for you)
@@APECHANNEL But how? When i read it, it's just a normal poem 😅
Why is not it in steam .
That’s true
Pacioje pradzioje veze su antrankiais, kurie pernerti per dirza, o jau po to antrankiu aplamai nera :D Siaip Silent Hill gera serija ir nostalgiska. Zinoma vieniems Rezident Evil serija geresne, bet bent jau man Silent Hill idomesne... ;)
Matau, įdomus pastebėjimas, erelio akis :)
I enjoyed this game right until the first enemy popped up, combat in this game is such a frustrating mess; such a shame because I was really enjoying the mood and immersion, first non-Japanese Silent Hill game to pull it off in my opinion.
In my case, the desire to complete the game won over the reluctance to fight bad monsters, but I completely understand you
Just at beginning of this vid an what a great start to a game …
I really liked Downpour, had a great boss ending
Side with you
i'm currently getting all of silent hill games as i was too young back in the day to play any of them. Currently trying to get SH1, it's a pain in the butt to find it at a reasonable price 💀 As for downpour, i've played it and it's surprisingly fine, the atmosphere is definitively the best part of it
Great choice
Soo it wasn't Morphy's fault for her father's death but it was Sewell's fault and ofc she knew that it was him tho
Hmm, don't remember about his son, could you remind me of this storyline?
grazie bravissimo
Sono felice di saperlo, grazie!
I wish they would make another silent hill game
We hope your wish will come true :)
Same
BEST SILENT HILL EVER!
Thaaat’s true!
Wish they would remaster all silenthill games
Or create a new one :) The previous remasters imho aren't that good yet, I mean the Silent Hill HD Collection
It was one of the first Silent Hill I played. I hope to play it again one day 😔
You can still buy PS3 ;)
I remember this game when it released.
We gave it all time.
But here where new generations messing with history.
I didn't get a chance to play it that day, I mean release, but I wanted to play it all the time and I'm glad I finished it
@@APECHANNEL U brought memories back boy .
Holy shit. Didn’t know Room 302 was in this. Cool
Yeah, nice reference, I also like it
Even for nowadays it seems fuckin'awesome Epic horror gem...Konami bring us another one👍😎
Silent Hills, one more game that I unfortunately haven’t managed to play
Silent Hill is the epitome of psychological horror !!!
Agree
In all honesty this was a fun game playing think it needs a proper good remaster there’s so much interesting lore along with the side quests plus as influences go I see most of Stephen King, Jacobs Ladder and Silent Hill 2 in this game
That’s true
The old theatre part is my favourite
Yeah, same to me
Loved the Game even it had its bad Moments and Problems.
This game gives me uncomfortable feelings but i also love it and it’s also creepy and makes me scared … i never finished it and I couldn’t even finish watching your video i am sorry but great work for sure
I am struggling with panic attacks so horror games like this makes my condition worse
Really sorry about your attacks, it’s sad, and thanks

I playes silent hill long ago when I still teenager now im 37 years old still love to play this kind of scary games. Japanese really awesome to make this kind of game.
Yes, these games have only gotten better over the years
Yah know this game is not bad. I dunno why it got so much hate from the SH fans
I think basically those who don't like it haven't played it but are trying to infer just from what they see, I actually have the same bad habit too, sometimes
@@APECHANNEL what's coming up in your schedule as far as playthroughs? Any games in mind

As a fan of the franchise, I've played almost all of them :) (Book of Memories - no chance for me), not all of them are perfect, but still immersive.
@@APECHANNEL I'm on my way to getting all of them but book of memories looks pretty lame tbh lol. Don't wanna spend an extra $100+ just to say I own all of them haha.
That's for sure! :)
1:34 ost song name ?
Try Shazam :)
1:36:38 I’m crying I really felt the frustration from the MC cuz those monsters are a b!tch to kill 😂 I was like NOT AGAIN… lol
Oh, I hated them every time they crossed my way
I always loved Downpour for 2 big factors: What if, in a visit to Silent Hill, we're not the focus? We're not James, we're Angela. How would the town manifest?
And also, how was life for those who lived there? What is Silent Hill to the residents? And how warped can it get?
Interesting conclusion, continue
Totally agree! The touch of Silent Hill is missing from this game, it is like a new title that has nothing to do with SH.
@@APECHANNEL Have you not played the first Project Zero? (Fatal Frame) it is without doubt comparable to Silent Hill 2.
@@coolmacatrain9434 I know about this game and that it is said to be very similar to SH, but no, I haven't played it yet
@@coolmacatrain9434 best horror game for me, good story, good puzzle, good gameplay, same as older sh and re title, the only western title i like so far is alone in the dark.
