    3:15 "5.5k is peak power, so 5.5k is what I'd shift".
    Just a word of advice to the owner, the reason why MIsha wanted to shift PAST the peak power is so that once you get into the next gear, you'll land just ON or just before the peak power. If you shift at 5.5k, your next gear will land you significantly under the peak power, which on an engine that needs revs to get going, is something you don't want.

      I’m here for this comment, anyway peak power isn’t what you want anyway. You want to shift at the optimal point to where the revs are at peak torque for the next gear. If this guy is competing in this next year good luck to him shifting like he’s going to the shops lol

    • @keatoncreates
      @keatoncreates 5 днів тому +4

      yeah most people fail to realise, gears are torque multipliers, my audi a4 1.8t feels like it falls off powerband at 5k, but actually its just the brain playing tricks with the feeling of boost tapering off, still faster revving it past that. Dynos only measure peak engine toqrue not the torque for all gears, hence why diff gears do nothing on a dyno but move the powerband sliggghhhtly.
      Handy tip: If you log Acelleration in G's over time and RPM you can work out exactly the best shift points not based just off feeling or dyno sheets.

    • @johnnygeorgopoulos4072
      @johnnygeorgopoulos4072 6 днів тому +12

      Lol.... yeah, you should try to keep the engine within it's most efficient power band, so if you know where your peak HP is, is one thing, you also need to know how fast it rolls off after that, and more importantly, where peak torque is, and try to keep it to where when you shift, your next gear falls right in between peak torque and peak HP.....but just because a car has "peak HP" at say, 5600rpm, doesn't mean that's where you should shift.... especially if it flattens out.... you've got a lot of room to play with if that's the case (I'm sure I'm explaining it worse than I'm thinking I am lol)

      @aaronalp2639 6 днів тому +3

      @ Oh good question! 😃 They’re really very different I feel in terms of how they give their power. Both are brilliant chassis and incredibly nimble and capable. It’s totally personal preference. For me personally, I enjoy the N/A more as you need to work it a bit harder to get the most from it. Mine is very much a weekend/night time run out for enjoyment car nowadays as the years have evolved
      I had the choice of both as there was one of each shape in the dealer when I bought mine and I chose the N/A but if I had the space, I’d happily have a 33 too along side it! Both are fantastic and if you prefer more of that punch, the 33s is the one to go for. If like me you prefer a more, dare I say, drive that harks back to late 90’s into the 2000’s hot hatches like saxo’s, lupo gti’s and civics etc, then the 31 or 32s is the one for you! I agree, the 33s gives a nice punch 👊🏾 coz of the turbo but the N/A is much better enjoyed coz it's very demanding, doesn't need you napping when it whispers in your ear to give it a workout 😅. I've been considering looking at the 33s in M/T but I just can't seem to get my eyes off the 32s, I'd rather make it my tuner car and get something like a FK2 Type R just for the love Japanese cars 😊.

      @billywalker681 5 днів тому +1

      @@vvevvevvvv Exactly my point, you have to clean it from time to time to keep it without failure, which is whole another service work. And its really not that easy to clean hardened soot, if you want to do it on your own. And wallnut blasting is not that cheap either.
      On top of that, as you said, most modern engines are DI...turbo DI, which really requires good servicing, and good behaviour from the owner - avoiding frequent short trips, warm up/cool down turbo, etc.
      Which takes me back to my original post - are these bad engines? No. Are they super reliable all the time? Not always.

    You should forbid people to use the phone in the car. Better content, and it won't get stuck under the breaks when your passenger eventually drops it in a bad spot.

    People always gets mad when the owner records it, just like people going on concerts and records the show while there's ton of cameras there, why?, because it's for personal memory. You always tend to forget what happened after the event cuz of highly state of emotional occurred during the event. So for the people that got mad, just get over it.
