I use the MOFO IRs frequently on my QC and with plugins. Probably my favorite V30 IRs. These are extremely well done. Mixing them with Kholer’s DV77 IRs is damn near perfection.
Can you do a head to head of a few different IR Companies? Like maybe OH, York, and ML or something?> I know you have good demo's of all of them but would be cool to see a head to head of some back to back (similar) cab/mic IR's from the different companies, that way we can hear the changes/comparisons in a quicker more streamlined way. Just a thought anyways!
The fluff 2c is such an awesome ampsim. I wasn't a fan of the mark series until I tried this one. It completely changed my mind. ML are doing a really good job with everything they release.
Great videos you create. Would be nice if you could get some FRFR cabinets and make a video about sound quality and using IR’s with them. At least a Powercab. Thanks
These sound great! I've never had the opportunity to be in the room with an actual ENGL cab, but most of the IR's I've used sound really good and are useful in the mix. ML Audio does great work - I bought their 70s Giants pack and LOVE it as well. FWIW, I'm currently beta testing the new IR software from Two Notes called Genome that will replace their WoS software. Their DynIRs are proprietary which might not work for some people, but they also have a few ENGL cab packs loaded with some unusual speakers that sound really, really good. Would be interested to hear what Jon give em a spin.
And I just got the ANGR pack along with the ZILA pack, I'm loving that ANGR one for heavy chuggs and the ZILA just cuts trough anything. not enough reviews of the Either of these two on youtube, so I went in almost blind.
Hey John what a great Video! Have you ever tried the esp ltd jr 608? For the fact that you also like dynamic pickups the old one with the dimarzios could be worth checking out :) Have a great weekend !
Hey Jon, your mixes always sound great, so I have a question: I am struggling with mastering. My studio monitors do not translate bass frequencies very well, so whenever I finish a new version of my master and check it on my stereo or in the car, the bass is either too boomy or too thin. Can you recommend a good VST plugin or best practice to nail the bass without the need for 27 iterations? Thanks for your great videos BTW. Greetings from Germany
You should try checking the low end with headphones. Another good way is to reference your mix to others that you like or use some sort of analyzer like Metric AB or Paz frequency analyzer to see what´s going on. 🤟
Man, that ENGL + ANGR combo was incredible. I wonder why ENGL amp sims are so rare.
ML is always so consistent, I have almost every one of their products
Yeah! I was really curious about your opinion about ML IR's for long.
Thanks :)

Would love to hear your opinion on the new cabs in Helix 3.5.

What's your chain for Engl fireball and IR? Do you use a captor or similar or straight on pc and an IR loader plugin?
