  • I am an Indian International Medical graduate (IMG) , working in the UK. I graduated from Nepal, passed FMGE , got registered with Delhi Medical Council and subsequently appeared for IELTS and PLABs to get registered with General Medical Council, UK. I have recently secured residency in Radiology and I am going to start in August 2021. I will be making a series of videos to guide my fellow colleagues and juniors who are aiming to work in UK.
    This video covers everything you need to know about Clinical Attachment. Please watch my previous video regarding portfolio to understand the significance of this.

      Hi, it depends on which city you want to stay in, you can google NHS hospitals in the city where you want to do this.

    What are the eligibility criteria for such an experience? If I’ve completed IELTS and the PLAB steps, it’s enough?

    • @skalani2812
      @skalani2812  2 роки тому +1

      There is no eligibility as such, anyone can do it.

    Which is the cost effective city where I can stay for a longer duration in lesser cost and do attachments too.
    Do hospitals provide accommodation while doing clinical attachment?

    • @skalani2812

      Any city apart from London would be alright. Hospitals usually don’t provide accomodation for attachments as they have limited spaces already and there is waiting for their own doctors.

      And by work you mean ? It is ok to do basic stuff under supervision as this is the best way to learn. You can say no to anything beyond that. I did not do an attachment before joining NHS and so I got a one month shadowing period. But I was not expected to do any procedures like bloods, ABGs etc. Make sure that you are supervised for whatever you do. Good luck !

      @@skalani2812 thanks, I am reviewing patients, taking ward orders by reg/consultant and following the jobs like requesting scan, investigations on ice and speaking to micro,or radio docs.I do bloods when phlebotomists are not around.Speaking to MDT around.Speaking to the relatives and Nok etc etc
      My work is covered by the trust’s indemnity and it is written in my contract.
      My consultant is happy to offer me a trust grade job in the same department.
      I have 6 years of clinical gap with only 1 year internship experience.
