BEST way to find CREEKS for CRAPPIE Fall/Winter 2022/2023‼️

  • How to find best creeks for Fall and Winter Crappie Fishing. Checking for Lake connectivity, Water Color and debris from heavy rain runoff are some of the ways to know if the creeks will fish well. How to rig a crappie setup is determined by creek depth, structure, and fish behavior. Bring all your setups and decide on the fly. Minnow fishing is probably a good scouting tool as well. Both Black Crappie and White Crappie go into the Creeks during the cold weather months. Slip cork, Jig & Bobber, and casting all work in this environment. I also like to vertical jig from a Kayak as well.

    I just subscribed to your channel. This is the first video that made sense to me. I’m a catfishing gal and really, that’s all I know. The last few years I’ve been trying to figure out crappie but I just can’t figure it out. The few I’ve caught have been accidents. I’m looking forward to watching more of your videos and learning and just have fun watching.

    Another day I find myself enjoying fishing vicariously through your excellent video. Your teaching is probably the best there is out there on crappie fishing that I have seen, with knowledge and skills applied for the best catch for the viewer. I know that is a lot of actual work to video and drone and provide something that so many other channels are just plain missing. I think you might consider investing in your own trademarks on jackets, hats and all your visible equipment to expand & promote your channel and maybe get some sponsors as well.
    In my opinion you certainly are deserving of making some $$ from your excellent tutorials efforts as well as your guide service. Keep up the great work.

      Yes sir. I work hard and save. I buy the things that help me be mor successful. I’ve been Crappie fishing since I was a child and I’m 51 now. I, like a lot of other folks never had or needed a boat or technology to catch Crappie. I’ve been on a kayak for 12 years and only had electronics for less than 2. I’ve had my guide license since 2015, 4 years before Livescope. So it can be done without the tech, but I earned it, I wanted it, and I use it to have fun, be more successful, and put my clients on fish. Nothing wrong with staying up with the times. 😊

      Yes, on the advice, don’t change any of the settings. Garmin knows better than you what you need. only change the depth to auto and change the gain based on the water clarity from mid 60s to low 70s. And change your forward range as you need it. Never fish with it sit past 20 feet out.

      Start close to the mouth and go back up the creek until it gets too shallow for the fish to pass.

    • @BarFlyFishingTexas
      @BarFlyFishingTexas  Рік тому

      I try as many as I can. It’s hard to get to every creek you see on a satellite map. I drive all the way out and figure out there is no access or it’s dried up. I succeed a lot but I fail a lot. I don’t have people feeding me intel, so I have to go check everything I can find on the maps. It can get tough. Fells good when you hit on a good one after finding a few bad ones!
