Thank you so much for this video!! I am in Michigan and it is hard to find video's like this from ppl who are actually in my state. I am putting the last few touches on my basement and I'm hoping to get everything completed soon so that I can start my inspection process. I am super nervous and worried that I wont have all of my ducks in a row when the time comes. I wish I had someone's help to walk me through this process so video's like this are great!! Thank you again!
You are very welcome, the licensing consultants I’ve worked with are VERY helpful. If there is anything you’ve overlooked they will be happy to advise and correct the issue. I’ve always had positive experiences with licensing - they’re there to help you. I’d love to see your space! Do you have a FB page for your business?
@@sunnypatchpreschool Sorry for the late response, I really need to check my notifications more often!! I have not created a facebook page for the business yet but I do plan on doing one soon. every now and then ill upload photos on my regular facebook page on my updates of the space. Id love to share them with you and get any new ideas or critiques that you may have!
@@cheridamurry8313 absolutely! Photos can really sell your program, it builds trust and shows parents all of the great things you do with your little ones. My facebook page is geraldine ralph studios - I'll try to look you up but if I cant find you send me a message I'd be happy to help!
You have to look at the licensing rules for your area. I’ve seen people use their garage, in Michigan we can’t do that unless it’s attached. My program is in the basement and I had to have an egress window put in. In my previous home I used a living room for the daycare an d my family room for my family. Also look into the zoning for your area as well. Hope this helps :)
Hi Yvonne if you go on the DHS website for home daycare licensing and apply for a license they will give you the checklist and licensing book. The licensing book goes over all the rules for home daycare providers, you can check that out ahead of time. Are you planning on opening a family home daycare (up to 6 children) or a group home daycare (up to 12 children)?
@@yvonnepeace168 Thats awesome we need more quality care! Is there any content that you would find helpful in your journey? I’m happy to answer questions or share videos about how I run my business.
Yes, I always plan my vacations and dr appointments several weeks in advance. If I have anything pop up at the last minute I just explain the situation and families are understanding as it rarely happens that I can’t give notice.
❤❤awesome video .. very informative.. thank you for sharing🙌🙌🙌

@@sunnypatchpreschool Oh my goodness Thank u so much ☺️ I’ll go add u now and as soon as I upload the pictures I’ll let you know.
Curious what the training you mentioned was. I could not figure out what you said.
Thank you for the Video
You bet!
I’m curious what the child in care form or paper was from the state. Can you tell me what that is?
That’s a lot of paperwork! Most very common sense things.
Hi dear I just want to know can we turn any room room in our house as a daycare or only living room?

How do you get a license consultant? Where do you get the license check list from? I live in Michigan and want to start a home childcare.

if you need to take a day off do you give your families notice?
