I really like this best of series, happy new year man! Discovered your channel this year, been trying to turn as many food junkies like myself onto it.
“Supersize Me” was the end of great McDonald’s. They got sensitive to their health perception and stopped frying to the best taste. I feel like now they try to play both sides and never seem to pull off either. 90’s McDonald’s was the best days. Even their logo had swagger. I miss those days going there after school.
@chrimes If that's the case why does McDonald's feel cheaper and more unhealthy than it did a few years back? Maybe it's because I'm older and can notice it better now but when I eat Wendy's it feels like real food and it feels way less unhealthy to eat. Less greasy, less cheap, more real(especially their chicken, beef, and baked potatoes). Then when I eat McDonald's it feels like I just ate the most unhealthy thing on the planet, no other restaurant I've had period feels as unhealthy as McDonald's.
What’s annoying about the “supersize me” guy Morgan Spurlock was that he was a massive alcoholic and that’s why the Dr compared his health decline to someone who has severe binge alcoholism. Not saying it was healthy to do for 30 days but I’m sure being a massive alcoholic for years was worse than 30 days of McDonald’s. Especially back then when imo it was far less processed

Being a “boomer” I remember going to McDonald’s in the late 60’s and getting the regular hamburger and small fries. Oh they were great and that’s my nostalgic meal. I love those burgers and fries to this day. I love the Big Mac, it’s perfect. I don’t think it needs more meat . The filet ‘0 fish in the 70’s came in a styrofoam container and the bun was actually steamed because the top of the bun was wrinkled and had condensation on it. They say they are steamed buns now umm no they aren’t! I also love the double cheeseburger fresh man that is really fire 🔥 as the kids say! Nice review!
Ah I love reading comments like this. You’re very lucky to have lived through some of the best era’s. But as far as fast food goes, even 10-12 years ago quality was so much better. I understand inflation and price gauging but the quality going down is so disappointing!
@ thank you! I agree I was very lucky! To be honest McDonald’s doesn’t taste any different today than it did in 1968! Ya the buns aren’t steamed like they were , but McDonald’s has maintained a standard of excellence and that’s why they are so huge in the industry, and I agree with King that the app is a huge money saver in this economy!
i agree i think it just tastes the same today as it always did. A lot of people say "it used to taste better!" because they remember being younger when mcdonalds was more of a special treat.

Mickey Dee's is buggin' with their new pricing!!!! Cause that cost for that was ridiculous and at that location it's sometimes impossible to cancel and drive out of the drive thru!

Hey King. I had McDonald's tonight too. I had a big Mac with extra onions & extra Mac sauce, spicy chicken sandwich, large fry, and a large vanilla shake. My last fast food meal for 2024, lol😊❤
My McD's order was always a double cheeseburger (no onions), a small fry and an iced caramel latte. I haven't gone there in ages though . If I door dash something it would be a sub or some wings from a local mom + pop, not fast food. Happy new year!! 🎉🥂

Man, I used to love McD's. Not because it was the best, but because it was the cheapest and most consistent. Now it's bad food and it's more expensive than a real restaurant. I'll go with friends once in a great while and get a double QP w/ cheese plain (all their toppings are cheeks), fries, 10 pc nugget. Then I'll proceed to drink about a gallon of plain water because I'm dying from sodium.
I get 2 dbl cheeseburgers (not McDoubles)for $2.69ea & 2 hot&spicy McChicken. I put tomato &cheese on the chickens for $3.33 ea. Lose the bottom buns and combine. That makes the "chic-cow deluxe" for $6.02 the best ½ lb sandwich for the money. I don't do drinks at fast food but I can usually get a large fry or 10 nuggets for $1 with app deals. I'm out for u der $15 every time.
I miss the snack wrap things that were pretty much a burger in a tortilla. Out of all the fast food places I always feel the worst leaving McDonalds. At least where I live it's gotten very expensive which is bad when the quarter pounder and fries are really the only things worth ordering
Also an fyi for everyone, their ice coffee is $1 in the app too, any size. I drink my coffee black, and can attest to the fact that their coffee is actually fire. Significantly better than Dunkin’ or 7/ 11 ice coffee. It’s hot or iced and any kind of coffee.
Loved this video! I’m not really in the comments to know about what you’re talking about, but there really isn’t much room for nuance with people lately. Also, your opinions on Subway AND hot mustard are on point. Quick tip: you can find an imitation hot mustard at Walmart and it’s pretty good. It’s labeled southwestern mustard. Anyways happy new year!🎉
I’m old af now but in high school in the late 90s, 98, 99 we had off campus lunch for upperclassmen and the McDonald’s near us ran a daily special for us, a different combo meal each day for $2.25. I think regular price was $5-$7ish. $2.25 was crazy tho. We were hitting mickeyDs Mondays for the nuggets and Friday for the Big Mac. Friday’s were always crazy packed
Really love your videos, and your whole asthetic with the piercings, I feel like I can relate to your vibe. I abused it like any other drug lol, hopefully I can get back on track and enjoy it to it's full potential soon.
I must be lucky because i've never had an issue getting a shake or ice cream from any of the 4-5 mcdonalds around me. And i order them frequently. I think that broken machine thing is more of an internet meme than anything.
@@FatherAxeKeeper we have 3 different locations in town and they use that excuse a lot. I think it's more they don't want to have to clean the machine, so they just say it's broken and then they don't have to make ice cream.
Back in 1983 when the nuggets came out i was working at the only other fast food where I lived. McDonald's just was built then. And everyone wanted McDonalds. And the Mc nuggets was what everyone wanted. Sweet and sour was what most of what everyone was using. And French fries (when they were good) and a milkshake. I was the odd ball who liked the hot mustard. And that's definitely my go to today. Your an old soul. Enjoy your videos. 👍

Fries at McDonald's used to be cooked in beef tallow, that's what made them great !!
That stopped in the early 90's my dude, now they have a plant based beef flavor added to the seasoning.
They're required to make quarter pounders fresh. I believe quarter pounders are never frozen beef as well but I could be wrong about that part.
