- www.autobytel.c... The 2012 Honda Odyssey may be the best minivan you can buy. It is comfortable, it performs well, and it is very practical. The base model Odyssey Minivan retails for $28,225. The top of the line Odyssey Touring Elite model is $43,675 but comes packed with tons of equipment and technology. There is enough seating for 8 passengers which makes the Odyssey a great bargain for those who need to carry a lot of people. The 2012 Honda Odyssey minivan is powered by a 3.5 liter V-6 engine that produces 248 horsepower and 250 lb-ft. of torque. There is some really cool Honda technology called VCM (variable cylinder management) which can cut the usage from 6 cylinders to 3 or 4 cylinders which aids in fuel economy. The Odyssey gets 19 MPG in the city and 28 MPG on the highway.
The 2012 Honda Odyssey is a wonderful total package if you are in the minivan market. The Odyssey has a good warranty and the resale value for this van is very high meaning it will hold its value well.

"7 or 8 years" My family has had ours for 10 years! We are the original owner, have maintained it well, and its pretty low miles for the 2012 model year (165k)
Good review. You can keep it for 7-8 years while my family has had our beloved Volvo 240 (Brick) as a reliable vehicle for 24 years! It has seen about three new cars come and go while the whole time they were to replace it!
I have 08 Touring model and dirive LA to Yosemite National Park very often. I can get about 24mpg. But, to get better mpg... you need to use cruise control on the freeway. I can't wait to get 2012 model.

I totally agree that this is one of the best cars. In fact, after I learned about this car, I just frown at most full-size SUVs, especially at the fuel economy.

7-8 years to last?!?!? HORRIBLE!!!! I'm 12 and my family's vini (my short for minivan) and it came as a used 1996 Nissan quest GXE top of the line at that time. It has served us well to trips 10 hours to Canada, 9 hours to Virginia, has over 135000 miles, and is still running today. We need a new minivan because we need more space and the vine is doing these weird thrusts (but if it can be repaired then we'll keep it) it has served 2 families before us and served each one of us nearly 20 years!

Resale value high is not good if you are looking for same year used. Town and country is better, more functional interior, better engine, it lookd better also

Honda = seating for 8, more standard features, longer lasting ... but I agree Chrysler is more popular and really cool, but Honda is more appealing

you don't believe me??? you can verify the transmission problem with Consumer Report Magazine. Google it up and you will see owners are complaining about having to replace the damn deactivation engine. plus, deactivation engine doesn't help much with fuel economy, so Honda didn't really break ground here.
I own a 2012 touring and the worst hiway fuel economy of 10L per 100km. 8L if I'm not traveling uphill. 7 years now and 120k the only issue I've had is just now I'm having to replace a front bumper sensor.
the seat at the back is not automatic :(
The Nissan Quest is the ugliest box on wheels I've seen in my life. Literally hurts my eyes.
touring model, you'd be lucky to get 20 mile per gallon hwy.
We have a big family and keep a minivan in our fleet. Chrysler makes the best by far!
