As to other comments...thanks for posting this. They charge about $110 here in Jville, fla. which is close to what you charge. As one person commented, the cost of a new phone is not much more. I was expecting $20-$30 for repair at a shop like yours. But, thanks for the video...I appreciated it. Also, could you send a link for the heat pad and prying tools you used.?

I just replaced the LCD on my K51, I took the LCD off the frame and kept the frame. I took the motherboard out to not expose it to heat to take the screen out, and now that everything is back together it doesn't turn on. The LED charging light will come on when you plug it in, but no startup. And I don't think its the screen because when I would start it normally it would vibrate, but it doesn't do that.
I'm going to go back and look at it to see if I missed anything. But if anyone knows whats up with it that would be great to know.

Damn lol I'll just buy a new phone. I've changed iPhone screens all by myself and that was not too many steps. Way to go, thanks for posting. I see why they want to charge me 155 to fix the screen but honestly that's what I paid for the phone really. Might as well buy a new one.
Hi Kelly this is a repair a little bit more complicated or let’s say more steps to follow. About the price it varies by city we are in Arizona and we charge $95 for this repair with 1 year warranty. Hello, I just cracked my screen and was wondering if you have to take off the entire back to fix that? Everything is working fine the screen is just cracked and some videos i found said that you need more than just a new screen. What materials would I need other than the tools to fix the screen?

How long does it take to heat up the glue to pry off the back to get started? II just have my hairdryer.
Couple minutes on low mode. Make sure you make circles around with the hair dryer.

@@tamakisimp2 when this happen, internal lcd is damaged due to a drop or pressure on the screen, replacing the screen as shown on this video fixes the issue.

why do u need to take off the back, if your screen is the issue? Also I have the same phone but through Boost Mobile. My screen is broken but the glass is not broken bad, you just can not see anything on the screen just a black blob and lines. Do you suggest i buy a repair kit without or with the frame? Not sure what the difference is between the replacement screen with the fame or without is? because really, if the frame is the area where the volume, etc. button is, mines looks fine and works fine. The thing is that all connectors are located behind the screen and to have access to them the back part needs to be removed. Honestly What I recommend you is buying the part with frame this could cost probably around $10 usd but will save you a little of time and frustration and the repair will be completed way better. Also if you replace the screen without frame you will need some extra tools to remove the old one and extra tape to install the new one into the frame.

Yes if you have the experience and special machine to do it is possible. (For us is not worth the time invested to do just the glass)

Is the back cover plastic? Also, can the clear protective oval lens be replaced, if cracked, or does the whole cover have to be replaced? Thanks & great video + I subbed!
Hi yes it’s plastic also the camera lens can just be replaced itself we have not had finding just the lens at the moment. But the back cover with the glass on it cost around 10-15 dollars on Ebay and as you can see it’s an easy replacement. I recommend you to replace the lens before gets dirty and camera gets damaged due to dust.
@@TERepair a hobby I have is picking up discarded phones, tablets, laptops, and tinker with them. Latest find was an LG K51 (think from boost or metro). It works, but the screen is cracked. The rear cover is in good shape but the clear lens for the cameras + LED is also cracked. The cameras look in good shape, too. Thanks 🤓 if i can afford to fix it, i want to use it more for the multi camera feature

For this model you need the LCD this part makes the full touch, make sure you order this part instead of just Glass

No every screen is compatible only with the same model that it was made for in this case you cannot use the screen between them have a good one
So i order the screen thinking its gonna look like this, since the title says this is a screen replacement guide. but you don't replace just the screen, you have a frame and other components attached to the new screen that didn't come with the glass that i ordered. I ordered it thinking that's what composes the "screen", then recieved only the screen.. that makes the title misleading since now i have to figure out how to do the rest myself.

What a guy. He made it seem way more complicated than it actually is. He's replacing the screen and the mid frame which by the way should come with many of those components he swapped. People are gonna look at this and be discouraged about fixing their screen themselves. Which is why many of us search for this in the first place. Screen could be defective. Screen/lcd makes the touch function.

What's the blue type on the new screen for inside? I left mine on the plastic blue tape. Should it even matter? Now I get nothing with the new screen I put in. When my broken screen half worked. Dam. Anyone knows what I could be missing on this?
