@@backupmemories897 The issue has always been how Nexon monetizes their games into the ground with redundant, tedious bullshit. Example being the fact I would spend money on paint colors as long as they are 1 time payments. Nexon really wants to make paint a perishable 1 time use so you can only color 1 part of your costume before you have to buy the paint again. I think James is bringing up a good point with the number of currencies as well. This is a tactic developed by psychologists to help boost sales through confusion. Anytime a game does this I avoid spending any real money, especially in a Nexon game. It's not a good idea to over monetize because that will make sure that only whales are left standing and whales get really bored playing a game that has no minos to show off to. Thus the Nexon curse of killing every fucking game they publish.

Its not p2w. Its pay for convience. Everything can be found in the game. You dont get anything extra but time and cosmetics

I think this review is spot on and I was honestly under the impression from day one it would go "Pay to Aid" since it's a Free PvE game...I mean these companies have to make money somehow. It was a fun beta (I played all 3) and I plan to put a lot of time in it. As long as it doesn't go completely "Pay to Win" i.e. there's a boss fight that's completely impossible to beat unless you buy this weapon sort of deal...I'm completely fine with them monetizing skins and XP Bonus type stuff 🤷🏾‍♂

For sure! I hope they don’t get that crazy either. It’s a fun game! I hope they have a good road map ahead on the direction they want to go

@@jamesrise Same, if done properly Nexon legitimately has a chance to take the place of Destiny 2 for a lot of us and be our GoTo looter shooter for years to come…let's just pray they don't get greedy 🙏🏾 lol

@@bluemagooI hope they realize they have a fun game here. The game play has come a long way since the first beta. I’m sure the whales will be all over this game . The monetization just has to have balance. The many different currencies in the battle passed concerned me

Played 2 of the betas and will definitly play at release but gonna f2p all the way since sofar i looks more like pay for convinience than full on p2w but we'll be able to tell at launch depending on how slow progression will be if it can be grinded somewhat efficiently it might be fair if not it would be p2w it's a difficult balance to hit doe so we'll see if it's like warframe and let's you progress decently without paying it would be nice i just hope they don't ruin it

This game will be a pay to win swipe fest. When you buy a skin you gotta buy the material to roll for a chance to paint the skin. Get your credit card ready, you're going to need hundreds if not thousands of dollars.

In the case of kids commenting, kids who have no idea what it takes to make money or how much it costs to keep something running, I even understand the criticism of monotization in f2p games, but seeing adults certainly with that experience who don't realize that a game is f2p but it was not free to produce! Of course there have to be microtransactions! It's the way to pay for the work done and for the game we're playing without paying! and we can continue playing without paying. And there are still those who make fun of those who buy things in the games store when in fact, as an F2P player, they are the ones who are paying to keep the game that I like and am playing without putting in a cent. I think this constant attack on f2p games is ridiculous! Do any of you (adults who work and aren't the parents who buy everything) work for free or are you considering doing so?

@@renatol9636 I’m fine with monetization in free to play games. For example, Fortnite does it right with just selling strictly cosmetics with no pay to win or pay for convenience.
From what I saw in this game, there will be plenty of cosmetics to buy, characters to unlock, and a battle pass(which is great). It’s just the pay for convenience in this game will be a bit overboard and will turn a lot of players off in the long run. Nexon is known for there predatory monetization tactics. We will see how truly it is when it drops next month🙌🏽

@@jamesrise I think paying for convenience in a PVE game is not a problem at all as it does not bring any disadvantages to those who do not use it. We are stuck in the idea that we all have to have the same thing and there can be no paid benefits even if those advantages for others do not harm us!
I think we need to look more at ourselves and focus on enjoying the games in the way we like most and less on the ones that others may or may not have!
If a friend of mine has the opportunity to spend €20/dollar to unlock a character and I have to play another 10 hours on my own, no problem! He paid, I didn't! I have another €20 in my wallet and he has another character... it's fair and it also helps me in terms of financing the game I like, which has the same content for me and him, but in the end I don't spend money!
But it seems that the general idea is that games have to be f2p and still obey the rules that best suit us.
It's one thing to pay 80€/dollar for a game because there was an investment and as customers we must be demanding and critical even to improve the quality of the products we buy, but when we are enjoying something free we have to be much more understanding and know how to differentiate what is or is not a negative measure.
