      When we see people thru a different lense we can easily be tempted to think or we can judge them by their appearance discretion decoram Virtue and Integrity are traits that are I believe passed down from 1 generation of women and men to another generation the lie is that many women and men believe a lie this is who you are this is the person you've become and that's not true if only someone would have spoken the right words to encourage her in her talents and gifts

    If anyone out there is looking for an incredibly intelligent, poetic, dignified answer to help explain Norma Jean's tragic life, you need only listen to Clifford Odet's interview toward the end of this video (19:22). This man knew her, loved her, and obviously respected her. What a beautiful and honest tribute.

    Norma seemed to have deep abandonment issues stemming from being neglected as well as not being nurtured during her formative years. From having her personal boundaries violated starting in early childhood she had painful insecurities. Add to the mix, having to deal with so many sexual predators in the profession she was in, it's miraculous that she lived past the age of 25 without completely losing her mind.

      The fact that George Cukor was one of a number of men who don’t respect women or even despise women is unsurprising given how misogynistic the Hollywood system is. She was desired by men; they constantly underestimated her mind; her genius at comic acting. Thank heavens she made the films she did. He certainly became famous because of her genius at acting.

    I kind of get annoyed when everyone constantly portrays her as a victim. She wasn't a victim ( only as far as people using and abusing her star status was concerned) What people fail to see is that she was also amazingly courageous and strong. To have endured most of what a lot of the people around her dished out and not quit her while acting career shows tenacity and the ability to spring back. She was a survivor for the most part. It was the people ( or should I say the users) and the doctors who really were I'll equipped to deal with the sort of issues Marilyn had ( bipolar being one and a severe insomnia problem) She literally needed pills to help her to sleep every night. And the doctors willy nilly dolling them out to her. That's what killed her she would have survived I believe if she'd had the right supportive people around her who knew what they were dealing with in the first place.

I have PTSD, from 15yrs of being molested by my stepdad and I also take sleeping pills to fall asleep, stay asleep and fight the flashbacks. Considering she had severe trauma in her childhood as well, it makes sense why she depended on them and often took more than prescribed.

      BlueEyed _Scorpio Norma Jean Baker was ABSOLUTELY MURDERED. What faction of high power was responsible for the killing AND the cover up is the question that will NEVER be permitted an answer. I personally believe (from TONS of research!!!) that ALL factions were asked permission ahead of time, regarding The Hit, just like the mafia does. Marilyn stepped on so many toes because she was smart and had so many bigshots by The Bxxls; so she thought; so that she could run and control everything and get her own way. Hard to know which faction had more reason, since ALL factions were being squeezed hard by Marilyn. You live by the sword, you die by the sword. Marilyn was no victim. She was playing a very dangerous game and she knew that. And she was very happy and very arrogant her last days because she thought she had ALL THE BIGSHOT'S bxxls in the ringer and that she had won the war. Little did she know that she left ALL OF THEM no choice but extermination. I dont think assasination EVER crossed her mind because I think she believed her fame protected her from that retaliation. Marilyn was no innocent victim all the way back to her youth. She was a manipulator and user from puberty onward that we know of. Maybe even younger, perhaps born with that personality (her mother had it) Narcissism!! destroys all around them and every now and then the narcissist gets payback even though it is rare.

    I really resent George Cukor in this video with his phony praise of Marilyn Monroe - his actions at the time of Marilyn's firing from the movie "Something's Got to Give" in 1962, shortly before her death, showed how much he really hated her when he insisted to 20th Century Fox Studios that she be fired because of her attitude while working on the film, because of her unnecessary tardiness (Marilyn was very ill at the time from a sinus infection) and also he made her look like a complete flake even though she was really physically sick at the time. Fox did fire Marilyn and they also shut the picture down but when Dean Martin said he wouldn't do the movie if Marilyn wasn't in it, Fox changed their minds and hired Marilyn Monroe back and was going to replace George Cukor with director John Negulesco. Unfortunately, Marilyn died 3 or 4 days after she was resigned to do the movie. If anyone watches the filming of "Something's Got to Give" here on youtube.com, they will see that Marilyn Monroe was not unprofessional, she was not hard to get along with on the set - she was kind to everyone! George Cukor and 20th Century Fox fired Marilyn because she was ill and they didn't care about that - they were only concerned in using her for making more money!

    "Hollywood created her," said George Cukor. Only the "her" that was created was not a real woman. Marilyn knew this in her soul, and feared she was nothing except that image. She fought against that a long time... when she wanted desperately to play a serious role, as the prostitute Sasha in "Crime and Punishment," she was denied the opportunity to act seriously. Lee Strasburg used her to boost his acting school, but was among those who denigrated her. R.I.P., Marilyn. It took a new generation to appreciate you as an actress and as a person in your own right.

    Odetts’ analysis of her chronic lateness was astute. Although she desperately wanted to be a star, on some level she resented the demands that required her to perform like a trained circus pony, and to always look perfect. This ambivalence is understandable given her childhood of not being loved for who she naturally was. She had to transform herself into a perfect goddess in order to be a star. People who endure a childhood of deprivation, rejection and neglect are understandably triggered by adult circumstances that demand they be a certain way in order to be successful (loved). In short, being late is often an unconscious - passive aggressive - way of acting out.
    As Marilyn’s first modeling agent recalled, she resisted their demands to change her natural appearance. Those instincts - to be accepted for herself - were actually very healthy. Ultimately, she gave in and agreed, radically transforming herself, surgically altering her face, straightening her wavy, brown hair, dying it platinum blonde. One wonders if her life might have had a happier ending if she had stuck to her instincts and not allowed the system to mold her into a “doll.” The agent even used that word in this interview. Marilyn likely wouldn’t have achieved superstardom if she had kept her natural, girl next door appearance instead of becoming a goddess caricature, but she might have gained something better. Perhaps she would have found happiness with her male counterpart - a nice boy next door like Jim, the one she divorced. We’ll never know for sure but as a rule all that glitters isn’t gold, and diamonds most certainly aren’t a girl’s best friend.

      In her autobiography she explained how when she was an orphan she had was the 8th person to take a bath out of the same water so that when she made it she liked to take long baths and empty the water and then fill it back up again and put perfumes and oils in the water every time she filled the tub back up and that was why she was so late all the time.

    Wonderful piece for it's day, and yet we are still grappling with the same questions, and if possible, the same intensity and hurt emotions. We have so much more knowledge now about her life, especially those last month's, but she is still lost to us - forever. Marilyn's main problem was she was utterly alone, and because of her childhood that void could never, would never be filled. If she had carried a child to term, it's possible she might have found that which alluded her, love and happiness. Of course this film, done within days of her death was still full of things we now know were lies. Yes, she was fired, but that did not contribute to her death, despite Peter Lawfords lies. She was rehired, and that had been in the press prior to her death about the negotiations.

    Thanx for this rare footage! The reason for the “dislike” was for the News footage & agency who produced this special. I feel like they again ( media) used Marilyn for a boost in ratings. It made me mad- Norma Jean was more than just an “2-bit actress “ She was smart , witty ,genuine & loving person. That just got caught up in the wrong bad side of Hollywood fame & fortune . I’m sure she just wanted to be accepted & loved like anyone else. I feel like she got used by the “System” . Hollywood “created” Marilyn Monroe & destroyed Norma Jean. I supposed that’s the price you pay for fame & fortune. 💔🥲RIP Norma Jean 😇

      Nancy Markiewick The CIA mind control program that they now use on all young actors and musicians nowadays so they don't get out of control.--- Probably because MM became such a big problem once they created her and promoted her to stardom and her brand of MM. Then she thought she (MM) should run the show instead of the producers and backers and investors. She forgot she was just Norma Jean Baker who never finished high school and should have been grateful that they gave her the opportunity to play the full time part of MM. She was NOT an MK ultra victim or they could have controlled her completely and she would still be alive today.

    No wonder she was uncertain and shy: She was told she wasn’t enough all of her life. Her dad didn’t stand by her side, her mom left her for a man, she had to change her look, her name and she was divorced several times - which were setbacks again. Then she worked in a competitive business in which there was jealousy and the most powerful man of the United States treated her like a whore. So did the most powerful man in intellectualism and the most powerful man in sports - her ex husbands. Instead of protecting her - they told her she wasn’t enough. No wonder she got depressions. And killed herself.

    She was very pretty before the Hollywood transformation and always had a stunning figure, but the physical changes they made were dramatic - straightening and dying her hair, plastic surgery. If you put the before and after photos side by side, the metamorphosis was monumental. I wonder if she ever missed her original appearance.

    • @ironduke2000
      @ironduke2000 Рік тому +1

      She did all that on her own. She straightened and lightened her hair early on, during her modeling career, and had her teeth straightened and a little cosmetic surgery done on her nose and chin before she was signed a second time by Twentieth Century-Fox. She was a master of makeup also; she and her makeup man, Whitey Snyder, together worked out the makeup formula that became synomous with Marilyn Monroe. Her studio had very little input in her image compared to its manufacturing of other stars. It was Howard Hawks, the director of Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, who in a sense added the finishing touches to "Marilyn Monroe" by casting her in the "dumb blonde" part that she couldn't shake afterward and by subtly tweaking her appearance -- sort of streamlining it, so to speak. She was a great student of her own features and of the camera and she modified her features with the camera in mind, and I've never read or heard that she regretted it, though she was well aware that Marilyn Monroe was a persona about which she torn, since it both made and limited her, though she had name changed legally to Marilyn Monroe, which I think says a great deal.

You can see interviews with Jeanne Carmen on youtube. Marilyn Monroe was a brilliant, beautiful, uniquely talented actress- and also highly intelligent. Often was described by friends as sweet, shy, loyal, a hard worker . . . There has been only one Marilyn Monroe.

    fascinating this was just 5 days after her suicide, i think most of the comments are pretty accurate, what they didn't know was bobby kennedy had just broke it off with her that day, and marilyn was obviously very distraught, and i'm sure she was told not to make any comments about their affair, marilyn was a bit naïve in that sense, thinking a relationship like that could work.
    the thing about suicide is that killing yourself is an impulsive act, you lose a great job, someone you love leaves you, you're financially ruined... and the first few hours are the worse, the fears, the worries, the hurt, the despair, it's all very intense in the beginning and this is when most people commit suicide, if they can be helped thru a tough time like this the desire to end it all begins to fade, not always, but generally speaking.
    marilyn was very alone and didn't really have a confidant like that, and the people she did call that night didn't take her threats seriously, something else we've learned about suicide is if you're talking about it, it should be taken very seriously, peter lawford callously told her not to leave a note, she had asked her neighbor jeanne crawford in a "distressed" state to "please come over", crawford said she couldn't come over, she had also called her psychiatrist. finally lawford 2nd guessed his flippant attitude and decided to check up on her... it was too late. but he did destroy her suicide note according to lawford's 3rd wife deborah gould.

But they did want to cover up their close association with her. That was the Kennedy cover up. And people went crazy with theories once they learned Bobby had been there that day. Most likely scenario but it sells more books to go crazy with outlandish stories. Just listen to how many people claimed to have been there or talked to her that night. Or claimed to have a friendship with her. It's the ones making money or trying to gain notoriety who kept it going.

      with regard to Monroe's "tardiness" on the movie set, there is ample proof from her last uncompleted film "Somethings Got To Give" there are time sheets that show her being chronically late, there is no conspiracy against her, the evidence is there, get over it already as for her estate, that was hardly impressive, she didn't provide one cent to the woman she elected to be her mother's guardian, the facts speak for themselves.

    • @JudgeJulieLit
      @JudgeJulieLit 9 років тому +5

      +Greg Rak After MGM fired Marilyn, within weeks they rehired her for a million dollars. Had she lived to complete the film, her estate would have impressed many. She provided no caretaking to the mother who had abandoned her as a child, never role modeled caretaking for Marilyn.

      @JudgeJulieLit 9 років тому +4

      +Greg Rak No conspiracy by the film makers. But even costar Dean Martin said, replace Marilyn and he quits. Unlike most timely timecard punchers, she had the star quality that alone would sell the picture. Apres Marilyn, Doris Day replaced her--only in the sense that per her m.o., she showed up on time and hit all her marks.

    I think that was cruel to create Misfits...seems like Miller was hoping to push her over the edge! But she held on & the movie Something’s Gotta Give would’ve been SUPER with Marilyn & Dean Martin! The part that was filmed is on YT! It’s GREAT! I so wished she & Dean had gotten to finish it! Dean said he’d wait as long as Marilyn needed! He didn’t want her replaced! There was talk that she might be able to finish the movie according to a friend with whom she’d had a conversation! And I highly doubt she would’ve abandoned Joe DiMaggio, Jr., as they talked that night at 8:30pm by his admission & he could confide in her. She knew he & his dad weren’t as close as they should’ve been & no way would she have abandoned him! She knew all too well what that was like. ♥️🌹🌿
