- Taken from the amazing PBS interviews website.
Emily DiMaggio was Dom DiMaggio’s wife. She was photographed at dinner with Dom, Joe and Marilyn in early 1955 after the divorce announcement.
The interviewer is a disrespectful jerk; Emily DiMaggio is a class act, lovely in every way.
Interviewers often are. Have you seen some of Barbra Walters'?
@davidcattin7006 Yes, remember how she treated Dolly pardon and richard pryor. Honestly, I think they do it on purpose for ratings.
Most white men are
@@Belluser-we1uc5cb2l Haven't seen the Richard Pryor one, but Dolly responded in such a dignified way it was clear who was the stronger woman.
Beautiful classy lady in every way and amazing for her age..
I heard too Marilyn tried hard to educate herself. Bless her.
She was married to Arthur Miller. I’m sure he helped her.
She had an IQ in the realm of Einstein. Am sure she had no problem educating herself.
Emily looks amazing! What a beautiful lady
I like this lady's sweater and scarf and earrings.
Emily couldn’t be cuter
Seems like a wonderfully lovely lady
She looks 😍 and speaks the truth! ❤
Rather robotic limiting interviewer doesn't show much empathy or pursue any interesting avenues not on his prescribed list. Sounds like he's got a set of questions & by God he's gonna ask them no matter what. Disappointing he had a great guest & didn't make the most of her.
Very frustrating, especially as so few people from the DiMaggio side have so spontaneously spoken about Marilyn.
I’m confused. The clip I just viewed is a minute and 53 seconds. It is clearly part of a longer interview. Is your comment based on the longer interview because frankly, it doesn’t make much sense for this short clip. If you know when the complete interview can be seen, I’d be interested in that.
You are spot on, well said. She was such an interesting lady, pity they didn't find someone more skilful to do the interview. Wasted opportunity.
what a BEAUTIFUL LADY PURE CLASS wow 95 what is her secret?
He looked after her. Joe seemed to care an awful lot. Men aren’t like that if it’s just about great sex.
What a jerk this interviewer
I have a long time friend who is a DiMaggio. Joe is family on her grandfather's side. She was a young girl when Joe was married to Marilyn.
Se aveva 99 anni 2 anni fa, direi che era un po' più grande di Marilyn, giovane, ma non ragazzina. Se non faccio male i conti nel 54,quando Marilyn e Joe erano sposati, lei ne aveva 31
I had no idea Emily DiMaggio was as good looking as Marilyn Monroe.
00:54 que elegante mujer
DiMaggio took Marilyn to his mother’s home and his parental bed for their honeymoon night😂 … Marilyn was pretty devastated.
I was told that from eyewitnesses😂❤
What book is she referencing?
Considering the timeline of the interview and the content, it points to 'Dinner with DiMaggio' by Rock Positano. His book contains quotes of Joe sharing private details of his intimacy with Marilyn.
@@SilverTechnicolorTheir sex life was in "Joe and Marilyn, Legends In Love" by C. David Heymann, a book that was sympathetic to both, and I do believe that great sex was all that held them together, that they had absolutely nothing to talk about before or after.
@@akrenwinkle The problem is that C David Heymann is now considered a notorious crook when it comes to interviews and what he wrote. For example he invented all the interviews with Joe Jr and Peter Lawford. Highly recommend this article that explains how he managed to sell those books. www.newsweek.com/2014/09/05/c-david-heymanns-career-serial-fabulist-266876.html
@@SilverTechnicolor The article's interesting, to say the least. You won't like it, but even if Heymann had a casual relationship with accuracy, it's my impression that both Joe and Marilyn were bordering what's now called "special needs" and outside their respective occupations, had nothing to offer anyone in a relationship but sex. I say this as a senior, and I don't mean high school. I also say it as a long-time fan. Of Marilyn's, I mean.
@@akrenwinkle I think that’s downplaying a lot of their relationship. As someone who is currently writing a book on DiMaggio, there is a lot out there that has been repeated for effect and without any source. C David Heymann is the definition of that. Joe and Marilyn had a lot in common - extreme sensitive nature, difficult childhoods and craving for emotional affection to name a few.
Dimaggio couldn't handle his own celebrity at all, let alone her Mega fame!
The look on her face says it all.

How is she related to Joe
Emily was married to Dominic DiMaggio, Joe was Dominic’s brother.

@@evamastrianni4744 Dom DiMaggio was also a professional baseball player. He was excellent (though not as good as Joe). He played for the Red Sox.
Patronising 😂
What a lovely and very classy lady. I had read that the DiMaggio family liked Marilyn and thought well of her. I'm glad to see it's true.
older woman men and children loved her.
Emily died at age 99 on February 21, 2022. She was married for 60 years to Joe DiMaggio's brother Dominic.
Was he very wealthy? She seems to be in a multi-million dollar mansion. I watch old movies and old TV shows and when someone was in their seventies they were considered very elderly. Now we have people reaching almost 100 on a regular basis. Big shift in our lifetime.
@@jerrygottlick4614Dom did very well in business after retiring from baseball. Pretty sure he set up some kind of manufacturing operation in New England.
RIP
Rest in peace Emily!
Emily was so beautiful! I love her scarf! Can't believe she was 95 here! Gorgeous! 💖♥️
What did she mean that she was no competition because this woman was beautiful
Hermés?
My Mother was a friend to June DiMaggio and after a few conversations with her June told me not to pay any attention to any thing bad they say about Marilyn. She was a wonderful wholesome person. Perfectly happy to go get a burger at a drive in and not go to a red carpet event. RIP Mom, June and Marilyn.
Yeah right! I knew Marilyn Monroe 😅
@@katinabotten You wish...
🩷
I wouldn't call her wholesome with all her nude photos and affairs with the Kennedy's.
I believe that. Marylin never struck me as a pretentious or stupid person. And June was wonderful, intelligent and earnest; funny too!
This woman definitely knows the truth!!
She is a very pretty lady. Rest in peace🙏✌️❤️
She is adorable.
Quite lucid at 95, I hope to be too.
Breath of fresh air…. Truth and nothing but!!
Classy lady.
She IS LOVELY
She is a classy lady
I've watched a lot of video about Marilyn. And I think her only real true love was, Joe DiMaggio. I think he truly loved her very much. Such a shame that Hollywood can make and break, anyone they chose. Whenever they chose. And that people fall embrace it like they do.
Spent a couple days wiry Joe during a real estate closing. He was nothing but a gentleman & spoke lovingly a special time for me. about Marilyn all the time. It was
A special time for me.
I like this lady's sweater and scarf and earrings.
She’s lovely! ❤
Where’s the rest of it ?
The PBS website has her interview listed under the "Ted Williams: "The Greatest Hitter Who Ever Lived" documentary material.
What a beautiful and classy lady.
Happy Birthday Marilyn xx
She has grace and she can speak her truth . I love Marilyn Monroe their will never be another Marilyn.
I miss Mr & Mrs D. They were wonderful!’

The interviewer should find another occupation ! I'm 75 and this tidbit is ONE of the WORST interviews I have ever seen with such a CLASSY LADY who deserved much better than him ! Rip to a very Classy Dame !
God Bless 🙏❤️🙏❤️🙏❤️
Dom DiMaggio was the same way, would not criticize MM. Just said nothing when goaded.
sie ist alt geworden und Marilyn jung gestorben.
Old voice. 😂😂😂
Joe DiMaggio got pushed away from the Yankees too soon.
Why talk about someone who’s been dead for years?
Emily herself is adorable in this interview.
Smart and beautiful lady.
I care about the sex life.
Very classy lady
That why joe hated bobby kennedy nedy he knew he bobby had her killed her to keep her quiet he would not shake

Is this his sister or joes first wife?
It’s the wife of Joe’s brother, Dom DiMaggio.
Joe never remarried after Marilyn
@@princesssmileyface91 rumour has it they were supposed to remarry, but then she died
@@princesssmileyface91 Perhaps no-one could compare with Marilyn, even though they divorced.
@@paulinek9764 That's most likely, yes.
So Marilyn and her friend were talking when Marilyn said “ my husband has dandruff and I don’t know what to do for him” after which the friend replied “oh my dear, give him Head and Shoulders” to which Marilyn replied “but how do I give shoulders?”
I’m related to her ❤
