You’re exactly right!! I had 3 surgeries on my feet in 2022. I learned then that I had to get my home in order. It’s bad to be in bed, and all you can do is look around at the clutter and the crap I’ve collected piled up. Here it is 2025, and I still haven’t finished. It’s a shame how much “stuff” we American buy, that just accumulates and just makes like overwhelming. I can’t even do the crafts that I have started because of my guilt. 2025…will be my year, of getting organized and clutter free.

Same here, I was my father’s joy and he was my protector. I was 18 and felt like “how will I ever get through life without him”? He was such a gentle man and studied Gods word all the time and I couldn’t see how God could take such a devout Christian that should be on earth. I totally get it!

Just happened by for the first time and wanted to encourage you and give you some unsolicited advice. The last thing you need to worry about right now is de-cluttering your home. I know there are a lot of women who are driven crazy by clutter, but honestly, it's just your stuff. You're not having your home photographed for a magazine or anything. If necessary, ASK FOR HELP. Ask your friends, ask your church. ASK. People are generous and probably don't know what to do for you, and would love a chance to come and help you out a bit.
I was a caregiver for my husband with brain cancer for five years and widowed at 32 with two toddlers. You would be astonished at how many people have gone through a similar experience to yours, and you are not alone! Focus on what's most important and on getting better, and let the house go. It's really ok.

When I was growing up...when someone would comment..." her house is so clean, you can eat off of her floors," my little Jewish mother would remind them that only dogs eat off of the floor.... we only care about you... we can declutter later....sending love, prayers, and strength.❤

Bless you for sharing how things can truly go in the opposite direction when we least expect it! For me, this need for the space to accommodate a wheel chair wouldn't be possible as I am not organized. As a senior, it is time for me to take to heart your message! Prayers for your journey and continue sharing.

I can sorta relate, I shattered my kneecap and went to the hospital had surgery and was admitted to a rehab facility for 2 weeks, I live alone and am over 65 with no immediate family and the night it happened my bedroom was a mess lol. when I came home after 2 weeks to had have someone throw my clothes on the floor, I had to use a walker for several months, then I had my co-workers come over and my place was a total mess. So, I completely understand. The second surgery a year later, my condo flooded, and etc. Glad you are home with family. What I learned was no one really cared about how messy my place was it was just me, even the CEO who came over has never mentioned. Wishing you a speedy recovery...

I’m so very sorry you’ve been dealing with all of this. This is a good reminder that you never know what can happen with a surgery. I’ve had five major surgeries and I’m so aware how blessed I’ve been. I’m also one who has trouble keeping up with my home. Luckily my daughter in law is living with us and she has helped me soooooo much. I do need to declutter a lot and of course that is something where I need to make decisions. I have an autoimmune disease and very rarely feel well or have energy to do anything. What you’re going through is what I fear as I’m aware that you never know when you won’t be able to do much. Wishing that you will be better soon.❤️🙏

In 2015, i had an episode of svt with a heart rate of 240 while sitting in a chair. 911 was called, and emts arrived along with firemen. When my heart did not respond to the 2 doses of adinosene, i was sure my heart would soon just stop, and i was a goner. I had been meaning to clean the family room for about 2 weeks. All i could think, in what i thought were my last moments? I am going to die in this dirty room, i really wished i had cleaned it. At the time my parents were alive, i have grown children. But all i could think was how undignified it was to die in a messy room.

Good morning 🙏❤️. This is my first video I found on UA-cam and I’m so sorry that you had to go through such an ordeal but the surgery went good for you. However, I honestly don’t wish paralysis on anyone since I’ve been born with Spina Bifida, paralyzed from the waste down, also a dialysis patient for almost 17 yrs too. I’ve only know a wheelchair and not walking so it has been easy for me to be able to think of ways to do things from a wheelchair like, doing the dishes from my chair with the cupboards on the bottom below the kitchen sink open so my footrests can swing open and I can be right up to the sink. To pick things up off the floor, there are what are called reachers and they come in many sizes and shapes too. I have two. One is in the living room for there and the kitchen, and I also have one for my bedroom next to my bed and I’d I need them too in the bathroom I just take them with me or if I’m able to lean Dow not pick whatever it is off the floor I do that too. I’m used to this lightweight chair and I know just how to exactly lean over so I don’t fall out of my chair too. So, if I can get a pair of reachers that will help you in a big way and even to get clothes off of hangers too but do t have the hangers that have those loopy hook looking ends cause then your clothes will get caught and you’ll have an issue. God bless you and keep that positive attitude cause that is what will help you through those tough moments. Yes, you’ll have those days cause I do even though I was born this way but, being positive is your best friend and a strong faith too. God bless and you surly can do this. You definitely look very smart to figure out things. Have a blessed day too and I also pray that 2025 will be an awesome year for you too. Sue M. Clearwater, Florida ❤️🙏🥰👍🏻🌴😎❌⭕️

My husband of 34 years divorced me last years as he didn’t ’look good’ with a disabled wife
I struggle with chronic pain 24/7 and need a wheelchair.
I bought an open plan house but struggle to get in the bedrooms. I struggle with housework and ironing and washing.
I’ve bought myself a chair that’s higher than my wheelchair so I can wash up and cook meals in the kitchen.
You’re lucky you do have help in your husband. Even though he works.
I’m sure he has the weekend off where he can help you with the house work.

Im so sorry youre going through this. Continuing to pray for you. Something to help you/ ask doctor about regarding the lymph node removal. Lymph nodes help lymph fluid move out of the extremity. Go ahead and take measurements around your wrist, below elbow, and mid biceps. This will be your baseline. If you start to feel fullness or heaviness in the arm you can remeasure to see if there is swelling. To prevent swelling you can get arm compression sleeves from amazon. The compression level for an arm is about 15-20mmHg. Some people wear as a preventative even before swelling starts. May be something to ask doctor about. And ask doc about home health physical therapy to work on leg strength, balance and gait training.

Hi there this is my first video I’ve seen on your channel. I’m sorry about your diagnosis. I’m in a power chair since 93. The best thing I can suggest to keep the middle of your rooms open have furniture around the perimeter of room. As far as dishes go sit as far forward as you can in your chair and have your knees leaning against thecabnit drawers that f you have any under sink. The other thing is get a set of reachers from Amazon to help pick things off the floor. I’m more than willing to help you with other ideas suggestions. If you reply back we can figure out how to chat.

I have 3 reachers, 1small for sticks in the yard,I am short. Than I have a medium, and a large! Works great when my back is in spasm. I am presently started in the AM on my sewing room. I have been working on it slowly for the last few months, should I repeat - SLOWLY. In the morning I am taking the L shaped desk apart, and putting it out on the curb. I have big totes, and smaller boxes to sort by item.so far I have 8 rotary cutters. I have been quilting for 22 years, so I have a lot of stuff. Wish me luck. I love the IKEA ideas of organization for sewing rooms.

Since, I've been hospitalized 3 times in ICU, 4 visits to the ER, 3 Cardioversions (shock my heart) a cardiac ablation which led to an aneurysm in my groin (site of entry for the ablation) tomorrow I'm having an ultrasound of my groin/leg looking for clots, etc! Are you on regular meds...?I woke up with seizures after spine surgery (scary!) - it was due to an interaction with the anesthisia and my regular meds (the doctors had to to some research to find that out, it was not a common known side effect for my meds). When the narcotics weaned, the seizures did also. I hope you recovered from that experience, its hard waking up with seizures, being helpless, especially for such a long time. Perhaps friends or neighbours can help you with organisation (not for looks, for you to be independent in your own house). But all of that takes energy.

Nothing like your experience but the first time, per all the monitors he was pretty much clear of the meds and was simply sleeping. Leading up to the procedure he hadnt been sleeping well and once pain free, relaxed, and asleep he simply wasnt rising "even when we csll his name". Hopefully they ordered Occupational Therapy to come to your home. If not, ask for it and they can show you how to deal with dishes, etc, and many other daily activities. Good luck! For now, microwave and paper plates are your friend. 😅

Sweetheart I’m so very sorry you have had seizures your whole life . I can’t imagine how terrible that must be. I wish it would all go away and you could be healthy and be able to live a normal life. It makes me so sad knowing what you have been through. My prayers are with you ❤🙏

If this ends up being anymore than temporary,PT and OT could help a lot
You really don’t have to reinvent the wheel
    Ask your provider for kelp

So the Dr.removed your lymph nodes under your armpit? That is something they should have done when you had the one enlarged one you talked about in your last post!I know ( from experience) that it is a very painful surgery to have done!

I can home for Disney Sept 15, 2024. On the Friday before I did laundry at the Laundry room at Pop century. Going in the room my mobility chair tipped over and caught my ankle in the doorway. Also my chest hurt really bad. Going thru security at the airport as I was sitting down a big pain ran down my back. Went to the doctor’s when I got home and found out my ankle was broken, sternum broken and 2 brakes in my back. Slowly recovering. Had back repaired 12 days ago and the next day I couldn’t walk. Went thru Christmas this way and still need to get back to the doctor to find out what happened to my leg. My house was a mess and had to have out kids come over and help to clean it up. This year 2025 I WILL be getting rid of all the stuff I don’t need.

I swapped over to using Ketamine as my choice for anesthesia for the same issues you have had . I am way more calm and easy to wake up now.
