I do remember these trains, rode on them as a kid in the early 90s there is an air of nostalgia about them. The only good thing Id say about them was that you could open the windows but they were so unsafe! you could easily jump out the doors when it was going along and many people did commit suicide. I like the trains we have now but the only thing I hate is that you cant open a window!. These videos will always spark off nostalgia and I do have fond memories of these old things
They were horrible trains and dangerous too, you could commit suicide from one when you could open the door from inside they later changed this as someone did this in front of my late dad he was very upset about it. I once got out before the train completely stopped and fell flat on my face because i lost my balance at the platform. It's better now. The trains before also had those horrible compartments I remember the girl that was murdered in Orpington in one of those oh how awful
Wow, you even got a thumper in there! Really enjoyed that bit of nostalgia, thanks for uploading :)
Do you remember the sound of the doors slamming as the guard made his way down the platform kicking all the open doors shut!
Connex's livery was vile!
Of course it was - it was a Frenchie who designed it 🤮🤮
Focus and thumpers, can't complain at that!
it would have been a passenger turning up as the train was departing and opening the door with the train moving.
i remember going to butlins in bognor regis on these trains and margate i miss these trains now.

I say bring back the EE507 motors, I don't like the new ones that sound like washing machines.
did anyone else spot the rare 4TC coach?
Yep😊👍🏾
This was two months before the Clapham Junction crash when three slam door trains collided on December 12, 1988.
No this was filmed in 1998 not 1988.
That was in 1988 ......this footage is from 1998!! - a decade separates them.
Miss the slam doors, you cant open a window for fresh air on the networkers.
ITS REALLY haunting
