UK pre-decimal coins are denominated as £.s.d (pounds, shillings, pence). Writing the denominations: Pence are "d" not "p", so it's 1d, 3d (threepence), 6d (sixpence). Shillings are 1/- (shilling), 2/- (florin), 5/- (crown). Half-Crowns (2 shillings and 6 pence) are 2/6, 2 and 6. I used to love using the pre-decimal money system, 20d = 1/-, 20/- =£1 🙂

I like the comments about the TPG personnel working as they do. Conspiracy theories abound but I have seen quite a few things over the years that suggest" Caveat emptor".

Distressed as in used...they don't have a memory 😮 I paid half of wholesale but it took a year of looking for the deal.
GIA certified and laser inscribed with the cert number.
Try that with a lab grown stone.
I'm looking at the Boy Scout Coin Collecting Merit Badge for my granddaughter who in a 'G' Boy Scout troop. One of the requirements is to (1) attend a coin show or (2) attend a coin club meeting or (3) tour a mint. I live about 50 miles from the Philadelphia Mint, I have never heard of a coin show in SE PA or heard of a coin club near me. I wonder if I walked in a decent coin shop with 7 girl Boy Scouts and parents, I wonder if the owner would take the time to talk to the girls. There is a decent shop in the town the troop meets. I hinted I would help, I would bring some of my collection to show them.

I have a question, I'm curious if I walk into a coin shop like like and have 10x 1 ounce silver rounds can I trade those in for a 10 ounce bar or is that frowned upon or not even possible? or would I have to give the 10 rounds and a little money or get money back ect?
Tbh the rounds hold a higher premium that the 10oz bar, so you should be able too get the bar plus abit of money your way 👍 as long as we’re talking about bullion round for a bullion bar and no rarity value in either 👍
@@mrpound5949 thank you for response and yea I have 5x aztec calander 1 ounce silver rounds and 5x buffalo head 1 ounce silver rounds I picked up from the golden state mint website, over time, I couldn't afford to buy a 10 ounce bar just at once, but over past few months I have 10 saved up but I'm thinking having a 10 ounce bar is better? still new to this not exactly sure

I just love seeing Saint Gaudens Gold Double Eagles anytime I see them in coin guy's shop. I only have one Saint Gaudens Gold Double Eagle. It's from 1915 ( Philadelphia Mint ). I also enjoy seeing those toned Morgan silver dollars. I just recently picked up a Morgan that's graded. MS64 1884 - O and as a bonus it has such spectacular rainbow toning on it. with yellow , green maybe some blue.

Speg. Are we assuming that all of the slabbed Morgans' with toning got the toning before they were slabbed?? I always thought that being slabbed in a holder meant that the air was sealed out to prevent corrosive damage from the atmosphere.
They’re not air-right and neither are air-tight capsules. :)
@@Spegtacular Thanks, I wondered about that. I do not collect slabbed coins, but a lot of my friends do and some think that slabbing seals off the air to prevent any further damage to the coins.
Found this article on PCGS’s website:
The problem is, no coin holder yet devised is absolutely airtight. Even coins that have been encapsulated in sonically sealed, tamper-resistant holders by the major grading services are not 100 percent impervious. These holders are somewhat airtight, and the plastic of which they're made is chemically inert -- but they're not completely airtight, and air does come in contact with the coins inside, though admittedly at a greatly inhibited rate.
*this is why I made a video a few months back discussing the impact to coins that were near to a smoker. People who smoke are artificially toning coins and therefor adding damage to the coin.

I understand people have budgets and lab grown diamonds are great but not for me to give to my wife. Why? I don;t care if they can pass as a "real" diamond. I know that they are not REAL diamonds and as long as I know that's good enough for me.
Diamonds, real or otherwise aren't nearly as rare or valuable as they'd like you to think.

Seems like it would be easy to counterfeit the Byzantine coins. I like them, but I am leery concerning authenticity.

not a premeium on the st its a numimatic value the gold value plus there age not really a premeium , st guadens always like that ,if there a premeiun its cuz of the date and grade not the fact its a st au pretty low grade i love them ,but dealer tellme somany ms with ms 63 being common most of those au get melted ,its sad

Love the Coin Guy. I wish dealers would not put stickers on the holder. If you must put a sticker on it, but it in a sleeve. I put all of my slabbed coins in sleeves anyway so the holders don't get scratched.
I had a work accident back in 94 and lost mine but I still eat Steak you just have to buy better Beef. Give up Steak give me Death LOL 😂
If a grader is walking a show and buying coin's and sending them to Another Company then they work for. Wouldn't This be Today's Vest pocket dealers? If they were sending them to the Company they work for then that's totally different a conflict of interest. I see it like buying a graded coin and cracking it out of the case because you paid the price the person was asking.

It’s a old black ngc holder with peace dollar and I would be willing to bet he didn’t pay no where near what he should seller probably didn’t realize what they had and I am sure coin guy didn’t say a word otherwise and if that’s the case shame on him because they go in the thousands like over 5000
A lot of sweet Morgan's! Have to keep armed out here too. Never know when things will happen. A girl got shot at our mall in toledo a few weeks ago. We go to those movies. At that mall. Not supposed to be a bad area either. Just never know.
They can afford 3 month vacations because the government mandates it.
