Beautiful looking fish! At some point i'd love to have a bigger tank with fish like this.
Beautiful tank. Your fish are beautiful and well taken care of.
Thank you!
Nice description I bought a pair of Triggerfish yesterday still bagged up at the store and they came out just a little yesterday to eat and basically today one day later they're swimming around quite a bit more especially at feeding time. Yes you're right sugars are usually shy for a while but they can differ so I will assume that my knob come out more and more since I'm already seeing them in front of me beautiful fish, get a female they follow each other around it's cool to watch
I was thinking about that, you got lucky with your not being to shy. Nice!
Great video!! Thanks.
i remember seeing one at my lfs a while back. such a character
Great fish to keep once they acclimate!
I have one male and I love the guy with a porcupine puffer in a 50 gal lagoon in 6 months I move and want a 150 gal custom lagoon long !!! Thx for the info and nice aquarium
I love blue jaw triggers, not all blue jaw triggers hide a lot, when I put mine into my 400 gallon wall tank he hid for 1 hour and than just came out and swam with my other fish. Mine destroys frozen shrimp. Mine is still kind of shy but in the beginning he didn’t hide but her only swam on one side of the tank
Ya they are a nice looking fish
Thanks for the video. I just bought 1 a week ago and only have seen him once a day a dinner time. I thought there was something wrong.
Believe me there isn't, that just how these fish are. They are extremely shy for the first month.
Mine took about 3 months!!
your tank is so beautiful
Thanks!
I have mine in a 65 gallon tank and he does fine. He comes out all the time especially to eat but he is skittish and hides a lot if someone gets right up close to the tank.
Merci pour ta vidéo !!! 👍👍👍
Stunner
I picked up one Friday for $ 40 great looking fish and size
Great deal you got!
Me just brought this trigger. Hiding for 2 days. Only today started see him swim out once awhile when nobody nearby the tank. Hope he can get used to me around.
Trust me they will hide for a long while from you and they won't eat. Mine hid for at least two weeks and didn't eat either. But eventually they start coming out to eat, it just takes time, they are very shy when you first buy them as I mentioned in the video.
Hi Eagle Aquatics great video. I was wondering if I could put this in my 225 gallon with an aggressive dominant large sohal tang or would it be too risky.
Honestly I would try it. But try to get a bigger one. Your tank should be big enough.
what dark clownfish is that its so big i love the color
Do triggers bite your hands when you're adjusting things in the tank? I'm tired of fish (*coughclownfishcough*) nipping at me all the time.
Hi, I have a question about mine. she was doing fine for months and then we did a water change...which wasn't abnormal then added a puffer to the tank. she's been hiding in a "cave" and not coming out to eat...its been over a week. she was hiding a little before the puffer. I was finally able to feed her with the tongs some shrimp. but still won't come out. any suggestions? could her teeth be overgrown from not enough shells to file them down?
Its possible though I doubt it. He just isnt used to the puffer yet. I would try putting a sheet of nori seaweed in the tank, he should come out to eat it.
I really like the blue trigger, and i’m thinking of getting a pair (male and female) once i get my tank up and running. Do you think they would be ok in a 150 gallon tank?
Oh yah for sure, you shouldnt have a problem. Thats a good size tank for two of them.
Wanted one for my new build but can’t have him now since he needs a huge tank
Not really, I would say a 120 or larger suites them well. They dont get very big.
I wanted a clown Triggerfish as a pet cuz it was my favorite but I could settle for a blue chin. I'd rather deal with a lot smaller triggerfish. Can you put a male and female together? I try to give them a good hiding spot to see if they will breed. Or make a hybrid with a male blue chin 9.5" and a female of the next size up I think the Picasso Trigger at 11". Blue Chin/Picasso hybrid offspring would be cool.
That would be but I dont think they are known to be easy to bread, you can add a female blue jaw trigger with the male and they will get along though.
What protein skimmer do u recommend for a 30 gallon nano reef tank
The best one you could buy for a small tank is the eshopps internal protein skimmer, but if you want a cheaper still decent one i would go with the aquatic life mini skimmer
I just got a trigger all he does he’s stuck on the over flow area ... should I be worried ?
They love to hide at first, mine hid for a month before he got comfortable. Give him some time.
Hey there! How is he doing and how big is he now? Do you think he will eventually outgrow the 6ft 125?
I still have him and he is doing great! They are very slow growing fish in my experience and I really dont see mine outgrowing my 125 gallon tank.
I've had 3 in last year and all past the same way. Same symptoms. First 2 were good for a couple of weeks then started hiding. No other symptoms. Then gone. The last one was from a different co. Great fish. Then stared hiding but would come out. Lasted about 5 days. Tried to take him out a few times and as so he would take off. Then gone after 2 months. Wanted one for long time. Still want one but, it would have to be plastic. Don't know what's going on.
They are tough fish
Before you buy another have the fish store feed him so you can see that he eats, if he dont eat dont buy it.
@@EagleAquatics they acted ok. Eating normal. Then they said later. Other fish Are ok. I made sure water parameters were in spec. Did water change. Almost gun shy to buy anything else. Thanks for your response.
One day il get one, need a bigger tank first
For sure man!
Got one! Nice fish. Which has the reddish tail and which has the yellow tail - which is male, which is female?
The males have the yellow outline tail, the females have the reddish tails.
What is the typical size they come in when your first buying them?
Usually around 3-4 inches or so, when we got them in at the shop.
Reef sage because they live in open ocean in sargassum. They don’t live around corals or inverts. Not part of their normal diet.
Ahhh thank you for the info!!
Will they pick on my sand sifting stars and brittle stars
I doubt it honestly. I would trust one with starfish.
What puffer do you have in there?
That's a juvenile porcupine pufferfish.
Could he be one of the first fish in your reef tank?
Yah for sure, he was in mine.
Do you make your own frozen food?
I dont I buy it.
Is that a porky pine puffer? How reef safe is your puffer?
That puffer never bothered or ate any coral. He will eat shrimp and and hermit crabs though.
I bought one. Beautiful. Hide all the time. Then died. Only had him about a week. I want another.
Yah they can be tough.
Do they bite?
Nope
I just bought one of these, male. Is it true they can change their sex?
I dont think these triggers can change sex. That is more with clownfish and anthias.
Fast forward 2023 they cost 100-150 easy
