SID CAESAR: Le Grande Amour (YOUR SHOW OF SHOWS - VERY rare sketch)
Вставка

- Sid Caesar, Imogene Coca and Carl Reiner in a terrific spoof of French movies that hasn't been accessible to the public for more than 20 years. The foreign language double talk makes the sketch funny enough on its own, but it's also packed with clever gags, especially the sight gag in the bakery scene which I won't spoil here!
NOTE: No date is available for this sketch, which has only been released on very rare out of print VHS/Betamax tapes. My undying gratitude to KJH, the uber-fan of Sid Caesar in Pennsylvania who found these tapes, had them transferred digitally, and shared them with me so that I could make them available on UA-cam.

Sid Caesar was and is the BEST!!!
Always funny & original Cid, Imogene and Carl!! Laughter chases discomfort away!!
I can’t even begin to imagine what the wedding night was like!
Sid is so cute in this sketch, I can barely stand it! He was an awesome performer -- so young still at this point in his career, but he channeled a lot of "old soul" emotions. . . His concern for I imogene is very real here, and it makes me both laugh and cry. Bravo!
These three were brilliant! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for posting these!
Best sitcom ever …..
"Jacques ze octopus!" Classic.
Smeele, I nearly choked laughing.
Small smeele? 😀 My favorite is still "You'll get your hair in your drink." --kjh

is this a real French? i cant understand but for me its not real French
did he really speak french?
i always loved him since i was very young
+Marilyn Willett I'd say at least 60% of his French was authentic. I actually understood a lot of it, considering I did piss-poor in French back at university.
Sid Caesar could not speak French but knew enough words to fake speaking the language. He could also do German, Italian, Spanish, and Japanese. He was an absolute master at speaking double-talk in what could pass as a fluency in a foreign language. The only languages he actually could speak was English and some Yiddish.
@@Bigbadwhitecracker You really must have done piss-poor in French ! 👌😎.
only 8,000 plus views -- on of the funniest episodes of all time -- perhaps the fans are watching it elsewhere?
One of my favorites too (the sight gag with the flour kills), and one of Sid's most impressive double-talk sketches. Faux French for over 10 minutes? Incredible. I'm surprised it doesn't have more views as well. --kjh
