THE OLD DELTA 757 CABIN: Did You Know it Still Existed?

Delta Air Lines garnered a lot of attention during its quest to retrofit almost its entire narrowbody fleet, ranging from Airbus A320s to Boeing 757s. Today, all of Delta's narrowbody fleet aside from a handful of 737-800s and 757-200s feature this updated cabin. That's also excluding select secondhand 737-900ERs and all 717s that don't have any inflight entertainment screens.
The focus of this video is an older seat/cabin found on a few 757-200 and 737-800 aircraft. This was a proper throwback to the last time I flew this cabin in 2011. By pure chance, the 757 I flew from ATL-TPA had this cabin and I thought it would be cool to make a video on it especially given how not many people might know about it.

Love seeing the old NWA planes still hanging on. Thank you. Really miss Northwest.
I flew this exact aircraft from atl to lax in 1998. I had just graduated from college and now I'm a few years from retiring. That's amazing
They are starting to retrofit these 757s and 737-800s with the same Panasonic screens as other 757s and 737s. But tray tables and seats will remain the same (similar logic to United’s 737-900ER NEXT if you have seen pictures of that)
United’s started retrofitting the -900s? I’m aware that they’ve started doing that with the -800s but I haven’t found any pictures of that in the -900s.
@@K4EdiamondThey did. The only change in Economy is the addition of new screens, and addition of USB ports (which are all located above the traytable), so the only thing that changed is the area above the traytable
@@Blank00 oh ok. Are there any pictures?
@@K4EdiamondI can’t paste URLs in UA-cam comments since UA-cam likes to take down comments with URLs, but there are pictures somewhere on Reddit and Airliners net
@@Blank00 oh ok, thanks.
Great flight on Delta 757-200 ATL-TPA. This cabin sure does bring back memories. Great trip report.
Awesome video man!!! The 757 is my favorite airplane!
I flew this exact aircraft from SEA-KOA back in August 2021, it’s pretty cool you are flying on it.
Nice video. I thought this interior still existed on some Delta 757s. I probably flew the interior as well when I took a 757 from Salt Lake to LAX in 2014 (N757AT, unfortunately scrapped as of today) but I don’t remember much about that trip.
Thanks for sharing, cool ride!
Great video - thanks for posting. Night flight on a 757 must have been fun. To bad you missed out on the flight deck visit.
Thanks a lot! 757 flying is always fun. Definitely a shame to miss out on the flight deck.
LOL, I have those old PTV’s on my airplane seats back at home 💀. Great video
When I flew from Kansas City to Atlanta in August, I was on a Delta 757-200. The cabins looked just like this. However, when I flew on the A-319 from Atlanta to Key West, it had the newer and updated interior.
Had this occur on an ATL MCO hop. Shocked to see the screens resemble the old 737-700 fleet from key west flying.
Tampa is my hometown airport cool to see you flying into it.
It's more common than you think, just an example: Currently All Delta flights from/to Guatemala to Los Angeles and Atlanta (LAX-GUA) (ATL-GUA) are served with these 757s, 3-5 times a week every destination.
The 75H configuration (this one) is leftover from previous refits and this is the ETOPS variant of the DL 752. These will all be converted into the newe4st 75D configuration like the one you flew (552NW) previously.
Only the IFE will change, but tray tables and seats will be the same. It’s similar to United NEXT on 737-900ERs
Nice video
I just flew on one of those aforementioned 737-800s from SEA-PHX last week, and was caught off guard by how outdated it was, compared to the usual updated Delta cabins I’m used to. Took me a while to even realize where the headphone jack was lmao
Amazing
Cool!
Besides the shape and size of the display, actually all of delta’s Boeing 757 use the same Panasonic eX system. The plane you took is the old eX1 that was designed for narrow body planes while the new 757 features eX3. Software is almost the same. The new eX3 display is slimmer IPS screen, brighter, larger, and supporting multi touch, and with 1080P resolution. eX1 maintained 720P resolution.
man I would love to fly on these all the time for the better seats!
flew this exact plane from LAX-JFK back in June, 2022
One other. Thing about thenwipes , there’s a newminvention l,it’s call Soap and Water and it’s in every lav.
Yeah I take this flight at least twice a month. Living in Tampa I go to Atlanta for business and 9/10 it's on the 757-200
They still fly the McDonnell Douglas planes into smaller airports
Up and away in no time!
That’s what the 757 is known for!
The old seats are likely from a 737-800 or 767-300 with a domestic configuration (which also had regular first class recliners vs lie flat seats) because the ex-NWA 757's didn't get in seat IFE until the cabin rehabs starting in 2014. But ill take this over a 737-900er which those main cabin seats are soooo uncomfortable, my lower back hates me after a flight on one of those planes.
Their 737-900 seats are the same as what you would find on all of their Airbuses (except A350)
thats not true. i would fly on the a321 or 738, i noticed the seat had more padding and the back of the seat cushion was not hunched up like most of them are on the 739. I only have lower back issues after flying on a 739.@@Blank00
Biscoff cookies dip into Ginger Ale. Best combo ever.
Whoa that’s a hot take 😂
The 757 is the best aircraft
OK who wins DL, AA, or UA?
This cabin is not actually that old
The wipes are unnecessary, the tray ,and seats are all fully sanitized before custo, ers arrive and seatbacks .People use these wipes in the most unsanitary way and rather disposing them properly ,they put the nasty thing in the seatbaxk pocket or throw it on the floor ..They come on and wipe down everything ,for what ever reason l including the seatbelt , yet they sat out in the gate area on seats that are rarely ever cleaned ,held on to handraips all ofer the airport, that thousands have touched ,also the seats at the coffee shop , the restaurants , etc etc ,but for some ridiculous reason people think the only place that is loaded with germs are airplanes ,it’s outragious .If a person wants wipes they should bring their own !
I half expected to see men wearing suits and sporting fedoras. And women in dresses. And everybody smoking.
You are too young to remember when airplanes had plastic tubes that had earphones on the end, and the sound literally piped through the tubes.
Wow I also flew to TPA with that cabin, of course coming from MSP back in 2016. It’s cool to see some still floating around out there.
