Stuart Hays He along with Wonder Woman, Supes, and Flash were the stand outs in this movie. Personally looking forward to the new Aquaman film at the end of this year.

Agree. He was the best! Had the best line in JL. After he unintentionally confesses vulnerable feelings, he threatens Flash with, "Say a word about this and you'll meet every piranha I know." Best line of the movie, especially since they all become pals at the end. I hope Aquaman 2 allows us to see more of Authur Curry with his Dad. The scene in the bar where the bikers ask for a selfie with him was great. Showed his personality and heart, especially when he let down his guard and got crazy with them. Momoa rocked it. It's too bad there aren't any video clips of that scene on the internet.
For those that are saying this scene doesnt make sense and its a plot hole in DCEU (after watching aquaman 2018), this isnt Atlantis, it might be an isolated placed where atlanteans kept the mother box, just as the amazons, they didnt keep the mother box in their principal village. So in this scene Aquaman still has never been to Atlantis.
Besides, this is the first time Arthur meets Mera, thats why she says "At last the firstborn of beloved Queen Atlanna..."
And he asks her if she was alright just as he would ask any other random person, specially because he saw her fighting Steppenwolf.
Then in Aquaman movie they meet again because she wants him to come with her to Atlantis and fight Orm and become the new king.
Dont expect writers explain every single detail in the movies, we have to use our brain and think with logic and imagination.
BTW AQUAMAN MOVIE IS AWESOME!

Sorry for TL;DR, but had a feeling there'd be comments about this. I think it's more a lack of foresight or the directors (Snyder or Whedon, whichever directed this particular scene) not knowing what Wan (or any underwater character, etc.) was planning to do with Atlantean speech before the studio even started working on the film. Hell, was an Aquaman movie even on the calendar before JL was being made? It's not like they have this whole elaborate calendar of plans like what we're spoiled with having regarding the Marvel movies akin to a Feige overlord.
Anyway, I've now seen Aquaman's movie opening night (twice in that weekend) and it's AMAZING. Currently grossed more $$$ than any other DCEU film and has the highest review rating as of my comment's posting. Despite how bad it might be, I still enjoy the JL movie for how simple/basic/fun its story is and its mood (it's like I'm watching 1 of the animated JL films, especially with how easily the team comes together and how much the CGI looks like cartoon action), the nostalgia fanservice it evokes and all the characters that make appearances be they core team members and various supporting characters. Personal preference, JL would probably be my 2nd fav DCEU movie to watch over and over after Aquaman for different reasons.
Having seen and enjoyed Aquaman, I thought back to this scene and everything has me looking at Mera in a completely different light. Not just because she's super beautiful or the true hero of Aquaman's movie (akin to how Samwise is the LotR trilogy true hero, ha). More than just the mother box guardian. I see the whole "stupid air bubbles" thing as a way for Mera to extend an accommodating "olive branch" to Arthur whom she assumes is more adjusted to speaking in air rather than in water. Plus, it puts all her skills on display: hydrokinesis, budding diplomacy and her knowledge of his parentage.
Maybe my reinterpretation of this scene covers up WB/DC's lack of foresight and other problems with it. But oh well, I can make it work for myself.
I had a much better wording for all this in my mind but when home at laptop, it's all word vomit.

The two societies were at War, the only reason they joined forces was to stop a common enemy who could destroy the world. They're not going to trust each other or be able to elect leaders to protect them. The more people who know where the boxes are, the more people at risk, and it also places the boxes at a higher risk since they rely on more people to hide the truth and to not have any bad intentions regarding the boxes

Yeah the accent just makes it harder to fit the Snyder cut fit into canon, I’m trying to fit it into canon for myself. After watching the Snyder cut I refuse to ever watch the other Justice League again.
The only thing I prefer in the Joss Whedon version is the song choice that plays when Arthur is about to go for a swim.

The reason people side with him is because she was physically abusive, then lied and framed him for sexual and physical abuse claims. All of her claims have no evidence that matches her testimony, and on top of that there's mountains evidence to counter her claims (witnesses, photos, no medical reports, no voice recordings, no videos). People support him because they have brains and can see what happened.

Yeah I guess this represents the original ideas that Zack had which were then changed for the theatrical release and then the Aquaman movie. Though Wan tried to follow Snyder's vision as best he could there's only so far he can go when some things are so radically different.

This version of Aquaman was very close to Aquaman from Justice League the Animated Series. More of the underwater sequence in the solo Aquaman film is what I am excited to seeing. Also Nicole Kidman's Atlanta and Temura Morrison as Arthur Curry's dad with Vulko, Orm and the rest of the supporting cast waiting to see in the Aquaman film.

Look at how disgusting and drab the colors are here compared to the Aquaman movie. Arthur hadn't even yet been to Atlantis, so he doesn't yet have the gold trident. That's why he was basically no threat to Steppenwolf. Also, why the fuck would a powerful, advanced civilization like the Atlanteans only have a few guys guarding the Mother Box? They were smart at least to not actually keep it in Atlantis.
Here, Mera tells her parents died in a war, but in the Aquaman movie, her father is still alive. Another plot hole is she is the princess of Xebel, but she is guarding the mother box at the stronghold of Atlantis.
Oof that’s the only error I noticed in the Snyder cut. That and the fact that she has a British accent.

In this Scene Arthur didn't know who Mera was because Arthur was exiled when he was young to never go back to Atlantis. In the Aquaman movie, Mera looked for him cause she knew he can fight and he is worthy of being a king.

But wb cut it out cause it was too violent.

I like how (in this version) the horns on Steppenwolf's helmets are very clearly a part of a removable helmet, but in this scene Aquaman is being swing around on them without even a budge. (yes, I know The Snyder Cut established them as a part of his skull, but these are two very different designs)

@@phatlewt2932 There are 2 scenes that I can recall in the movie where Mera manipulated the water in order to create some sort of air bubble. The first one was when she saved Aquaman and his dad. She used hydrokinesis to get rid of the water surrounding them. The other one is when they were in Atlantis and they secretly met with Vulko on the ocean floor. You guys are both wrong. She's English in ZSJL, she's American in Aquaman, and in this Justice League 2017 she's doing a dubbed/ADR'd bad half American, half British accent while trying to fit the new dialogue written by Joss Wheddon over what was previously filmed.

Nobody's going to comment how silly Steppenwolf was at 1:53 when he jumpscared with that, "BAAAHH!!!" That was the funniest thing ever. Steppenwolf went from this serious-toned character giving somewhat meaningful dialogue to a joke trying to scare people.
