Couldn't agree more with you, I'm actually 14 now and I was lucky enough to be in a family that was very handy with tools, motorcycles, cars etc. Going to school right now for Welding and have built my first hardtail frame for my 1982 ironhead sportster.
This thing is a lot like my 1982 Honda CM250 that I recently got as my first bike! Although this one seems much more professionally done haha, I still love what the previous owners did with it
The little Rebels are a lot like the old scramblers. I'm an old fart and remember all those fun things. Those were the good old days. Nostalgia is very cool !!! Thanks so much, Lance at BCB
Im gonna be honest here, I was nervous about undertaking my bobber project. Never done this before. When I got the fender I was nervous. Got the light kit, I was super nervous... Got the exhaust, super nervous. With every step, I thought, surely I will mess this one up. NOPE! The instructions and support from Lance is AMAZING. I never had to call him once.... And the bike looks and sounds AMAZING!
This bike takes me back to to a Honda 305 Scrambler that I chopped for a kid who used to live down the street from me. I machined up a set of 6" overstock fork tubes for it. I used a pre-unit Triumph rear fender. I made up a cobra seat for it, as well. I used shorty mufflers on that lil bike. From what I gather, the guy still owns and rides that little machine.
We have so many options that it would be hard to say on a complete kit. You can look at our website and add the stuff to the carts. The total with shipping will be calculated for you. The Rebels make awesome little bobbers!! Thanks so much, Lance and Cheryl at BCB
Thanks Walt. You are very knowledgable about the forks. I've never done anything like that. It would look cool to do the extension. Thanks again, Lance
You're at the right age to start burning and turning metal. Make sure you get maximum penetration on all your welds and allow for suffiicient time for the welds to cool before you remove the frame from the jig. All the best of luck on your future projects. Ride safe.
If you are building a from-the-ground -up chop, then go with the later Sportster forks (which use 39 mm.fork tubes.). Those forks are thicker in diameter and a bit stronger than the 35 mm. forks that came on the ironhead Sportys. I'd also use Progressive fork springs. And for Pete's sake, run a front brake! I see a lot of chop and bobber guys who run brakeless front wheels. I'm glad that I can help in any way. Build safe and ride safe, Lance.
Hi Red, we only make the fenders in aluminum. With a little creativity you could probably make the tank and fender match. I really like the rat look !! Thanks, Lance at BCB
Hi and thanks for the nice comments. If you go to our home page and the list of kits to the right side you will see the large and small seats toward the bottom. Just click on them and you can see samples of seats. We can make up the seats either small or large. Thanks so much, Lance at BCB
Just about everyone says the bikes run fine with the stock jets. Ours run great too. If you run our pipes and change the stock air box then you may have to fatten the mixture some. Thanks, Lance at BCB
You got it, man. Give a little added attention to your engine mounts on your project frame. Even though you won't be building a big-inch stroker, try to beef up the engine mounts as much as possible (without making them look cobby). Rigid frames flex and they can be tough on engine castings (around motor mount bolt holes). Of course, older machines have problems with crankcase mounting bolt holes cracking due to metal fatigue.
Here's a bit of advice regarding your frame and fork geometry. I'd keep the rake stock. If you want to get truly "custom" then use a little downtube stretch. I'd stay within two or four inches overstock on the forks. To my thinking, six over forks are a bit radical (especially on a raked frame). Handling can get nuts after going longer than six inches overstock on the forks. Build safe and ride safe.
You get what you pay for. We make everything in house to the highest standards. Our reputation is flawless and we sell tons of cool stuff. Lance from BCB
Hi Lance. I've seen just about every configuration of screwed-up forks in my forty-plus years of chopper building. I remember when guys would use screw-in extensions (called "slugs"). Those things were outright dangerous no matter if you welded them in or not. Some fools are still marketing those damned things. Ed Roth once told me, "If the forks are longer than 6 inches over, then, take them off, put the stock forks back on, and go out and have some fun with the bike."
Hi, It woud be impossible to put a passenger on our rear fender. The fender goes up and down with the suspension. The ride would be terrible and the struts wouldn't hold up under the stress. Thanks so much, Lance at BCB
I noticed you said the fenders were made of heavy aluminum. Is it possible to have them made from steel? I was planning on applying a patina to the gas tank and fenders to make it look a little more ratty. Cheers Red
Ok I have a 2006 Tank Sports (make) Vision 250rs (model) looks just like a rebel same year and size. That's even how I order parts. Anyways, have u ever heard of this bike and would this kit fit?
Hey Lance, Quick question. Love the paint job, but not too sure how to find examples online. I'm not sure what you'd call it, or what to search for. Would love to finnish my tank the same way, but looking for more examples to show my paint guy. Thanks! Also, loving the Cafe racer build you have now!
I've been looking at buying a custom over the last couple of months. I love the look of the bobbers but I need a back seat for when the girlfriend wants to ride along. Do you know if it's possible to mount a little seat on the rear fender of these 250 rebels for riding two up? Thanks, loving all of your bikes...
Whats the oldest rebel you have bobbed? I have a 86 limited rebel that I just bought this kit for from you guys. I'm in Milwaukee and I've never seen another limited rebel, or have I've seen another rebel bobber. Hope I'll be the 1st! I'll make all those hog owners jealous!! I'll be glad to tell everyone that BCB hooked me up.
Hey blue collar nice job! Im building a nighthawk 250 i chopped into a bobber and im wondering how i can extend my foot controls farther out like this rebel has and are those stock on the rebel? Or is that a kit u sell
Hey. We all have to start somewhere. I was lucky when I was a kid of sixteen. I started building choppers with a 1950 FL Panhead (which I bought for $300.00). The damn thing ran. Back then, you didn't have to be Don Trump-wealthy to build a chopper.
+IK MK47 We do sell a fender kit for the Rebel 250, you can check it out on our website bluecollarbobbers.com/product/fender-kit-for-rebel-250#.Vx-V9EfUs8I. We also sell the fenders by themselves...here is the link. bluecollarbobbers.com/catalog/other-products
if not could you convert a 125cc rebel into a 450cc I'm new to bikes and thinking of getting a rebel and making it a bobber i just don't want to get bored of the 125cc when i get older
dig thru a catalog,do a little homework and build it your self for half the price.nothing blue collar about the prices.as far as the "paint" sand, leave in the elements a couple of day's and then shoot with $2.00 worth of clear coat.

Hi, The seat is the small one. It fits the rebels perfectly and is still very comfortable. Rebel bobbers rock!!!! Thanks, Lance at BCB
Damn, that's a beautiful bike. do you have the full built video?
The rebels are so much fun!! The whitewalls aren't available for them. I wish someone would make a set !! Thanks so much, Lance at BCB

Your kits are awesome! I have a set for my 650 vstar and it looks amazing! Super easy to put on, which was best part.
thats why i went with BCB, the ease is worth the money!
Yep. Build safe and the bike will be good to ya. Wearing a lid is the only way to ride, as well. Ride safe, Lance.

Hi, I really like the look of the round air cleaner too. I wish it were better quality and easier to install. Thanks so much , Lance at BCB
hey lance. is the firestone on the front a 3.50x 18 for sure. looking to get one but want to be shure of the size.
Riding is dangerous enough with normal forks. I can't imagine cruising along with a loose front end. Kinda scary!! Thanks again, Lance
I know you have a video on installing the rear fender brackets. I am still looking for it....
Why didn't you paint the front fender to match the rear. Beautiful work though.
Do you need to get shorter cables with the drag bars or can I run stock cables
Hi, It woud be impossible to put a passenger on our rear fender. The fender goes up and down with the suspension. The ride would be terrible and the struts wouldn't hold up under the stress. Thanks so much, Lance at BCB
Me podrías ayudar indicandome como obtener las partes para colocarle el mismo tipo de timon que tu le has puesto a tu Honda Rebel.
Y'all should do a V Star 250 bobber as well. The rear fender is a good Bobber-style fender to start with.
Yes,how much for everything
That metal vibration sound is the tang in the headlight.
Is that the large or small seat on that ? Looks great. It hides that front bracket that bolts the seat on
I noticed you said the fenders were made of heavy aluminum. Is it possible to have them made from steel? I was planning on applying a patina to the gas tank and fenders to make it look a little more ratty.

Good stuff here i hope to get rebel and fix mine like this but all black with white wall tires

Can’t find the rear brackets that hold the lights under the seat
Is it possible that you guys make a longer back fender that can mount license plate and the back lights
Hi, what a great offer. I think we had better think about that one for a while. It sounds too good to be true?? Thanks, Lance at BCB
Wish you guys had something for my cx650 Custom, but I'm enjoying making my own stuff as I go too

Our kit fits the 250 only. Sorry about that!.
Did you have to rejet the carburetor for those exhaust?
Hi, yes our rebel kits will fit your 125. Just send us a picture of your bike and we will verify it for sure. Thanks so much, Lance at BCB
Hey blue collar nice job! Im building a nighthawk 250 i chopped into a bobber and im wondering how i can extend my foot controls farther out like this rebel has and are those stock on the rebel? Or is that a kit u sell
Thanks so much , Lance at blue collar bobbers
nice looking bike, checked out the website, do you have picture of the available seats? thanks
great bike for a single guy...is there any possibilty of a removable passenger seat?
I have this kit on my 125. With the rear fender as it is, it won't take the weight of another person.
Hermosa...!
Do any of your kits fit the 450 Rebel?
I actually like tht round air cleaner, kinda retro look to it.
wonderful!
How much for the complete kit? I want pretty much a kit like this one. Thanks for the video.
How much is the kit an what comes in the kit
Hi, sorry but we don't make anything for the 450 rebels. Thanks, Lance from BCB
Man thats awesome! I will be calling soon.
Awesome bobber!

How much is that bike
Needs a kick start could even use a faux one just for looks

Wow so cool.

Could you put a 650cc in a rebel
if not could you convert a 125cc rebel into a 450cc I'm new to bikes and thinking of getting a rebel and making it a bobber i just don't want to get bored of the 125cc when i get older
+illfate x its 250cc and is just fine for highway speeds, they also make a 450cc version but i dont know if it has a different chasis.
Ginger _ from what ive seen the chassis on the 450 is a dramatic change in size and no rebel kits even relatively fit it
Nice!
Lance,
Do I have a deal for you! I'll buy a seat for my little rebel if you throw in a fender kit. But only because I like you.
Standing offer.
i love bobbers
Good
Didn't start it!
I want one
