This is a lie. Lance Armstrong did drugs and he won many Tour De France, and even though he got caught, has more money than all of us. But I guess being a winner is sitting in some dead ass job on jack shit money.
If memoey serves, this was one of the first arcade games I ever saw-- it was inside a bowling alley at the now-defunct navy base in Philadelphia, PA. To think I'd see it again twenty years later... Ah, the memories.
I remember when I was little, I first saw this game at an old Dairy Queen. I played it a few times. I could never get passed the Demons clowns though. The game mechanics and theme are very similar to Double Dragon, probably because they were developed by the same company.
Sorry to necropost, but people would have gone insane if DD3 was condensed into an arena fighter. DD is usually associated with side scrolling beat em ups
Awesome game! I used to play this at the arcade after school... I never had enough coins to make it until the end... I am getting this game somehow and finish it... I've been waiting 20+ years :]
The differences between this arcade version and snes one is that the snes version had added a background story and somewhat mediocre plot that the players could follow from stage to stage during short dialogue cut scenes with the bosses you defeat. The arcade is pretty straight forward, it just throws you right into the middle of the streets for Act 1 and it’s a non stop slug fest, which was hella awesome I remember as a kid. Who needed a story?? LOL.... When I got a little older and got my SNES and played the snes version it brought back memories however I noticed some of the enemies in the different acts never made it into the snes version. Also the 5th Act is sort of spliced with the 6th act from the arcade version, making the act much longer to get through and completely eliminating the final act’s map from the arcade version. The SNES vs mode was just horrible, this only ruined a good beat em up game. Music was also so much better on the console version.
Always wondered who that japanese girl on the video wall at 7:48 was. Also loved how G. Terror is clearly modeled after the Joker from the 1989 Batman movie.
The best playthrough ever and without a cheat. This video is for those crybabies saying that the game and the last boss was too hard. This dude was able to do it with the same amount of energy he began with and didn't have to continue or increase his life points with a cheat or extra quarters. It's all about crowd control and utilizing right moves at the right times as well as knowing the attack pattern of your opponents and using it to your advantage. Dude only took damage when he fought the final boss. Salute.
THANKS FOR SHOWING ME HOW IT'S DONE FOR US NOOBS IN THE PAST GLORIOUS ARCADE GAMES !!! CAN'T REMEMBER HOW MANY TIMES I TRIED TO BEAT THIS IN-HUMAN-DIFFICULT GAME !! I'VE NEVER SAW ANYTHING LIKE IT...BACK IN TIME I THOUGHT MARTHA SPLATTERHEAD WAS SO DIFFICULT TO BEAT THAT I GAVE UP MY CHANCES TO BEAT THE GAME USING 1 COIN...
I'm Russian and I love this game. Recently I passed her. And the sad thing is that there are only 6 levels. But the cool thing was at the end. When this girl popped, the boss's daughter. I thought she got scared and will run away. But she started to beat me. And I was forced to beat that girl. Uhhh
i remember me and my friend always using a wire in the slot coin to get free credits one time we got caught :( we never got allowed to enter on that arcade room after that.
I always went with Berserker because he looked Guile, but in retrospect, I should've gone with Blitz...the red guy, :-) Loved this game, though, one of my favorite brawlers. The original Double Dragon is a classic, but I like that this game had a slightly wider variety of moves...like you could do the double head smash, you could pick a guy up and swing them around. DD just has punch combos, kicks, elbows and grapples.
I loved old arcade games. There was no actual challenge, and unlike the pointlessly intrincate games at these days (made for obsessive geeks), they embodied a true sense of fun. This particular game was funnier because most of the bad guys are smaller and weaker, all the player has to do is to kick, punch and smash heads! :D
Sure enough if you want to beat this game in one shot you better get to the last boss without a scratch because she's so fast and strong that she makes all the other ones look like wimps. Excellent job as always.
It's funny how Beserker is 7 feet tall, and only 176 lbs.! That would make him be a human Q-tip with no muscle mass whatsoever. I do not know of any men 6 feet or smaller who weigh that little...
I also noticed that all enemies that would normally auto stab/break their way out of a close range grab seemingly allow you to effortlessly attack up close, yet when I play it (without cheats), I get countered all the time... shame on you dorks for misleading players into thinking they can 1cc this thing! Just call this what it is. A major tool assisted completion.
It was better than the console version in terms of playability, but the music on the SNES blew away the soundtrack for the arcade version. Compare it and you’ll see it’s apples and oranges.
Yeah I’m calling bullshit on this play through.. I’ve seen several hits that should have registered yet you take NO damage. I play this game all the time and have gotten pretty good at it but no freakin way can any human who isn’t a giant ass cheater play and beat this game in a single credit!!
i think i wouldn't like this game, bgm is unbearably repeative. And you used the speed type heh ? He's square shaped and runs as fast as the rollers. Not to mention that i wouldn't expect a speed type to have these kind of moves...
Just my opinion, but "The Combatribes" is the worst beat 'em up from 90's arcade era, especially in comparison with such masterpieces as Violent Storm, Mutation Nation, Denjin Makai, Undercover Cops and Vendetta. I loathe every aspect of this game: cheap art, cheap music, abridged levels and entire "on very low budget" feeling. "Crude buster" from Data East and from 1991 (not very much renowned) shares some common traits with "The Combatribes", but is much more amusing to zap through.
the kick noise is exactly the same as in DOUBLE DRAGON 1... the style of the game its like the shitty DOUBLE DRAGON 3..... and the boss in stage 5 makes some noise like 'the shadow' boss in DOUBLE DRAGON 2.... by the way, what a fucking asshole shitty game, has zero strategy, stay just pressing buttons like a moron to kill enemies, and for a normal human being its tottaly impossible to beat it whit one credit... need 100 credits or more..,,, i miss the double dragon 1 & 2 games... you use just one coin and has a great time with skills, strategies and beat the game with your own glory, not by pressing buttons like an idiot
One of my all time favorite beat em' ups. Playing this with 3 players was madness in the arcade.
These dudes definitely skipped leg day at the gym.
I always played as Bullova because of how fast he swung the guys around, felt more beastly :)
Winners don''t use drugs.
They sell them. lol!
This is a lie. Lance Armstrong did drugs and he won many Tour De France, and even though he got caught, has more money than all of us. But I guess being a winner is sitting in some dead ass job on jack shit money.
...in public.
Good people don't use marijuana
Jefferson B Sessions
They do..

I love this game, because you are the big guy and bigger than almost every enemy.
This game was nice.. play it all the time on my break at Food Lion. I wish they'd bring more like this back!
Stage 3 boss music is epic
dudebro 80s arcade games are the best
such a great game. This should have been DD3 not the crappy pioneer of the dlc content that we ended up getting.
Sorry to necropost, but people would have gone insane if DD3 was condensed into an arena fighter.
DD is usually associated with side scrolling beat em ups
...you know, looking at the ending scene now, with three burly men walking away from an unconscious woman on the floor... this hasn't aged well.
Awesome game! I used to play this at the arcade after school...
I never had enough coins to make it until the end...
I am getting this game somehow and finish it...
I've been waiting 20+ years :]
You can play the game online here :)

mtlhd777 Thanks!
It was a bit slow at first, but once I changed to full screen it was almost normal :D
Give us an update in 2021, did u do it
Music is cool and catchy, fits great to this kind of games!
I think this might be one of the grittiest classic fighters that ever was.

Cool classic arcade fighting game. Haven't seen it before till now. I like the move when the fighter in red smashes the two clown faces together.
A delightfully violent beat em up, made from the beat em up kings.
+stufaman The beat 'em up kings are and always will be, Capcom.
Calbenmike Not any more.
They f**ked it up.
questo me lo ricordo bene è passato tanto tempo da all'ora circa 22 anni fa

This character in this game is the original tough guy.
I like how the way the red guy walks upstairs as he looks like he’s rocking out on the air guitar lol
i miss the 80s and early 90s.it was all about bein a macho fuckin punk, and kickass street brawler in videogames and movies!
THANKS FOR SHOWING ME HOW IT'S DONE FOR US NOOBS IN THE PAST GLORIOUS ARCADE GAMES !!! CAN'T REMEMBER HOW MANY TIMES I TRIED TO BEAT THIS IN-HUMAN-DIFFICULT GAME !! Double Dragon 3 shouldv'e been like THIS!!!!
Does anyone know if there was a similar beat-em-up game where you could also throw motorcycles at your enemies?
The final boss' full name is Martha Splatterhead. Someone at Technos was a fan of The Accüsed, I see!
I'm Russian and I love this game. Recently I passed her. And the sad thing is that there are only 6 levels. But the cool thing was at the end. When this girl popped, the boss's daughter.
I thought she got scared and will run away. But she started to beat me. And I was forced to beat that girl. Uhhh
SPOILERS
Her name is Martha Splatterhead but she isn't the boss's daughter. She's his bodyguard and a cyborg like the Combatribes (the player characters).
i remember me and my friend always using a wire in the slot coin to get free credits one time we got caught :( we never got allowed to enter on that arcade room after that.
Well done, my classmate managed to lift up the desk and "robbed the bank"
Homie looks like he skipped leg day. Never skip leg day!
the lady boss in the last level. What is she?
shes a cyborg
The sound is the best!!!!!!
This was a fun as hell game
Absolutetly love this game😊
I always went with Berserker because he looked Guile, but in retrospect, I should've gone with Blitz...the red guy, :-) Loved this game, though, one of my favorite brawlers. That womans a super saiyan. Punched a hole in that dudes stomach just like Garlic Jr.
Sure enough if you want to beat this game in one shot you better get to the last boss without a scratch because she's so fast and strong that she makes all the other ones look like wimps. Excellent job as always.
Como me divertía reventando enemigos en este juego en las recreativas...
I wonder if Beserker served as a blueprint for Guile in Street Fighter II?
And that 16:27 boss as a blueprint for Brocken in World Heroes.
I saw this at about every arcade I've ever been to, but never played it. Geez, all 3 players are 6-foot-8 or taller, yet all under 200 pounds, lol.
No wonder the music in Mug Smashers was so good...
This awesome game is what Double Dragon 3 failed to be.
Double Dragon 3 oh, its like making another movie of one very famous.
The chad version of Double Dragon
I like how they're all a foot taller than I am AND have larger muscles, yet I weigh more.
play this game at the arcade back in the day + it was the shit
11:58 Looks like *Chief Wahoo* from Cleveland wants revenge!
16:27 Brocken? From _World Heroes?_
childhood memories..
15:43
He reminds me of Geese Howard in the suit
It's funny how Beserker is 7 feet tall, and only 176 lbs.! That would make him be a human Q-tip with no muscle mass whatsoever. I do not know of any men 6 feet or smaller who weigh that little...
Arcade version. All I knew was the SNES version. Of course the Arcade version music will sound better.
Que juegazo! La mejor parte cuando se dan coco contra coco XD 02:50 ah y el stage 3 claro! jeje
I also noticed that all enemies that would normally auto stab/break their way out of a close range grab seemingly allow you to effortlessly attack up close, yet when I play it (without cheats), I get countered all the time... shame on you dorks for misleading players into thinking they can 1cc this thing! I always thought that the second stage boss at Technos Land was Karnov.
Also this version was better than super nintendo version.
+JWiLLfoReaL Hope so! It's the arcade version
It was better than the console version in terms of playability, but the music on the SNES blew away the soundtrack for the arcade version. Compare it and you’ll see it’s apples and oranges.
Gui-, er, Berserker has rad hair.
I love this game
Game reminded you of Double Dragon. Guys even had same colors on.
+JWiLLfoReaL technos
River City Girls 2 brought me here, Berserkers got a son now
such a stress reliever game. Dude get hit at least once wtf lol
Awesome reference to the band The Accused..haha
Cyborgs ain't ladies!
Final boss is tough because shes cyborg from what I understand, not human.
you almost have to use the goons to soften the bosses up for the easy kill or else you get crushed and the chick is ridiculous btw you have skills
CYBORGS AIN'T LADIES!
this game was hard as fuck lol i still havent beaten it. bout to have a session with my boy soon
esse jogo é difícil
JUST LIKE DOUBLE DRAGON kinda
Bad ass playing, I see the snes version remove the unoriginal recap of all bosses and have fight the last boss in the beggining of the last stage.
Bad dudes, target renegade, Россия рулит
the main characters' weight and height r ridiculous.
Karnov as a boss
Look a bit like double dragoon (Yes i know made by technos)
This arcade fighter ain't that bad on the Super Nintendo. But ofcourse the arcade version is better.
The woman was the final boss. lol
?... Don´t think so, not a baby like you.
is arcade or mame?
16:25 - Brocken from World Heroes?
Exactly. I thought the same thing. Such a first blueprint for him, huh.
24:24 Cyborgs aint Ladies
Yeah I’m calling bullshit on this play through.. I’ve seen several hits that should have registered yet you take NO damage. I play this game all the time and have gotten pretty good at it but no freakin way can any human who isn’t a giant ass cheater play and beat this game in a single credit!!
Why wasnt this 3 players
j playa Thats because he didnt turn on 3 players in the dip switches.
i think i wouldn't like this game, bgm is unbearably repeative.
And you used the speed type heh ? He's square shaped and runs as fast as the rollers.
Not to mention that i wouldn't expect a speed type to have these kind of moves...
@janmansde3dede
It looks a bit too much like Double Dragon 3, if you ask me. And we all know what a black sheep that game was.
easy difficult

Double Dragon 3 The Rosetta Stone will change your mind.
Nah...

SNES version is way better. Arcade is cheap quarter muncher.
I couldn´t laugh enough when I see the final boss was a woman? it´s a joke right? what the hell the Staff of the game was thinking?-
