    It's awesome to have someone in your life who is as motivated about self-growth as you

      We're very lucky to be aligned on this together. That said, if your partner isn't as motivated, you can still motivate yourself to live by example and that will most likely motivate them. X

      Appreciate you being here at working on yourself at such a young age, Yarele. I wish I had your dedication at that age. So keep it up, don't be hard on yourself, be kind to others and by the time you're as old as me your wisdom will be through the roof!!

    Splitting chores with your partner effectively does come with good communication!! Those daily/weekly chores we found easy to discuss and split, and have a good system. My partner and I are still fine tuning our system for not-so-regular chores E.g. we have a temporary fix on the garage door but needs a proper fix, insurances, planning family holidays, planning and buying Xmas presents etc etc. Who does the thinking, budgeting, research and execution?
    Those chores are not regular, but in a shared lifetime they come up consistently!

    It's amazing how much I learn from these videos!
    The best line from this video was definitely: 'don't compare yourself to other people's today, compare yourself to your yesterday.' Damn! So good!

    so many helpful perspectives and insights in this one video, thank you so much! all those techniques and bits of wisdom weren't necessarily new to me, but because usually they are scattered through many videos i tend to forget them or sometimes even feel like my procrastinating self makes an effort not to remember them, so hearing it all again in one video in a reassuring way has really helped me start my day today :) thank you again!

    thank you! I feel like everything you both say is all I need to hear, I always compare myself with others and never even try to appreciate what all I have accomplished-
    "No one wins in comparison"
    Also when Jenn said you both are perfect definition of opposites attract LITREALLY SO TRUE. You both are like key to eachothers' lock (nobody else could fit in like you both do!)
    What a beautiful relationship

    • @HaveAGoodOne

      Thanks for the kind words! It's so hard not to compare but the first thing we can do is become aware of it and slowly catch ourselves when we do it, then slowly reduce it. An easy read on all this is 'The Four Agreements' great little book to help with changing that perspective. Thanks again!

    i def compare myself to my other friends who work hard. I beat myself up about it buuut I also feel like I get motivated from it LOL I need to find a better medium!!

    • @HaveAGoodOne
      @HaveAGoodOne  2 роки тому +1

      I think lot of people do this, Sam. There's nothing wrong with that, but the aim is to get into a mindset where you want your peers to all succeed too. For them all to do well and be happy. Most of us compare and hope others fail so they look better, that's not healthy. Love and support will always win.

    Well done Ben in not playing the comparison game! As as you said, no one wins in the comparison game! Inspirations yes, comparison no! To the question how you split the chores, absolutely, it's a matter of communication! I said this before, but I love this series Ben, very inspired to do it, and the questions you are choosing are so relevant! You and Jen really can change the world! Much love from U.K! xx

    0:41 Do you ever find yourself comparing how much you can get done to others?
    4:56 How to manage doing so many tasks in one day without getting overwhelmed?
    9:13 How do you and Jenn split tasks in the household to be effective?
    10:29 What are your thoughts on 'hustle culture'? Do you think it can get toxic?
    12:49 How do you find a balance between working hard for the future vs enjoying now?

    Amazing. Thank you guys! If ever you can answer this…I’m wondering how to keep composure and a bright positive spirit so that people around me can feel good. I believe the job I’ve sucked up for so many years got me stuck in a weird mindset that I’m carrying over to the new job. now that I’m doing something else I feel like I can’t get out of the negative self talk, like I don’t realize I’m allowed to be happy now. I guess what I’m asking is.. are there any tricks to coming off happy and positive even when your head is speaking so negatively ?

    • @HaveAGoodOne
      @HaveAGoodOne  2 роки тому +1

      Thanks for being so open, Amanda. I know it's so much easier said then done but the first thing would to try and catch yourself before you say something and ask yourself 'is what i'm about to say going to make people feel better or worse?' It's the same with what you do in your own time, what you think about yourself, 'is this time serving me? Is this thought making me happier or more sad?' Once we start asking those questions and catching ourselves we can slowly choose a more positive thought/anecdote etc. It takes time but it's worked really well for me. It's all about trying to look at what's good in the world, not what's wrong. Good luck!

      @@HaveAGoodOne I really appreciate that. I just have to stop and think. Something I don’t do before I speak or act! I’m very very easy to read.

    this episode was so entertaining for me. i have BPD and this was like watching my 2 dominant personalities interact in third-person. at the end of the day, despite being polar opposites- they're both doing what they know to do best. eventually, a balance of jenn's foresight & ben's presentness would be ideal, instead of having to choose one way over the other-- there is no ultimatum, or at least there doesn't have to be.
