this is a pretty old vid. but if anyone is interested I used 2 bars across and then cut out some old but really solid truck mud flaps,[the hard plastic type] and riveted it on. It doesn't pop or squeak and holds up really well. and doesn't snag up on whatever you are wearing at the worst possible time like expanded metal can.
Good job. I kinda knew at the beginning that your platform was going to be a little small. Thats an easy fix tho. I would strongly say tho that u should put some cable ties from your seat rails to the outside of your base for support. Im a welder and that looks like it could use it. Don't hurt to add more safety. Otherwise good job
I been welding for years. Have made a lot of stands. You'll find that your seat has to flip up if you want to stand comfortably. Not much room to move if you stand.
You dont have the money to N0T buy a good tree stand! One hour of lost time from work after getting injured attempting to utilize home made junk will more than pay for one !
You da man!!! nice shop It's awesome that a guys still work with their hands and have skills like welding! Have fun stay safe!
your a beast..great job..u saved some money..i just bought the cheapest lock on I could find..100 $$$...awesome job
Very well done video, congrats. Nice stand, you did a very nice job.
weld hinges on the seat. you'll have more platform when u stand up and fold seat up and lean up against tree.
Good job. I would widen the extended piece out at a 45. I need a large floor to stand even though like you I shoot sitting
Very nice, can you make that in a 10' tripod stand?

Pretty awesome. Wish I had metal just laying around like that!
nicholasgraham89 haha that's what I was thinking.. I got some stock. But I always gotta pick something up
you dont want a plywood covered base. the reason they are always slotted is to help prevent becoming a slippery surface, with snow or rain buil-up.
I used what I had plywood works just fine.
Bolted connection from the ladder to the stand ?

That was a great idea
its a very nice stand, however, I would make the plat form a little longer in the front and wider on the sides. Great job.
If you plan on ever standing up to stretch your legs or whatever, your next stand needs to have a floorboard twice that size.
Is there a new video of the updated version of your stand?
You need a $1000 compound bows, lol
How many looked away when he strikes?? LOL
very nice!!
Thank you!
About how much does it weight?

1x1
🙋 Would like to place an order...
You got it cousin
You building a russian tank?
He’s gonna need it to haul that stand. And a crane to lift it into the tree. And an air mattress below him when he slips off that tiny platform
