  • Back in the beginning of March me and Pratyay visited Hanuman Akhara in Varanasi and he explained me his vision on how to swing a gada/mace. This technique is not the only technique that is right or possible with a gada or mace, but it is the technique that is taught in the traditional akharas in Varanasi. i hope you enjoy the video!

      Can I ask what that gesture means? To touch the Gada, then your forehead, and then the Gada again. It's paying respect to Sri Hanuman?

      @@giovannigavassino1047 It's to express respect towards Gada (in this scene).
      This action is called PRANAAM.
      If you do the same action with your parents (to touch their feet and then your forehead) it means you did PRANAAM to your Parents in their respect.
      I hope you understood.
      Sorry for English mistakes.

      Yeah, check the other videos. There's a vid on how to make one. I just made my first one this week using a shovel handle (cut down to size), a large pickle jar and some concrete. Concrete cost $5 for the bag (i can probably make 3 more of different sizes), but the shovel handles are $8 new, so i have to look for other options for that... I'm a broke ass, but where there's a will there's a way!
      ... It takes a while to eat all those pickles tho... 😂

    sir, this one gada & hanuman gada are the same ? same swings or different swings ?

    • @TheFlowingDutchman
      @TheFlowingDutchman  2 роки тому +1

      It's slightly different as this one is made from stone and bamboo, which results in more weight at the end. In the hanuman gada the handle is heavier compared to the top, which changes the weight distribution. More possibilities with the hanuman gada due to that. However, most of the exercises will be the same.
