Hello my friends! Here is my submission for the challenge with RD Custom Diecast. I already had a look at Rodney's Truck and dang I can't compete with NOS and a blower! Make sure you go have a look and say Hi for me! Hope your weekend is going swell. I've upgraded the coat counter a bit, its a work in progress though (comments). Go check out Rodney's Video here - ua-cam.com/video/ilAgeF10WG8/v-deo.html
All of a sudden my early teens came rushing back to me all that was missing was some Bon Jovi or Skid Row(18 and life) playing in the background... 😆 Awesome build Austin !
LOL "mulletizing" - that's exactly what that rear window fairing does. I think I remember them being called "razorbacks" also. I live in the Southeast of US so these trucks were everywhere you looked when I was a kid, set up very similarly to this 🤘🏻
I think it's almost like a dream to own a miniature version of a car you own that means a lot to you. I have a '71 AMC Javelin, and it's full restored and going into the body shop for paint and final bodywork in about a week. I found a Johnny Thunder diecast that is the exact car, a 71 Javelin in the same colors mine is gonna be, high gloss black with a white T-stripe on the hood. It just makes me happy to think of a day I can sit at my desk, look at that car, then walk out the front door and get in the real deal and go for a drive.
Amazing job love that candy paint. When I get home I will link back to your video. Awesome challenge thank you for doing this with me I really appreciate it.
My God is miss the late 80s and all of the 90s gas was cheap, the vehicles were sweet, and the music was the soundtrack to my destruction. Great build bro.
My 1st car was 73 Mercury's Comet. "The Blue Bomb". Had no floor boards or brakes or a dashboard you could use at night. (Cue a toggle switch). My boyfriend got her brakes and then sheet metal and tarred the floor boards. Had a piece of industrial bar for a bumper, a passenger door that you had to lift to close and the best damn Kraco stereo I could buy at the time. I miss her.
Candy apple red Li'l Red Wagon , your truck could've been just perfect if it had passed the test Austin and if it was just like your model here ... maybe one day you'll find another like it or yiu could customise yourself 😉 👍
Lund Racerback cab fairing. Holy s#it batman, you are bringing me way back. In the late nineties I was working for Van and Truck World... Yep, there was such a thing in Mississauga Ontario. Those were the Fast and the Furious days where "tastefully done" was not an option. Cricky!
Another awesome video, love that there's a story to go along with the build. There's maybe only 3 or 4 channels that I get pumped for every single upload, and yours is definitely one of them. Keep up the great work!
dang that paint job is sweet. the old square bodies were the best. I don't think bc had the inspection thing unless it comes from outta province or country
How are you doing? How's the job going? Hope things are all good for you and your family. We miss the absolutely beautiful work you used to do on these die-cast cars. Hope Jimmy is good too. Blub Blub Blub . . .
Love getting off work and seeing a new video just after completely a weekly Facebook custom challenge did a fake taxi 56 Ford delivery van with blown motor and opening hood
I think the roll-pan and other modifications are still cool, as long as they are not over-done. Ex: a 1964 Chevy Impala with "26" wheels, I don't like it. Just my opinion.
Great looking truck. Interesting story on the truck. That story bumps this video to the top the heap. Keep up the great work. Also lets usknow when you have your mailbox set up.
Great video. I love when you get into your voices. I tune in just to hear ya talk about what you do. What you do is great work. Very entertaining and informative. I’ve learned about using styrene for other toy fabrication from watching your content. Thanks!
looks great, love the shimmering red. :) and detailed interior, too! but why don't we get to see the engine bay? :) my first car was a 1977 Ford Taunus Wagon, signal green with green interior. lasted me 13 years; thrashed it because neglect and me heading for older models. though there wasn't that much to fix to begin with. I should have kept it.
Boom. 80's rock music activated. Great job on that one. Nice collour choice. Mabye you need to get a sqarebody to drive around town with,to relive the dream you once had? Hej då
I would have filled in the gap on the visor there with bar lights one on each side the other than that was nice it was a good job I like to see more of that kind of work when you do when you add on.
truck ended up looking great , you should 3d print a few more of them and other 3d printed accessorys youve done in the past. ive seen alot of people selling other 3d printed stuff on ebay. some of the odds and ends youve made would prob sell decent there as alot isnt on there either way keep up the great work
I’m late to the show, just started my very first custom truck, a Greenlight country road d100 into my 67 w100 flatbed. And this comment just caught my eye because I just ordered a bunch of 3d 1:64 accessories off eBay. There’s not a ton of it, but just enough, and some guys are willing to work from pics and make custom stuff. I really wish someone would make leaf springs and shocks and stuff, at least I ain t found it yet if they do
@@TheFrogfeeder there was one floating around on ebay that did it but it was a frame springs shocks and a set of tires/rims but it was hit and miss what year/styles he would do it in. most of his work was bigger scale typically tho so had to search his work ill look to see if it was what u needed. ill have to see if i saved the seller or if hes even active now, also awesome to hear a few others are starting up best of luck on the truck trucks in the future! alot of the time people chop up the green light monster trucks for a higher stance, and swap out tires and such, or they build up the axles with a putty and add a plastic or metal piece to slide the axles thru to make the higher stances by what ive seen if they dont go the chopping up of another truck

Your model's paint looks better than on the real truck.
♥️
I like the way you paint what I would like to ask is what type of paint do you use for a base for the paint to stick
Howdy from a fellow Albertan!!
Super cool custom top taf😊
Got love those ol square bodies. Looks awesome
Dude. Blast from the past! Love it!
All of a sudden my early teens came rushing back to me all that was missing was some Bon Jovi or Skid Row(18 and life) playing in the background... 😆 Awesome build Austin !
Haha, as soon as I saw Skid Row I was thinking that song and Youth Gone Wild. Rock on my man, rock on
Very, very cool!! Beautiful color.

@@DiecastResurrection awesome it was fun for sure
Fun! I loved the backstory as the build went along.
The end result is amazing.
Looks Awesome...reminds me of early 90s narco life trucks in Southern California.
Very sweet, my high school buddy had an 80 or 81 that looked just like that, except it had the burgundy paint job also.
I you win I don't see how he can do better. But I'll watch and see. Good job thanks for sharing 👍.
Man, that color came out beautiful.
I went over to have a look at his video. I like yours better. Not only that but your filming and light etc is better. You win boss.👍
“Mullet kit.” That’s perfect. Lol.

roll pans are still popular... almost as popular as soup.
I like soup

How long do you have to wait between breaks for each coat?
Are the times for paint and polish the same?
Boom. 80's rock music activated. Great job on that one. Nice collour choice. Mabye you need to get a sqarebody to drive around town with,to relive the dream you once had?

My first truck is going to be a 89 Chevy. I wish it was 1 year older.
Makes me miss my 82 k10 4x4 on 4inch lift and 33s
Damn right! I had an 80 4x4 with 4" lift leafs on 33s.
Nice! Too bad about the title scam on the original truck.
Looks good
Roll pans are still cool
"Y'know, trucks n stuff"
A day without learning a new verb is a wasted day.
Today's verb is "to mulletize".
Freaking sweet
Like it!
I'm guessing "written off" means the same thing as "salvage title" in the US.
