got an audi about a year ago from a different state ans recently switched the battery, issue is manual dosent have the radio card filled out, any recommendations? been searching Google and UA-cam for an hour now
Hi there. I have both of my codes for my radios so I have not been in this position fortunately. However, I have looked on google and found this website that seems to offer a service if you have the 14 digit code from the radio. I hope it helps! decodemyradio.co.uk/audi-radio-codes/
Hi Bob. How do you mean "Eliminate" the radio? As in remove if form the car? Or do you mean identify the buttons you need as they have worn off? THe reset procedure is the same for all those radios, even if the buttons are in the wrong place. I would google Mk1 Audi TT Radios and find a picture that matches yours in looks and see where the buttons are if it is that you need. I hope that helps.
Thanks Al! If like me your battery runs flat through lack of miles and/ or taking the battery off for jobs, having that code to hand is a godsend! Easier than rooting through the paperwork every time! 😂
Oddly, I've never had to do this after having the battery off for hours - I have the concert version with the LCD in the top left. Wonder if it was disabled or not present on that version.
That may be the case Ben or it might have some sort of CMOS battery that keeps the settings without power. Unusual though as it kind of blows the purpose of safe mode out of the water! At least you don’t have to faff around with it! How’s the car going?
@@andycharger Not too bad, I have a vacuum leak somewhere and there's an oil leak to sort, but other than that all good, managed to sort a big coolant leak recently which solved many headaches 😂 Going to have the wheels refurbed once all thats sorted, thinking I might go back to factory (They came coated in dark grey)
@@benofthenorthuk nightmare on the vacuum leak! I hope you get it sorted. If I have learnt one thing owning a TT it is there is always something to do on them! I guess it’s half the fun! Good luck tracking it down mate. Keep me posted!
Is it definitely a Bose stereo Macca? If you are not seeing "SAFE" it must not be in safe mode. It sounds like it cannot see itself from that message that does not make a lot of sense. I have seen some that state "NO CDC" when it cannot connect to the CD Changer behind the passenger seat but "NO TAPE" would indicate it cannot see itself! Very odd.

@@andycharger thank you so much!
My pleasure buddy!
Is there any way to eliminate the stupid radio with the code? I've worn the print off of the ads and scan buttons. What a pain.

My radio had the safe mode as i tried to take it out it doesnt turn on anymore any ideas?
I would definitely check all connections. It sounds like nothing is getting power
for it to power up.
as i was talking it out it didn’t turn on, i’ve heard i may need to have it “on” for 60 mins but you think any more ideas i will try it
Definitely give it 60 mins if the radio is locked out. If not locked out, I dont think the 60 mins would make a difference.
Thanks for that. Like the idea of having it in your phone.

@@andycharger Ha thanks - I have a list as long as my arm of jobs to do!
@@andycharger Although I did just get hold of a tonneau cover so at least it'll look nice while it leaks oil under itself haha
thank you kindly sir...mine's in safe mode as we speak..will sort this tomorrow!
Thanks for the kind words and as always, I’m glad I could help! 😀
Thank you for that. Radio working now 😀
Nice work Ruth! I’m glad it helped you out! 👍
I'm just getting no tape?
