People have either blood types A, B, AB, or O.
Are people with blood type O less prone to suffer from COVID?
And does blood type A make people more prone to COVID?
Let me first start out by saying that people of all blood types can get COVID. And people with all blood types can possibly die of COVID if they get the infection.
Based on several different studies, it looks like people with blood type O have less chance of getting COVID, and people with type A might have a higher chance of getting the infection.
Data from China was the first to show the ABO blood group association with COVID infections.
The researcher Zhao and others compared ABO blood groups of controls from the general population with over 2100 COVID patients from three hospitals in Wuhan.
Across all three hospitals, blood group A was associated with a higher risk for COVID than non-A blood groups. Whereas blood group O was associated with a significantly lower risk for infection compared with non-O blood groups.

Another observational study on data from the New York-Presbyterian hospital system happened where I did my fellowship training. Over 1500 people tested for COVID, and they had similar results with blood types.
There was another study done by Andre Franke in Italy and Spain.
In this study, they looked at DNA samples from 1,980 COVID patients hospitalized for respiratory failure. And the study produced similar results.
But what about the severity of illness?
Does having blood type "O" make someone less likely to have a severe illness from COVID, compared to type B, type AB, and type A?
Zhao and others looked at the case fatality rate, and blood group A was linked to higher mortality risk than blood group O.
Interestingly, blood type association is not explainable by other risk factors, like obesity, diabetes, and high blood pressure.
Recently, a study published by the personal genetics company 23andMe regarding evidence that blood type plays a role in COVID.
So if you don’t know, 23 and I is a company that sends out personal genetics testing kits to individuals interested in discovering their genetic history and predisposition to certain genetically transmitted diseases.
According to their website, they did a study based on over 750,000 people.
Their preliminary results suggest that O blood type appears to be slightly less susceptible to contracting the virus.
But the big question is why?
No one really knows, but there are a lot of hypotheses.
BLOOD TYPE is determined by genetics, and the genes determine the specific proteins on the cell's surface. These proteins then have particular sugar molecules that are added to them. Therefore, they exist in our blood cells and other cell types.
People who are blood type A carry A-sugar-antigens.
People who are blood type B carry B-sugar-antigens.
People with O blood type have neither A nor B-sugar antigens.
What is the significance of this?
This means that the immune systems of people with type A blood develop antibodies for B antigens.
People with type B blood type have antibodies for A antigens.
People with type O blood have antibodies for both A and B antigens.
People with AB blood type will have neither anti-A nor anti-B antibodies.
And here is an interesting fact we knew before COVID.
Studies are showing that people with type O blood have lower levels of proteins that promote blood clotting.
More specifically, people with blood group O have about 25% lower von Willebrand factor (VWF) levels than those with types A, B, or AB. This is due to the increased clearance of VWF from the circulation.
VWF is always involved in developing clots, so if there is less VWF, there’s likely to be less clotting. So this might explain why Type O blood type means fewer blood clots, which might partially explain why people with Type O overall have less severe disease. Because, as you probably know already, lots of people with COVID pneumonia also have blood clots.

Regarding mosquito and flea bites I do seem to attract insects. Through the years learned that whenever bites get infected my body seemed to have a vit B 5 defiency. The body produces vit B5 but mine not. Have to take orally and effects of bites immediately clear.Also blood type O.

@@paigesummers7580 it also depends on the variant you got. There is mild one, a really deadly one and one that mutated in central america which makes the virus even more contagious and its killing ratio appears to be a mixed of both the mild one and the really deadly one.
I’m blood type O and I was pregnant and working at a hospital through out my 9 months of pregnancy and I honestly believe I did not get sick because of my blood type and good hand hygiene, mask wearing and social distancing. I wish there was a way you could relay your videos in Spanish. You have such good information that should be spread

The point is you may not suffer as much, you can still get sick and you still spread it around. Be careful.
As long as you wrap yourself in plastic besides the N95 mask, and disinfect what you touch upon removing that plastic suit, nothing will happen to you. Next day, another suit and preferably, another N95 mask.

I have the rarest blood type, Type "O" negative. While I was in Marine Corps boot camp I got "volunteered" to give blood regularly. It seems that any person with any blood type can accept "O" negative blood, whereas other blood types require a match coming from other blood types. Over the years I have donated blood many times for family and friends who were going in for surgery or in car accidents. Now it seems as though that good will is coming back to me in the extra protection from Covid 19. I'm not gonna question it, but I am thankful!

actually o- is the most common of the blood negative types sitting at 7.7% of the population B+ sits at 9.4% so only a bit rarer than B+, then you have A- which is 6.5%, AB+ is 3.2% the rarest of the positive blood types, B- 1.7% and finally the rarest AB- only 0.7% of the world have. o- can give to anyone while AB+ can receive from anyone but this being said there are a few ultra rare types of blood not listed in the blood charts that don't fallow under any of the blood types I listed, people with this rare blood have to donate blood to store for themselves in case something happens to them.
I was hospitalized recently for Covid pneumonia. I am type AB positive. I have recovered (thank God)and I'm at home. My full energy has not returned, but I do feel a little stronger every day.❤( p s., I am 64 years old)

I just turned 64 and I'm also AB positive. I'm a lunch lady at one of our middle schools and have been working straight through since the very beginning of it all, from packing 35,000 lunches a week to distributing them to drive up cars to serving lunches outside to promote social distancing when school resumed and I can say that so far I've been lucky and blessed. I'm also careful. I can also say that in August 2019, I got really sick, Fever, night sweats, the worst, and I haven't been sick since! So it's questionable, could it have been covid, before it was known??? Some people tell me it could of been! Maybe!!!!

53 here and same. I have been locked down too much and while I am not grossly obese I don't like the size my gut is getting from all of the exercise and work I am not doing on a daily basis... It is actually at the point I am afraid it may have gotten to the point of being a complication. I do go out into the back yard every day for sun, gobble down 2000 units of vitamin D and take my CoQ10 to keep the ticker ticking... I don't eat fish so - it can't hurt...
I'm O bloodtype thankfully and when a friend told me this information back around February it calmed me down. I take at least 5000 I.U. of D3 daily and Zinc and C. I don't wear a mask often,they're not going to prevent a virus,it can enter through the 👁👁🤷🏾♂️

I'm an RN in a Covid ICU. Just this week I had a type O patient, very Ill, on a ventilator. There is not enough information about this to bet you health or life on. Use all precautions.

Same here, my wife is Type A- and tested positive. My self and our two kids are O+. We didn't wear masks or social distance before or after she tested positive and we {O+} didn't get covid 19.

Q: Why? Here is what I found. Human Plasma has monochromatic light, a spectral color spectrum portion of visible electromagnetic spectrum. When human Plasma is drawn from a donor, the first draw is clear. Upon further observation, one notices that the second draw from the same donor will unveil a color. For instance, the color Red. If the balance is too alkaline or acidic, the electron flow circuitry to the organs becomes compromised and the Immune system also is compromised. Thanks for this video. As you noted, the Chinese mentioned this possibility a long time ago, and it seems like nobody else was willing to talk about it or research it.
It is still a "what, not why" thing. It is good to keep in mind when trying to fit other pieces together but is not really something we ordinary people can use.
There was also a small study way back in Jan & Feb that found live virus in blood & stool. Also, outcomes of several treatments. It found steroids, particularly when given to patients with cardiac issues, were associated with higher mortality. Yet, all the sudden, all these news reports are coming in singing the praises of dexamethasone saving lives. Hmmmm..... I remember reading something about some success r/t anti-viral therapy used to treat HIV. There was info shared early, but it didn't get much traction. At least, not in the US. It is what it is with China, but some tried. I'm not convinced this started in Wuhan. Forensic experts in the US found virus in post-mortem studies. These people were already deceased prior to the first reported COVID-19 death. There are also reports from medical professionals saying there was an increase in pneumonia-like illness late 2019. November/December, as I recall. Researchers in the UK believe the virus may have been there as early as November. Perhaps, sooner. The primary strain infecting people in the US has been traced back to Europe. Not, China. Plus, scientists in the US were, & still are, researching coronaviruses. There are a lot of accusations being thrown around w/little, if any, facts to back them up. For all we know, someone in the US fudged up & planted the virus in China. CDC office in Beijing was gutted by Trump. Some workers recalled a mere few months prior to Wuhan confirming an outbreak. There are way too many things not adding up. I put NOTHING past this Administration.
It wasn't widely reported because no one wanted a bunch of silly people with O Blood Type to think they're safe enough to disregard the stay at home orders. I read the early paper out of China, but I haven't looked at the more recent publications. I believe the paper from China said something like 45% of severe cases were Type A, 35% were Type B, and 20 percent were Type O. (These numbers are made up, but you get the gist...) My point is that, while the numbers were lower for O, people with O were still getting severely sick.
Unfortunately, it seems most people don’t take any Chinese research seriously. I’m sure there’s some that may be unreliable but it seems the west thinks all the research is unreliable. Even in the cases of masks, it took way too long to implement and still many people don’t believe it helps. It seems to help in China but people say China is just under reporting, which may be true but also could be from stricter quarantine and mask wearing protocols. Also it’s not just China is not the only asian country reporting low numbers and one thing in common is wide spread mask wearing.

I really don't think blood type has that much to do with catching this chinese plague! I think it depends on if the person takes vitamin D and vitamin C in their diet, every day, all year long and what kind of physical shape they're in and their age.

Hmmm... well, speaking from my personal experience. My brother, A positive, had no symptoms at all, but his wife, O something, had high fever and cough. She was not hospitalised, her fever was managed with panadol. My brother, a cancer survivor and heavy smoker, tested positive but was asymptomatic. I treat all studies with a grain of salt.

If this can offer comfort, I want to add that my elderly 82 year old parents visited my brother”s family when she was infectious and later on, had never developed any symptoms. Also, my sister in law infected two in her family - my brother and my oldest nephew, my youngest nephew tested negative! My oldest nephew had mild fever managed with panadol for a couple of days, no other symptoms.

Very interesting. As someone working with covid patients, I'm not letting my guard down but knowing this gives me an extra push to keep working on the frontlines--my O+ blood is may give some protection, when my coworkers may be in more danger.

This was an excellent discussion. I have blood type "O" and I do think that I am "unable" to catch covid. I had thought it was due to a high vitamin D level... and perhaps it is... in part, but this explanation (about the A&B Antigens) may explain why I am so resistant, in general, to catching cold / viruses. I have also long known about the connection with O and less clotting. I wish everyone was taught about their blood group from a young age. O blood type is more likely to die due to "blunt trauma" so it isn't all lucky. During covid I would ask people their blood type and they didn't know. It would drive me nuts. It is SOOOO important.

My children and I are all type A+, we are all very susceptible to colds and flu, but I learn the hard way that I am better off fighting the flu without the flu shots. I usually get sick for a week and recover on my own, but the 2 times I took the flu shots I tough I was going to die. Was in ICU for influenza twice right after the shot, and after the 2 shot I was practically continually sick for a year, for which I was pregnant during the time I got the shot. I got the flu shot to protect myself from getting sick during pregnancy but ended up almost losing my life and the baby, when I got extremely sick and the infection spread in my blood stream. I surely feel fortunate that my baby and I survived that.
I am type AB. Until 15 years ago, I got seasonal flu every year. Since stopping shots, I have had one mild cold. NO FLU!
Same experience had my daughter this last October. As she got the flu vaccine, she ended up in the hospital. Both sides lung infection plus sepsis, infection of the blood. Barely escaped death. Never influenza vaccine!!! Glad you shared your experience with us. Stay healthy and may God protect you from any illnesses.

In our house this makes so much sense. I am type A, was infected through a colleague. I was quite sick for around 6 weeks. My husband is type O and did not get sick, we slept in the same bed, I emptied the dishwasher, made food most days and our toothbrush were in the same cup. We have been tested for antibodies, I have lots, but he has none. Very strange virus.
This happened to my brother. He’s A+ and became seriously ill and his wife is B negative (Rh) and she was not sick and the antibody test was negative. We don’t understand why she was not contaminated. Is your husband’s blood rh negative or positive?

That is so weird too... I am A+ and my husband is O. I was quite sick for over 4 weeks and my husband felt sick for couple of days. Very very strange virus especially the last 2 weeks of my illness as I would feel half way decent one day and the next day I could barely get out of bed. It was a roller coaster to get over this thing.

My fiancee was sick for a couple weeks with a fever etc...he is Type AB. I'm Type O and I barely got sick for 2 or 3 days. We don't know if it was Covid as we were not tested.
On another note AB and B are prone to heart disease. Looks like those with O won the lottery.

I have already had it and have the antibodies. No. I have not been tested because Australia just put out a report that the testing is flawed. If you have a common cold, measles, mumps, any other strain of flu, rabies, etc. the list goes on… You WRILL test positive for COVID-19. That includes people who do not have it but once upon a time did have it. So, I am not in any hurry to be tested. I just wear my mask, wash my hands, use my sanitizer etc.
According to the study then you were likely the carrier and infected your spouse. I wish you well and hope they recover, probably best if you wear a mask everywhere.

This information was very helpful. I have been taking precautions this whole time, because, I have type A blood, am 60 years old, with high blood pressure and I also a type 2 diabetic, so I don't hang around large crows of people and keep my public transportation bus rides real low.

I am an O- and what this man says is true, I have been healthy 98% of my life, whenever I did fall sick it was for no more than 3 days an that was when I had bronchitis an strep throat at same time, used herbs to get better. I have been around people during this virus and the last three viruses never caught any of them. GOD Bless All.

Strep is self limiting and will typically clear on its own.

This is my aha moment, I knew it! My oldest brother and mother are both O+ and I'm A+. They both have diabetes, hypertension, high cholestero; I have none of those things besides hypertension, fibromyalgia, and MDD. My brother is an OTR trucker. He went to Ashland, TN - interacted with a security guard and left SEVERLY ILL. We tried to call him for a week with no answer. He finally called my mother and came to stay with us, not knowing that he more than likely had the virus. My mother then became ill. While caring for her I became ill. They both recovered. Unfortunately, I stayed in a rut a bit longer than they did and possibly became reinfected.
I remember giving platelets to my mother's genetically, precisely matched brother who had leukemia. When she couldn't donate to him, she consented for us to do so. They were a little skeptical about me at first because I'm A+. Come to find out, mine and my bother's platelets increased his count as well as our mother's did. Hers ALWAYS allowed him to do better for a longer period of time and even come home. Thank God for my mother's DNA. I stayed sicker longer but eventually recovered. That security guard.....hasn't been seen or heard from to date.
I’m 35yr type “O- “ and I did catch COVID-19 in early January lasted like 7-8 days first 4 were the worst on felt like it just came out of nowhere was fine and healthy one day and bam it was overnight it got hot and cold chills a high fever a nasty sore throat lost of appetite lost of taste and very fatigue and what helped me was I kept my fluids up and tried to walk around in my backyard to feel the sun and still kept drinking drinks with high vitamin C and water

HIgh doses of vitamin C and 5,000 IU's of Vitamin D, with zinc, helps this virus, to go away or not catch it at all.

If type A is more susceptible to contracting the virus: then it would make sense why there is a higher mortality rate for type A blood type. Since there are more positive cases for type A. it doesn't mean that type O has a lower mortality rate technically, numbers are just lower because its less people getting sick.
No, mortality rate is the percentage of a given group that expire, not the number of deaths. If 2 out of 150 with type A blood in a study pass, and 1 out of 75 with type O, then the mortality rate is identical at 0.013%. If 3 out of 150 with type A blood pass, and 1 out of 75 with type O, then the rate is just over 1.5 times higher for the type A group (0.02%) compared to type O. (However, note the extremely low related rate of death period rather than focusing on "nearly twice as likely to die," as the media circus would slap you in the face with 24/7 to incite more fear. Also note that this does not take into consideration comorbidities or treatment types--we know that well over 90% of patients who are intubated and placed on a ventilator die. It's the WRONG TREATMENT! Some ER docs & nurses have spoken out about this from the beginning based on what results they saw in their hospitals, and have been widely criticized and silenced, AKA censored. A hospital gets a payout over $34K for a death certificate that says "COVID-19/SARS CoV2" that required use of a ventilator. It's only $14-17K for non-ventilator deaths labeled as SARS-2. Also, the associated death rate of those death certificates which name SARS-2 as COD--based on CDC's new guidelines, special for SARS-2, ensuring that up to 90.2% are falsely attributing _cause_ of death to COVID19 instead of the pre-existing factors and listing SARS-2 as a co-factor in section 2 of the death certificate according to very specific guidelines in use since 2003, thus ensuring a very inflated attributed death rate and case numbers--those with no previously diagnosed co-morbidities, is a fraction of 1% of death certificates listing COVID-19/SARS-2 as COD, using those newly drafted "guidelines." These are the only deaths that might warrant alarm and deeper probing, such as an autopsy, which is likely to also reveal previously undetected or undiagnosed states of dis-ease or dysfunctions which led to the patient's death.)
When we take a couple steps back and look at all the evidence and the actual facts and ask a few probing questions, we see we are terrified of a paper dragon. Eliminate inflammatory agents from your diet and lifestyle (smoking, chemical cleaning agents, chemical air "fresheners," excess alcohol, pharmaceuticals, lawn or other chemicals, limit EMF exposure, et cetera), take measures through diet, active lifestyle, meditation and/or other spiritual practices, nutrient supplementation as necessary, and minding your mental-psychological languaging and focus rather than worrying about an _extremely_ unlikely possibility. We are ALL going to die! That I can guarantee. *So focus on living while you have a body.* Time spent in fear is wasted forever, and fear completely suppresses your immune system making you more susceptible to states of dis-ease and sickness, as it keeps you in the sympathetic nervous system cycle.

Yes it does and there is data. RH- are less likely to get the virus & more likely to fight it off easily. The stronger the d the more the above holds true. 1% of the world’s population has RH-/- (both parents have RH-) and they are immune. A NYC study statistical analysis concluded that the mortality rate of RH-‘s is 1/48 as opposed to 1/8 for RH+. The analysis studied the outcome based on an overall sample size of a few thousand.

I am one of the owner of a company in Italy that we are doing O3 sanification. I have multiple cases of people in the same office were all got Covid-19 unless the one's with blood type O positive. I can testify that an hospital in Modena the manager took out blood test for all tha nurses after they discovered that for on month the only nurses that didn't got sick were blood O.All of rest of the nurses and medics got Covid-19 and struggled very hard. A friend of mine lived in the same house with his wife that got Covid-19 and he didn't get, neither the two kids, wife type A ,he is type O , kids also.

For your information I'm 71 and A+. I do believe eating according to your blood type is good.
With that said, I find it hard for me to follow. It's very limited when it comes to meat for A+s.
I've been doing Keto since the beginning of June 2020. So I eat pretty much any meat I want.
Try to have lots of vegetables, no sugar or no grain flours, no potatoes...
I do see an alternative Dr. monthly. I've learned enough over the last 40 years from 2 alternative
doctors. Also, I do get check-ups from MDs getting blood work, colonoscopies, mamos etc.
Try to walk everyday at least 2 miles. Do other exercises to keep flexible. Try to keep active
pushing a lawn mower and gardening.
What I found with my "O" friends that they have lots of trouble with dairy and they seem to end up
with digestive issues as they age. I used to envy them because of the meat they could eat, I don't
anymore.
Have I got the CV shot, No. Never have had a flu shot either. The way things are going, it seems we may be
forced to get the CV shot. So I can see the day I end up getting it not because it's my choice.
I have family and friends on both sides when it comes to the CV shot. Some got deathly sick getting
the shot and one ended up in the hospital because of the shot. Others, claim to have had no symptoms
other than a sore arm after the shot. Anyone close to me that got CV came through it fine without going
to the hospital. Do I know of people who died, yes, but they were not anyone in my circle or family of friends.
Our daughter-in-law is a Dr of pharmacology working in a university. Of course they got the shot and
not happy that my 75 year old husband and I have not got the shot.
Frankly, I'm more nervous being around people who got the shot who might not feel very sick so they keep
up all their activities spreading the virus around. It is proven those who had the shots can also
catch and spread the virus.
I have heard about blood type and covid a few times now. It is very interesting. I'd like to know more about
the life style of people...what they eat, exercise etc.

Blood type O is just as likely to get if exposed as any other blood type BUT they may not show symptoms or they get sick and recover fairly easily. This means these individuals make excellent carriers of the illness. Often being sick with no signs but CONTAGIOUS still nevertheless!
Type O is like 30 some percent less likely to develop lung failure.

This is a fact! I am a Pre-med student and I've noticed through this pandemic that my son has not had any issues with getting sick. Me on the other hand with type B negative are more susceptible to getting sick with viruses. That's why I've been extremely careful in public and traveling it would be very easy for me to catch Covid.

What is 'CCP'? What I and most people associate 'CCP' with is the 'Chinese Communist Party'. This is also what some people label this virus (the CCP virus)
Gregory Parrott plasma from donors that had Covid-19 and have recovered. They have antibodies to Covid-19. This treatment has had good results when given to hospitalized patients. CCP- Covid Convalescent Plasma.
